My father died. ETA: I am so thankful for you folks.

Thank you to everyone for being so kind and supportive as I have asked questions about hospice, hospice homes, home health care, etc. My mother called today to tell me my father seemed to be fading fast; when I arrived, he was asleep but breathing, but when I went back in to check on him, he had died. I am glad that he went peacefully; he has been really agitated, and I did not know how this time would go.

Thank you again to everyone for your support. This has been awful, but hearing from other people who have been through similar experiences has helped so much.

ETA: I am an only child. My father was an only child. His parents, obviously long deceased, were also only children. I have zero family on his side, and this has been lonely. I am so grateful for the support of my communities, and so glad I have all of you.
