Any suggestions for a great podcast that will help fill the time?
Thank you!

If you watched This Is Us, I recommend This Is Us Too with Mary and Blake. Another good one is This Is Us with Kei and Clyde. Both go back to the first episode, so lots to listen to.
For news, I like The Daily from the New York Times.
Bridgerton: The Official Podcast is interesting. Mary and Blake Media also have a Bridgerton podcast that’s good.
Mugglecast and Pottercast both have chapter-by-chapter analysis of the Harry Potter books.
If you watch Outlander, there’s the official podcast, Outcasts-a podcast with the actors who play Lord John Grey and Governor Tryon, She’s a Rec with the actress who plays Marsali, and Outlandercast.
For history, I like History Extra, Stuff You Missed In History Class, and You’re Wrong About.
Celebrity interviews—Conan O Brien Needs A Friend, and Dax Shepard has an older podcast that I liked.
I also have a bunch for learning French if you’re interested.

I'm kind of an information junkie. So my podcasts are usually information heavy.
Right now, I'm loving Revisionist History, Maintainence Phase, and A History of Rock Music in 500 songs.

Cold - you probably know the missing persons case it’s about (Susan Powell), but the podcast is just gripping. Also The Dropout and Truth and Lies, about Elizabeth Holmes and Jeffrey Epstein, respectively. I guess I like famous true crime cases.

If I could only pick one? The Moth. Story telling from some pros and some amateurs. Riveting. themoth.org/story-library/podcastA little related, once I had a bunch of CDs of Lake Woebegone stories from Prairie Home Companion, and listened nonstop on a ten hour drive. I was so entranced I didn’t stop for meals.

If you like The Office I have 3:
The Office Deep Dive with Brian Baumgartner. (He also has one called Off the Beat that has people from other comedy shows). The Office Ladies with Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey The Michael Scott Podcast Company. It doesn't have any famous people but it is really entertaining.
I'm an absolute Office junkie and I listen to all 3 of them every week on my drive to work.

I feel like podcasts that have a continuing story line would be better for a long drive, but that's just me . So these are some of those... Dr. Death - all 3 seasons Serial - Seasons 1 and 3 (I didn't listen to 2) In the Dark - both seasons Monster: DC Sniper 22 Hours: An American Nightmare Headlong: Missing Richard Simmons Headlong: Running from COPS The Dream - Season 1 (about MLMs)

Something Was Wrong, about finding out that relationships aren’t really what they appear. We enjoy the season long stories more than the one-offs, and season 9 is especially WOW.
Dateline for shorter true crime/mystery stories. Also Crime Junkies, lots of other similar podcasts
Nexium (not sure of the spelling) Cult with some semi famous people involved.
Bear Brook is a murder investigation.
Depending on your fellow passengers/audience, My Dad Wrote a Porno is hilarious.

I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts, and some are for very mature audiences like My Favorite Murder and The Last Podcast On The Left. But I can see they may be acquired tastes.
The podcast Criminal is for everyone though. It has a new story every episode, they are short, about 30 minutes. There is no swearing, and the cases and stories are sometimes about an actual crime, but a lot of them are crime-adjacent. I have learned some very interesting things about crime from that podcast. They also made This Is Love. Which is similar in format, but are stories about love. Not always romantic love, but love none the less.
And if you want a longer and very detailed, but respectful, podcast about crime you should check out the Australian podcast Casefile. A lot of podcasts have more than one host, and there is a lot of chit-cht and banter. In Casefile, there is a narrator that reads you a beautifully written account of horrendous crimes. It is hands down the best true crime podcast!

If you like history and good storytelling (and no ads!) I recommend the British History Postcast.

Are the podcasts episodes, or talk about the episodes? I have never watched a podcast so I am clueless!
I love The Middle and I will have to research and see if there are The Middle podcasts!

What kinds do you like? Here is a buffet for you:
Serial true crime -- Suspect (a 15-year-old murder in suburban Seattle; multiple suspects, a trial, etc) Over My Dead Body (season one) (it's about my friend's murder -- his wife's family hired a hit man to kill him, it seems) The Dropout (the Elizabeth Holmes/Theranos story and trial) In the Dark (season two) (about the Curtis Flowers case -- he was tried six times for the same quadruple murder) Death in Ice Valley (a woman is maybe murdered in Norway in the 1970s, and no one knows why, or who she is)
History -- Bad Women (about the women killed by Jack the Ripper) Noble Blood (histories of various royals, royal families, etc)
General interest -- The Ezra Klein Show (lots of different culture/political/policy issues; recent episodes focus on Ukraine) The Daily (NYT podcast, different news issue every day) 99% Invisible (interesting design/culture, urban planning issues, hundreds of episodes to choose from) The Dream (MLM expose series) Maintenance Phase (health and wellness mythbusting show) The War on Cars (a podcast critical of car culture) Sounds like a Cult (like the title says -- focuses on various cultural phenomena and rates how cult-y they are)
