Since there were people wanting to talk, but afraid of spoilers, I figured we need a new thread for that purpose.
IF YOU ACCESS THIS THREAD BEFORE WATCHING ALL SEVEN EPISODES, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

Okay... Jason is an ass, but he's an ass with his heart is in the right place. He just wants justice/vengeance for his girlfriend and friend.

Just marking my place because I have one hour left to finish the first 1/2 of the last season. So, I'll be back in an hour or so!!!
All I can say so far is I wish it was the "Dustin and Steve Show" because I love them.

Whew! Finished it!
That episode 7 was a doozy! So much going on!
At least the Hopper/Joyce storyline got moving - I was really over that one.

I loved the jealousy between Steve and Edie over Dustin.
I had to spoil for myself to see if Max was going to die because I was going to be pissed.
I loved "Watergate."
And Victor Creel? I didn't see it at the time, but I could hear the voice. I knew I knew the voice and I could almost picture the man in NY head. I was going to Google after the episode (in case googling spoiled something) when the closing credits said "with Robert Englund" Of course it was Freddy!!!
And One was creepy from the onset. When she took the thing out, I was like "that's not a tracker!!!"

I loved episode 4 with Max’s near-death experience and am not at all surprised that Kate Bush’s “Running up That Hill” is trending on iTunes and Spotify.
The police shootout in the Byers’ house was amazing and totally took me by surprise!
Eddie is an awesome new character.
I loved the return to Barb’s untimely death!
And… am I the only one who didn’t see the storyline hinting that Will might be gay and have a crush on Mike coming? DD says that’s been obvious for a while, and now I can’t un-see it, but I feel like I was late catching on.
Oh yeah - one more - the demagorgon attack on the Russians was amazing. Top notch special effects.

Top notch special effects. I mean, he definitely could be gay, but he knows that Mike has a girlfriend which should deter him. I was thinking that with the poster thing. There were good special effects and it did get the adults out of the way, but what the hell was the point except to allow Hopper to return?

We finished the last episode tonight. Glad we only have to wait a month for the conclusion. Although, the two new episodes drop July 1st and the Denver Fan Expo starts the afternoon of July 1st. While many people try to be respectful, that seems like a very dangerous environment for avoiding spoilers. I told DH he should take the whole day off. Not just the afternoon so we can wake up, get donuts and watch it before we head to the convention.
As I mentioned in the other thread, I got partially spoiled by looking up Jamie Campbell Bower because I knew I had seen him in something else (turned out to be Christopher Marlowe in "Will") on IMDB. I knew right away that Eleven was not responsible for the massacre so assumed he was, so when they started talking about One, I was nodding my head. I also assumed he was connected to the events in Hawkins to tie the two stories together and therefore was the Big Bad. But I did not pick up on the connection to the Creel family. It wasn't until after I read the other name that I realized that Victor said his son was in coma and "told he died", which for shows like this = not dead. What is interesting is now when I go to IMDB it now only lists 2 of the 4 designations of his character instead of all 4 like it said when I looked last night.
I was in 6th grade during Fall of 1986, so a little younger than the kids but not by much, all of the nostalgia is such a trip. DH was the house where everyone played D&D, including the girl whose parents thought it was satanic. Otherwise pretty much the same opinions as everyone else I've read online. This year is fresh and engaging instead of retreading some of the same paths that got to Seasons 2 & 3. I don't like when shows break the cast up throughout the early episodes and then slowly bringing everyone back together. But this year, the Hawkins crew came together pretty quickly, actually talked with each other (my critical flaw with most shows, where supposed best friends who have been to hell and back, don't share anything) and so their story moved quickly, thankfully. I'm fine that the adults are separate (although it slows down way too much), the Byers+Mike are separate (not my favorite characters), loved that they circled back to Barb with Nancy, worried about Steve's future. In the 80's, the heroes end up alive, with the girl... the noble sacrifice, life isn't fair, bittersweet ending is a 90's-21st century thing so I hope that will hold true here.

There may be more coming to that storyline. As an aside, Running Up That Hill was one of my anthems in college/grad school and it is now stuck running through my head continuously.

I guess I assumed since they were in Hawkins, they somehow got it there...

I love the way this season is leaning into the damage of trauma and how it totally fucks with you! I see you, Duffer Brothers.
As soon as 002 started picking on 011, I knew that the creepy older guy was 001, because they hadn't shown 001.

Loved the twists in chronology - I like things like that, that keep you on your toes. Loved the merging of all the stories. And I will say again I love Steve and Dustin - they crack me up. I'm not letting myself like Eddie because I think he's one of those "we'll make you love him so we can kill him" characters.
