There are so so many options! DH and I have been needing a new mattress for a year now. We are going out today to shop. I know we want a mattress a little more on the firm side.
Just wondering what you look for in a mattress.

We have tried and spent money on many. Even one Tempurpedic that was $4,000. None compare to our Saatva. We have now two in the house. And if they made one the right size for my great grandmother's bed from the late 1800's, I would buy one for it also! You can't beat the price or quality either.

DH and I could sleep on any bed anywhere until we each started having issues with pain and discomfort, in our early 50’s. He likes a really soft bed, and it was creating issues for me. So, Sleep Number for us! I sleep with a high number for firmness, his number is quite a lower. Worth every penny to us!

We had a sleep number for many years, then when we needed to replace, DH decided to go with something else. Much regret from him on that call. He hasn’t slept as soundly since but won’t replace this one until it’s time (worn out, age, etc.)

Another Sleep Number vote. I have 2, my parents have 3, my BFF has one. We all swear by them.

A few months ago we selected a Sleep Number Bed. It was so comfortable. We had to cancel it, but now it looks like we can finally purchase it, again. I cannot wait to sleep on it.

We've had Sleep Number for about 2 years now. It took me many months to get used to it but now I love it.

We have Casper mattresses at both houses. I've never slept better in my life.

Sleep Number all the way. We have one at home and also at the lake. Our original one is now 18 years old. We recently replaced the foam edges on it and it’s just as good as new. I ***LOVE*** my bed!

I prefer a gel mattress. When the weather gets cool/cold, the gel gets cooler and the mattress on the whole gets firmer. I love a cool mattress! It gets less firm in the summer but at least it doesn't get warm.

We love our sleep number and have had it for more than 10 years. We've never kept a mattress that long. This one is here to stay.

We have a hybrid mattress from Texas Mattress Makers that we both love. It has the really narrow pocketed coils in the base, and then multiple layers (memory foam, cooling gel, and something else) on top. Just the right combo of firm and soft for us, not hot, and no movement on the opposite side when one of us (ahem, it's me, I'm an active sleeper) is tossing and turning.

We had a Tempurpedic-like mattress until it started making my back hurt, like when I'd stand up after laying on the mattress I had shooting pains in my back (which led to finding out I have scoliosis.)
Now we have a Sleep Number and I like that I can adjust the mattress depending on how my back is feeling. DH definitely has a softer Sleep Number than me... so it's nice we can set our own number now.

We’ve had a Sleep Number bed for ten years. We love it. My husband sleeps at 100 which is the firmest and I’m 55. We wish we had bought one earlier.

We just spent the last few weeks researching and shopping and we have a Saatva on order that will hopefully be here in 2 more weeks. We were long overdue to replace our mattress. I hope this one is a winner. I'm tired of waking up achy.
The mattress subreddit r/mattress was helpful in our search. Maybe check that out.

Sleep number for six years, like new. Durable and can replace padding to change density or if it just wears down.

I just go in to our fav store and ask for the firmest they have.
We upgraded to king about 6/7 years ago so lucky us got a new mattress. It is amazing. The perfect amount of firmness. When it first same I couldn’t sleep on it. They told me to walk on it for about 10 Min which I did and now it’s amazing. My girls are always trying to sleep in our bed.
I cannot sleep on a pillow top mattress. On vacation I have trouble with my back and when mattresses are too soft.

We have a Sleep Number. We love being able to adjust each side to preference. We went to the showroom and found they are all alike when you zip them open, except for the amount of padding. We bought the most basic, then I customized with a couple different types of padding from Amazon and WalMart. I figured we can change those pads as needed, as well. We’ve had this bed for 7 or 8 years and have not needed to change those pads. We were going through really expensive beds every 3years or so because the plush padding would develop body dents. Not this time. The air bladders provide the support. So, we have saved money and have stayed comfortable. My husband is a 100 and mine varies from 35 to 60, but usually about 45.

We’ve had two Select Comforts, now called Sleep Number (dumb name, sounds like something a little kid would call it). It’s great having different firmness settings on each side. We’ve been toying with getting the one that raises or lowers the leg and head. I’m a left side sleeper but can’t sleep that way because of a bad arm/shoulder break. So I’ve been sleeping in a rented sleep chair, like a recliner, which is like sleeping on your back thogh with head and legs raised some.
We’ve had the current bed for 15 or so years. The amount of padding has changed so much since we bought ours!

I don’t think I could deal with the Sleep Number because I’d be that person who would constantly be fiddling with the settings, never happy.
We have a Saatva which we’ve had for just under a year. So far we’re quite happy with it.

We have been happy with our Sleep Number bed. We got the queen size, if I had to do it again, i would get the split king and the temperature adjustment feature.

Love our sleep number. We have the split king so we can raise the head of the bead of each side independently to our liking. If your dh/significant other has different sleep preferences than you do it is really wonderful!

Sleep Number, also with a split king. Going on four years. I can really tell the difference when we are away from home and I have to sleep on a regular mattress - my back just screams at me 😬.

Our first one lasted 12 years.
