We originally planted this over a year ago. Between the deer, rabbits and winter, we thought it was gone. We planted something else in its place. Earlier this spring, something began to emerge from the ground. Because we already replanted something else in its place, we dug this up and moved it elsewhere. This is now what we have. I'm sure the name of it is on the paperwork from when we did all of the landscaping...I just don't have any idea where that paperwork is. (we really need to keep a notebook...what attracts deer/rabbits, what survives the winter and most of all...what things are called)

Looks like liriope to me...my momma, the master gardener, has a ton of it in her garden.

Looks like liriope to me...my momma, the master gardener, has a ton of it in her garden. I googled liriope...and what I found says it's under 6" in height. The tallest "stalk" in my photo is 30". I wonder if it could be in the same family though. I just have the "tall" version. LOL Thank you

I never knew the name of it but I had a ton of it at my old house. I also had a ton of rabbits, so I know it's rabbit proof. It will attract lots and lots of bees and butterflies.

Thank you all...while liatris doesn't ring a bell...after googling I do think that's what it is. I can't believe that a plant that we pretty much wrote off and gave up on (and then transplanted) has come back like this. Makes me very happy.

Oh yes, gayfeather. I tease DH about his glorious white gayfeather he planted in our garden.
