Update: I sold all 4 items in 24 hours! I’m definitely going for quick sales….the movers will be here in 3 weeks. So here is my dining room set. I love this furniture. It’s pottery barn, solid and in good condition except for some minor dings and scratches. There are 2 leaves, 16” each, which expands the table to 70” long. There are 6 chairs…4 wooden and 2 slip covered (can be removed and easily washed). And then there’s the hutch. I love to display my dished and decorate it for holidays and seasons. I thought maybe I would list them separately but give a discount if they buy both. But how much? Prices are all over the place when I look on marketplace.
Sorry…..I’m gonna bug you guys a LOT over the next couple of weeks. So I’m going to try to sell a lot of stuff on FB marketplace. Nothing too valuable….but some money is better than no money….right? If it doesn’t sell, I’ll offer it for free or donate it. So starting with my living room, how much would you ask for… 2 metal barstools…very good condition
Nice, solid side table. Very sturdy but with nickel sized spot where I put my nail polish remover cap. Could always be repainted….or….they could do like I do and just strategically place a lamp over it. I’m thinking $10 obo.
Blue chair— very good condition.
Large sectional sofa. 18 years old. My very first grown up purchase. Very well loved, especially by 2 dogs. But smells good! Cushions have zip off slipcovers that can and have been washed many times. But frame could use a good scrub. Cushions have lost shape due to dogs insisting on laying on top of them. I was just gonna have the junk guy haul it off, but my brother says I should try to get a little money. What do you think? Dog not included.
TV stand. Made from the finest wood veneer from deep in the Amazon warehouse and assembled by me.

You can price a little high and say OBO. On upholstery furniture esp, it us usually identified as coming from pet free/ smoke free home so I would think the sofa would be a hard sell. The other items should sell fast for dorm rooms.

Those items are cute - I agree the sofa might need to be donated but the other items I would bet would sell.
The table is cute - I would price it at least $30-50 (maybe more?). The stools maybe $25 each. The stand and upholstered chair are also cute - I wouldn’t go too low.

It depends on your area. Look on Marketplace to see what similar items are going for.
For example, that small table, which is really cute, BTW, would be free or maybe $5 around Mt friend outside Atlanta.
Here in the Memphis area that same table would be listed as a "project piece" for $45. Not saying that is what they sell for, but people put ridiculous prices on stuff.
So price comparatively to what things are going for near you. Remember you can always go down in price, but not up.

I agree with the peas who posted above me. Your prices are too low. You can always come down to meet a buyer's offer, but you can't go up once they know a price. As recommended, put the price and OBO and see what happens.
Regarding the cute table, you could either leave it as is or take some sandpaper and sand the circular spot into a rustic longer shape. Then make several of them all over the table. Sand the edges and a few spots on the legs to look naturally worn. If done right, it just looks like the table is quite weathered and it actually sells for more.
I just had my family room couch and two matching recliners hauled to the dump yesterday. They were leather and oh so comfortable. BUT about two or three months ago, a small rip appeared in the leather. Within the next month, several small rips appeared. I was going to send it out to be recovered, but since I am moving, I have no idea what the size of my new house will be and what couch shape will work the best, I figured tossing them was the best idea.
When the guys came to haul it off, they unzipped the seat and back cushions to make it easier to maneuver out the door. To my huge surprise, there were over a dozen little stuffies hidden in there! I had seen him going back behind one of the back cushions before. He had done that since he was a small puppy and my mother used to laugh and laugh when he popped his little head back out. I had no idea he was using that space to stash his toys. I just kept replacing them, thinking they must have gotten tossed somehow. And I was vacuuming the furniture about once a month and never found them. They were not down by the seating area, which I would have seen when I vacuumed. He had tucked them up high behind the back cushion. When we were pulling them out, I looked over at him and he looked so guilty! We all started laughing at his funny expression.

You need to figure out what your main objective is - make some money or move it fast? To move it fast, I usually ask 25-30% of the original purchase price for something in good condition. If you have the time to haggle and wait for the sale, then price everything a bit higher. Also, look realistically at what you can expect to get for an item. Is that amount worth the time to photograph, list, deal with inquiries and buyers? The time required per item can really add up, which may be a disadvantage when you are on a deadline. When I sold on eBay, I found that if I couldn't net $20-25 for an item, it wasn't worth my time to deal with it.

Yes….I find dog treats, toys and my socks (which my dog steals) under the cushions every time I clean. And here’s what I just found when I pulled it out to sweep:

I agree with everyone who said to check Marketplace and Craigslist for your specific location to see what similar items are going for. For me personally I wouldn’t want to buy upholstered furniture used unless it looked pretty much like new, so blue chair=yes, not so new couch=no.
My friend offloaded almost all of her furniture on Marketplace before she moved cross country last year. The only thing she couldn’t sell was her like new couch, which now resides in the great room at our lake cabin.
Do you live in a house that you’re selling? If so, maybe see if the people buying the house are okay with you leaving the couch for them. When we bought our current house ten years ago, we went from about 1100 FSF to about 3600 FSF. They asked us if they could leave an entertainment center in the basement, a really nice Thomasville couch, a small curio cabinet and a couple small side tables because they didn’t have space for that stuff in their new house. Since we didn’t really have anything ourselves, we said sure. It was a win-win. They didn’t have to move the stuff out or figure out how to get rid of it and we had some decent instant furniture that we didn’t have to move in or buy. We have since relocated that couch to our hunting cabin, the entertainment center eventually fell apart and we cut it up and burned it, but we still use the end tables and curio cabinet to this day!
ETA: NextDoor is another good place to check for local comparables and also to list stuff you want to sell or give away. The bonus is that you know everyone is right in your area.

Where do you live? I ask because upholstered furniture will not sell well here at all but I'm sure it does well in other areas so your prices may depend on your area.

Well…I probably priced too low. I sold the TV stand for $50 and had multiple offers. I sold the stools for $30 and the chair for $30. There are even bites in the table for $20. I have a lot more to list, so I’ll probably up my prices.

I don't have a price recommendation but with your styling of these pieces and photography you should be able to easily get a pretty penny. You have done a great job of showing off their beauty!
One small recommend would be to show the table at it's maximum and minimum size.

But I lost the light tonight.

No idea, but I just want to say, that hutch is really cute! Thank-you. I’m really sad to sell it, but I don’t think there’s any chance at all I’ll be able to afford a place with a dining space big enough for it.

Since it is pottery barn it will be an easy sell - price it high!
Eta - I would price it at *least* 50-60% of current retail price. When I sold my PB dining table it went in a flash.

For your dining room stuff, I'd price it high. People like pottery barn and it's taking awhile to ship! I'd probably do $350 on the table and $200 on the hutch, and be willing to take $475 - 500 for both.

I have that table! I would sell it for $500 and sell the hutch for $300. Furniture is very difficult to get right now and that is a fraction of what you paid for it. If it doesn't sell you can always lower the price.

I agree to go more on the pottery barn stuff. We sold a quite worn sectional last year when we moved for $75. And the people were thrilled. My dd bought a sectional a few months ago for $150. I think it’s worth trying to sell and see what happens.

A hutch does not have to go in a dining room. Works well in a living room or bedroom..

Oh man, I don't think you should get rid of you dining set. Do you absolutely HAVE to? It is so nice.
What prices did you get on the 4 pieces that sold?

Wait! I want to revamp my price recommendation for the PB set. You're selling all 6 chairs too? $750 minimum is what I would take for the table/chairs.

if you live near a college town, you can easily sell that sectional. i sold a giant ugly brown one that i got for free for $400 a couple years ago. many many interested buyers. if you can fluff up the back cushions, that would help.

I think it’s worth trying to sell and see what happens. For sure label it as Pottery Barn and you will get more. And 'flipping' couches is a huge side gig things right now. List the couch and see what you can get. People are buying them cheap, cleaning and fretting them up and then reselling them.
