I bought a turkey that was just over 11 pounds. We had our Thanksgiving dinner and by Sunday ALL of it was gone.
There are only three of us: myself, 21 year old DS & 15 year old DS. My 15 year old eats almost everything in sight. I didn't get one left over sandwich. NOT ONE!! You would think that there would have been a little left, right?
I did save the carcass and make a yummy turkey soup.
So, how big was your turkey? How many did you feed with it? Did you have enough leftovers?
Next time, I'm buying a bigger turkey!

We had a 20lb turkey for the 13 of us (7 adults, 6 children). We had some leftovers, not a ton. Enough for a sandwhich or two and 3 small turkey pot pies.

I had a 13 pound turkey for seven people, one whom didn't eat turkey at all. By the time I sent everyone home with leftovers all I had left was enough for one turkey sandwich. I'm thinking I need to make another turkey soon so I can make all the leftover turkey stuff I love. I did cook down he carcass and made some nice stock.

There were five of us with a 13 pound bird. There was enough leftover for sandwiches, turkey pot pie and turkey soup. I do not eat turkey soup so that will all stay with my mom.

for Thanksgiving? we had a 20.5lb turkey - 5 adults, 1 teen and 1 child plus we sent a meal home for my SIL. We've been eating leftovers all weekend (Thanksgiving was Friday here) and I still have leftover turkey - I'm freezing the rest.
I made a 14lb turkey about 2 weeks ago - just for the 5 of us. We had dinner; lunches for 3 twice and I made curry (which served dinner and about 4 lunches as well)

15lb turkey for 7 people and I had enough to give a bag full to my parents to take home and a ball full for us to get for sandwiches, soup, etc.

We ate at a friends for Thanksgiving and didn't get leftovers. But we got a great deal on a turkey on Friday and had our own little Thanksgiving on Sunday. We got a fifteen pound and plan to do tons with it, as there are only two of us. I'm going to make some stuff to freeze, including some turkey pot pie. I don't eat beef or pork, so this is just perfect for us. Turkey is both of our favorites.

Dh bought a 20 lb turkey for four of us. We had to throw away some of the leftovers. I didn't realize we had quite so much or I would have frozen some.

20 lb turkey, 10 people, maybe 5 lbs leftover. It was enough for 7 more servings.

Well, I obviously need to buy a larger bird next time. Eleven pounds just isn't enough for us!

We make two turkeys, a 23-25 bird, and a 10-12 bird. Guests are encouraged to take some home. So, just a few sandwiches and stock made from the carcass.

There were only 3 of us who eat meat and I bought a 19 lb turkey. I put 1/2 the bird in the freezer as soon as it cooled down and gave a lot to my dd when she left today. We have eaten turkey for 5 days now and are finally out. (except for the part in the freezer.) I always intentionally cook WAY too much for the leftovers.

19.5 pounds. We had 13 people but also had a large platter of ham. I split the leftovers so we didn't get a huge amount, but I was looking forward to a turkey sandwich the day after. My husband and kids got to the leftovers early on Friday and guess how much I got? Nothing. I was SO bummed! I cooked all the food and got no leftovers (I bitched plenty about that, LOL).

I bought a 17lb turkey to cook. I confirmed 4 meat lovers and 6 vegetarians were coming for dinner. Needless to say, with 4 of the vegetarians wanting to 'try just a bite of the turkey," because it looked so amazing... I had less than half the turkey remaining after Thanksgiving Dinner. After sending SO home with enough leftovers for 2 meals, we didn't have much turkey left. To be fair, I brine my turkey and it was super juicy looking so I can't blame the vegetarians eating some of it for "a taste." The problem was really with how much of the gravy they consumed (yes I told them the gravy was NOT vegetarian). Imagine the looks on their faces when they discovered I use all those innards in the bag stuffed within the turkey to make my gravy!!!! Heh. People kept asking what made my gravy so amazing, I kept resisting, and they kept insisting I reveal. So I guess it's okay to eat turkey once a year, but not the turkey gizzards. Heh. My turkey is amazing. Whoopsies!

I had a 14lb bird for 3 adults. My DH was rushed to the hospital so he missed Thanksgiving. My Dad & I made a dent in it but I have a ton of leftovers. Just made DH his Thanksgiving dinner with leftovers last night. Will probably have them again tonight.

We had a 20-lb turkey for 6 of us. We ate about half at Thanksgiving dinner. The rest made us plenty of sandwiches, a dinner of turkey quesadillas, and enough in the freezer to make a pot pie.

We had a 20lb turkey for 5 of us 2 adults and 3 teens, it was all gone by Sat. Thankfully I bought 2 when they were $.47 a lb so I have one in the freezer waiting to be cooked.

I cooked a 10lb turkey breast for 5 people. We have eaten sandwiches everyday and I still have enough for several more sandwiches.

I made a 27 pound turkey, and had plenty of leftovers! We are half of it at dinner, and I pulled and carved every ounce of meat I could off the carcass.

We've always gone to my husband's parents' house for Thanksgiving. My mother-in-law always makes a huge bird, but there are really never any leftovers, so about 10 years ago I started making a separate turkey at home, just for us.
The 12 pound bird I roasted yielded enough for openfaced turkey sandwiches, cold turkey sandwiches, turkey pot pie and turkey noodle soup, with some leftover to freeze.

We didn't host on Thanksgiving but MIL gave us a 20 lb turkey she got on sale. We made it over the weekend for 4 of us. We were curious as to how many pounds of meat were leftover after we ate and cleaned all the meat off the bird. The container was 6.5 pounds of just meat. We ate leftovers for a couple days, I make a turkey pot pie, and froze about 3 one-pound bags of diced turkey.
DH pitched the carcass without asking so I didn't get a chance to make stock. No big deal.

We intentionally got a large turkey this year (we actually got TWO large turkeys in fact). We cooked one and the other is still in the freezer. They are both 20 lbs. With just 6 of us here we have lots of leftovers. Some we already ate and the rest will go in the freezer to use for soups, casseroles, etc. I think it's a good way to save money.
