Here is exactly why I’m so pissed off at the democrats. While I’ll always vote for Dems, this is exactly why we’re going to lose the House, Senate and Presidency.
If this gets a vote we’re fucked.

I confess to being pretty ignorant about the filibuster. I know that the minority party uses it to put a stop to legislation they don't want to pass. But can someone in the majority do the same thing?
So if a Democrat filibusters this appointment, they would need a vote to suspend the filibuster to pass it, correct? I guess they could vote to suspend for just this one appointment, but maybe they could attach other appointments to it and get them all approved at once?

There is always more to the story.
I asked myself why would President Biden do this? So I asked my friend google…
From Rolling Stone…
”As first reported by The Courier-Journal, Rep. John Yarmuth (D-Ky.) and other sources say the done-deal nomination of Chad Meredith is intended to placate McConnell, who will supposedly pledge to not stall further federal nominations by the Biden White House. Meredith, a McConnell spokesperson and the White House all refused comment to the Louisville-based publication.”
In rereading the Slate article I see the deal was this guy gets appointed and Mitch will “allow” President Biden to nominate two other judges in Kentucky.
Whichever story is correct the President feels this is the best way to get more Democratic judges appointed.
And if the voters are stupid enough to give the majority of the House and Senate to the Republicans in November then President Biden has a short window to get judges & maybe other appointees confirmed before the obstructionist party becomes the majority.
I think more then a few folks don’t grasp the simple fact how limited a president is in doing some things without a solid majority in the House and Senate.
