Do you kneel by the bed (as all the cartoons show)?
I have never kneeled beside the bed. We were always lying in the bed and that is what I do to this day.
I also confess that I don't pray every single night.

as a child - yes. Ever since I screwed up my knee in college? No - even kneeling in church hasn't always been possible and even now (nearly 6 years out from my last surgery) while I CAN kneel, it's certainly not pain-free or easy.

Never once kneeling. Always lying in bed. But kneeling besides the bed makes a lot of sense because I have (often) fallen asleep praying before and not being *in* the bed would help with that! 😂

Kneel. There is tile in my bedroom, and although this is not very comfortable to do, I do it this way, as it makes me feel better on the inside. Not necessarily on the outside. 🙏

In bed. In the shower. In the car. Anywhere. But I don’t kneel.

I do pray every night but after in bed. But during the day sometimes I’ll retreat to my bedroom and kneel beside the bed to pray for each of my kids. I feel humbled and so extremely thankful for them, it feels natural to me to kneel and pray.

When I prayed, I knelt by the bed. (But I’m an atheist now, so I haven’t prayed for 20 years, since I was in my early 20’s. If I still did, I would imagine I wouldn’t have changed, but maybe…)

During my entire growing up years we always knelt beside our beds to pray. I always assumed this was a Catholic thing?

Yes to all of these places. I only kneel when something horrible has happened/ is happening.

I almost never pray at night. I mostly pray when running and while driving - which I do every day. And then at random times throughout the day. Talking to God is so natural to me, like chatting with someone who’s in the car with me or sitting in my office or at the kitchen island. All day every day!

Never kneeled. Yes I pray (sometimes) before sleep... my bad thing is that I usually fall asleep before I end my prayer.. and they are not that long! lol

I’ve never kneeled to pray, but I do pray in various places- in the car, shower, outside in nature (a great place to pray!)

If I pray at night, it's in bed, but I usually pray in the mornings while doing my stretching exercises. Do you know it takes 30 seconds to say The Lord's Prayer? It works perfectly for me. Any other prayers are said either in the shower or while sitting on the side of the bed first thing in the morning.

Another question about prayer... do you think prayer must always be said aloud using your voice? I quite often offer prayers unspoken, as thoughts in my mind. But I'm unsure if this is actually prayerful. ??

But I'm unsure if this is actually prayerful. ?? Absolutely not. I believe that God can hear the quietest prayers of my heart. There have been many times that I cannot even bring myself to actually 'voice' my prayer (especially with my DS1) and I fully believe God knows what I am praying and thinking.

Prayer is a necessity for me. For many reasons. I am overwhelmed by God's goodness to me--although so very unworthy, and that's a fact (my unworthiness). He is my very best friend so I chat with Him all day long. But I do--morning and evening--kneel for prayer. But like, many of the rest of you, I also pray as I snuggle under the covers at night. Mostly just chatting with Him, but I also tend to fall asleep while I talk . As for praying out loud: God is glad to hear from us whether we just speak in our minds to Him to chat out loud.

If they are not heard, then I've wasted a lot of time in my life.

I don't pray, but I have my time of gratitude and I set my intentions for the next day just after I crawl in. It is also the time when I think about and send out good vibes to people who are struggling.
I, too, often fall asleep before I'm done! I finish after waking up in that case!
So to answer the original question: no, I don't kneel. There is no need for me to do so.
