I’ve been looking at a Teva and at a Sorel.
The sorel has more to it and an amazing grip, I could wear it in the city with jeans and feel dressed. The teva is lightweight and comfy. Will the rubber sole be good in the heat?

I wear Chaco sandals exclusively until it gets too cold. The ones I have are the z style with a toe loop. I have 3 pair and LOVE them. They hold up well, I can hike in them. They go in the lake. They go into the washing machine with jeans or towels.

If you like flip flops I recommend Oofos. I love mine. They are so comfy.

I wear Tevas and haven’t had any problem with the soles. They’re so comfortable. Highly recommend.

Where and when are you going? Somewhere in Europe, right?
I have 4 sandals that I wear in rotation. Teva, Clark’s, Earth Origin, and Olakai. All have good soles. You want shoes that will be stable on cobblestone. If you wear a heel, do a wedge vs a separate heel. Also be aware that a lot of places may have paths with small pebbles that get in my sandals. I’ll admit that I don’t wear sandals a lot when on a big trip.
Comfort is your #1 priority. Make sure your shoes are well broken in. Not a day or two, but weeks. After hiking up Mont Saint Michel last week, I have a spot on my foot where my shoe was rubbing. They are the same shoe that I’ve been wearing for years, but a recent repurchase. They are well broken in now!

I love Tevas for hiking and the beach but I don’t find them good for lots of walking in a city on sidewalks, etc.

My daughter bought a pair of Chacos before we went to Israel. She wore those every single day for every single minute of all the huge amount of walking we did. Heat, rain, climbing to the tops of things (mountains, buildings), climbing down into things (tunnels, archaeology sites)....The only place she didn't wear them was into the Dead Sea because she was worried about the salt. She wore my second pair of Crocs instead.

I don't have any Sorel sandals (but would like some) but have been wearing their shoes almost exclusively in the fall/winter/spring. They seem to work the best with my plantar fasciitis and other foot pain.

I love my Keens—sandals and shoes, they are the only two pair I brought when we did a 6 week vacation to Europe.

We are headed to Italy in a few weeks and I wanted something comfortable but stylish. I bought 2 pairs of sandals: a pair of black leather Tevas that look a bit more sophisticated than their more rugged outdoor sandals, and a pair of cognac leather Clarks with a sporty wedge heel. I've been wearing the Tevas for a few weeks. I did get some blistering on the bottom of my foot initially because the leather footbed is a bit more slippery than their typical sole, but I think I'm ok now. The Clarks should be here this week.

Dang it—I’ve bought enough shoes lately. I have an older style of the Tevas and they are so comfortable.
