I know I’m late to the game but I think I want an air fryer. What do you have? Likes? Dislikes? I feel like I would prefer the type that look more like a toaster oven, shape wise, but they seem more expensive. I just think it would look better sitting on counter all the time, and be more likely to use it if I don’t have to drag it out of a cabinet. Or do I buy a cheap one and see if I actually use it?

If it is more than just a couple of people in your family, buy the largest capacity, highest wattage one you can find.

I replaced my toaster, my toaster oven and the air fryer I had with a KitchenAid combo one that does a whole bunch of things besides air frying.
I gave my air fryer to a friend - who wasn’t sure she’d use one but decided to try it and see. I had to laugh a couple weeks ago when she “killed” it by having it on the stove, accidentally moving it and turning on a burner, which melted the bottom. The first thing she said was that she’d be getting a new one. When I teased her about that, she said she laughed every time she used the old one, remembering how she wasn’t sure about it.
Note, she opted for the rectangular style with the rack instead of the egg-shaped with a basket when she got her new one.

I have the Instant Pot Vortex and I just love it. It's so easy to use and so easy to clean, too. It was America's Test kitchen's highest rated air fryer.

I upgraded to the newer IP Air Vortex Plus 6qt a few months ago and really like it. I had the older 6qt for a few years and GA e it away in the free gift community group.

I use mine mostly in the summer - meatballs, chicken wings, roasted potatoes, hashbrowns, cut potatoes, baked potatoes, reheating left overs that can go in it, onion rings, kebabs, tater tots...

I have the Cuisinart air fryer/toaster oven/convection oven combo, and I love it. It gets used almost daily, and it completely replaced my [admittedly old] toaster oven so I don't really notice the counter space it takes up since it has approximately the same "footprint" as my old toaster oven.
