I popped into CVS to get DH some eyedrops and had a $8 off $40 coupon, so I had to use it (you know where this is going).
What did I buy? Laundry Detergent
Only to come home and count that I have over 600 oz of laundry detergent. (we are 2 people in this household)
What do you seem to buy all the time?

I needed to get my grocery order over $100 last week to save the $6 fee, so I added another package of laundry tabs to the one package I was already getting because it was on sale. Let’s just say I’m … well-stocked … on laundry tabs.
And I buy toilet paper basically every time I see it. Two+ if they’re on sale. No one in my extended family will ever, ever run out of toilet paper. Thank God I have a big garage.

Soy sauce. It's a running joke in our house. I hate running out of it, so I have a "when in doubt, order more" attitude. DH is all

I seem to have a deep-seated fear of running out of pouch salmon. At nearly $3.50 a pouch, it is not cheap. But my gym rat kid (20) needs protein and it is his easy go to. So... I could have 10 and run out in 3 days, or, I could buy 10 and add to the 20 and it lasts for a while. You'd think we could get an inventory control method! Honestly, I may have 40 or 1 at any given time. So.. when in doubt, buy several.

Not now that I'm no longer teaching, but I may or may not have an entire dresser drawer in a guest room filled with boxes of Ticonderoga pencils...
Everyone at work who has school age kids is getting a box or three.

Big boxes of kosher salt. I can never find it at the back of the pantry and end up buying another.

Trader Joe's 72% dark chocolate 3-pack! They can sometimes go a month or more without stocking it as it is made in Belgium. I buy 5 packs anytime they have it in stock.

The balsamic glaze from Costco. I am obviously terrified of not having any because I just bought another bottle this weekend and I already had 3 bottles.
The other item os Trader Joe’s instant cold brew powder. I buy 2-3 every time I go to TJ’s because I am worried they are going to stop selling it if I don’t buy enough and I love it so much.

Garlic powder. I can never remember if it’s onion powder or garlic powder I need, but when I’m at the store I convince myself it’s garlic powder so that’s what I buy. Then to realize I was wrong and the same cycle next trip.

Tissues, paper towels and toilet paper, but that’s partly because DH works for a company that makes them, and picks some up at staff sales each month. What’s there varies, so he gets what they have, regardless of how much we have at home.
Apart from that, we have just moved apartments, and I have discovered so many tealight candles, notebooks ( many sizes) and cloth shopping bags. Notebooks and bags seem to be my ‘go to’ souvenir purchase lately, which explains them, and we will use a lot of the candles come Christmas.

The balsamic glaze from Costco. I am obviously terrified of not having any because I just bought another bottle this weekend and I already had 3 bottles. I love it too! I made the mistake of popping into the refrigerator after the first time I used it. When I went to use it again, it was so thick that there was no way it was coming out of the bottle. I had to set it into a container of very warm water to get it to budge. Of course then I read on the bottle that you are not supposed to refrigerate it. Duh. I have been using it on roasted Brussels sprouts and chicken tenders that have been sautéed in a bit of butter. The contrast of the buttery deliciousness and the tang of the vinegar is so good. Amazing stuff! What are your favorite uses for it? I may have to stock up on more myself. Oh, and as I am packing up, I find that I have more plastic carrying bags than any sane person needs. Mainly the bigger IKEA blue bags. But they are coming in handy for my packing. I use one to help me move a packed cardboard box down the stairs because I cannot lift and carry them without the risk of another fall down the stairs. I use them to bring the clean laundry upstairs to fold on my bed. And I have been packing soft items into them, tying the top shut, folding in the ends like a package, and using painter’s tape to secure the folded part.

DH always rolled his eyes at the stockpile I have in the basement, but I felt validated when we had five bales of Kirkland toilet paper in February 2020! And yes on the big garage/basement!

We are moving back to the States in September and I’m trying to eat down my pantry to zero—a much bigger task than you could ever imagine!
I’m doing fairly well, but do have a lot of vegan dairy products because I have to go to certain stores to get them and they run out frequently. I’m going to have at least 2 tubs of cream cheese and 2 tubs of vegan butter. I’m thinking a cracker dip with the cream cheese and a batch of cookies with the butter may be on the books later. I already made a big batch of blueberry pancakes this morning and all the frozen fruit in the house is now gone.
Meals are getting very creative!

Everyone at work who has school age kids is getting a box or three. I stopped teaching in 2012, but I found a huge box of Ticonderoga pencils a couple of years ago in my basement storage area. I used to shop at a warehouse in Richmond that sold undelivered “salvage” for incredibly cheap prices. One time they had the pencils for 25 cents/dozen and I bought them all! I shared with my fellow teachers, donated to my kids’ classrooms, and of course used them in my class. I didn’t realize I still had an big box of them after my girls all graduated, so I donated them to the school supply drive after I found them.

Jalapeno Giant Goldfish, must have at least six bags. I eat them every day but five bags? I fear they will be discontinued like the Reds Hot Sauce version and want to enjoy them as much as I can.
Scrubbing Bubbles Fresh Bushes. Probably have five boxes in addition to a box in each bathroom. They come in 10 packs and I have a lot of bathrooms and use them regularly. There have been times when they are not available so I buy them when they are in stock.

Canned black olives-I recently rearranged our pantry and found that there were about 15 cans of black olives.
The funny thing is, the grocery store we shop at has a wonderful fresh olive bar and we eat fresh olives often. I thought I was occasionally buying a can for a recipe I make every once in a while which calls for a 1/2 cup of black olives. I had no idea I had enough black olives to make the recipe a hundred times or so!

Currently we have a ridiculous stockpile of toothpaste, deodorant, body wash, liquid hand soap, and fabuloso. Our youngest son who still lives at home is working for Colgate Palmolive while attending college. When they offer stuff, he takes it plus his discount at the ‘company store’ is pretty sweet.

Well, I did have a stockpile of the All detergent I liked (free & clear/ small & mighty) because I was having trouble finding it. But now it's been discontinued and I'm on my last bottle. Bummer.
I have a definite spice problem -- I'm constantly buying them. I've had to devote an entire cabinet in my kitchen to them. Penzeys is a huge problem for me.

We use it on salmon, chicken and vegetables, but I also use it when I make tomato sauce and panzanella or caprese salad or caprese sandwiches.
