or a text with slightly wrong word, thinking "It's obvious what I'm trying to say, and *uck this phone!"
"CLOSE ENOUGH" is my motto certain days or moments when either my fingers or my brain aren't cooperating.
ETA ESPECIALLY, ESPECIALLY voice to text via my car's system. Some words, that *itch just can't understand...

YES. After having Covid in Dec of 2020, my hand/eye coordination stinks and texting with fumble fingers is miserable. Also, it screwed my eyes up too, so half the time I can't see what is says anyway, LOL. I have given up and just go with it.
Siri and I speak different languages apparently.

If I notice it, I will correct it. But I agree with OP that says I swear sometimes a word is change after I hit send!

half the time I think my phone changes it AFTER i finish typing and hit send This. All the time this. But I will admit to (generally) not closely rereading what I wrote before hitting enter. I have the same issues posting here. 😉 hhmmm, I see a pattern, maybe in my case it is a user issue. 😆

It actually really bugs me when someone texts me and a little word is wrong. Like they or the phone, made a very tiny word mistake. Then they immediately send the correct word. Hey, it’s ok. I can totally figure out what you are saying. There is no need to send the correct word. Of course, I don’t text it, I just think it. 😊

It bugs me when I have a typo so I try to catch it before sending, but it happens sometimes. It doesn't bother one little bit, though, if I receive a text with typos.

Don’t see the error until I hit send. I assume people either get that it was in error or think that I’m mostly illiterate. I’m okay either way. I do correct errors here, Facebook, Reddit if I notice right after posting. I try not to make corrections if time has passed.

I am a big believer in the efficiency of error--it's not worth my effort to make sure everything is perfect.

I only use speaker to text because I cannot text. Part of it is just hard for me but the other part is my vision is so bad that I can't see well enough to know there is mistake. And with my accent, the speaker phone gets my words mixed up a lot too!

I do, especially if it's to my DH. Those make for many fun texts later on.
Other times, it depends on who I'm sending it to, or how bad the typo is. I may leave it if it's pretty easy to figure out.

I always have to go back and correct, before I sent it. but I really try to send it correct the first time. How silly of me to expect different of others. - pay no attention to what I say. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I usually see the mistake as I hit send, but too late to stop it. If it changes the meaning of what I wrote, or it doesn’t make sense, I’ll send a correction.

It makes me twitchy to knowingly sending out a misspelled word but sometimes I just CAN'T get the right spelling.

My typos in my texts are how my kids know it’s me. Lol

90% of my texts are to teenager/20 somethings. They type so damn fast, I can't keep up even when I send the misspelled words! Case in point this morning when "observinu" was sent instead of observing, but I still had 2 additional texts and a pic completely unrelated to what I was responding to before I could hit send!

Yes. Doesn't bother me to receive such texts as long as I can figure it out. It doesn’t even bother me when I can’t figure it out because it makes me laugh. If I had a nickel for every time I’ve responded to my BFF’s texts with “say what now?”…

It depends on the typo. I try to correct but sometimes it just won’t let me get back to where the typo was and I’m not erasing all the way back.
What I hate is when you type it correctly and it changes it to an incorrect spelling this happens a lot. You type two letters and it changes it to a different word snd starts a second word I’m still trying to type the first word which is nothing like the word it inserted.

It's to the point that if a word is misspelled then it becomes "well that's the way it is spelled now"
After misspelling the word "bird" so many times, my family now refer to them as "burbs".
ETA Hopefully I am not the only Pea who misspelled "misspelled" before autocorrect helped me out.

I have a few editors in my life and I’m generally hyper aware of my spelling in those texts, which drives me crazy because they’re very nice people and probably don’t judge me but I don’t want to take the chance. It’s like posting on twopeas 😀

I usually don’t catch it until I hit the send button. Then I send another text with : *correct spelling
For instance, if I send a text like - This word is wroung My next text would be - *wrong

I have to admit I have a tiny bit of OCD when it comes to correct spelling. I type in a text, then completely re-read it before I hit Send. I also always confirm that it's going to the right person! If there is an error, that means I've missed it twice!

Since I use speech to text typically it isn't like the word is spelled wrong, it's just the wrong word because my phone does not understand me. I just send it anyway. I figure it's like a puzzle for the recipient to figure out. Keeps their brain sharp. 😁
