I teach junior high in Calgary and didn't put a wish list on the Amazon thread because I'm in Canada ... The bulk of my school day is spent teaching grade 7 Humanities but I also teach a Fashion Studies option class ... We have almost no budget for things like fabric ... this makes no sense I know I received fabric from the wonderful quiltz awhile ago and the students loved it ... I'm so grateful I realize that donating fabric to me might mean paying a crazy shipping cost for you ... I apologize for that ... Anyway, if you are a quilter or a hobby seamstress/tailor and have fabric to spare, I would love to take it off of your hands Peamail me and I'll give you my address

I don't know if this will help but I also use fabric in my tech theatre class. I have had a lot of luck posting in local Facebook groups offering to take scraps and fabric.

Do you have any Freecycle, NextDoor or even a Facebook Buy Nothing groups in your area? Those would be some good places to put out a request. Sometimes I see people ask on my local groups for similar things here and others jump right in to offload what they don’t need.

I have loads of 100% cotton, but it would be too expensive to ship to you from U.S..... Wish I could help. I like the ideas suggested above. Good luck!

I think I got rid of it the last time I gave to the thrift store.

Canada Post takes your money hand over fist The projects we do are all hand sewn ... it's grade 7 ... we go through cotton fabric, felt and thread for the most part ... I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to give me ideas! I think I got rid of it the last time I gave to the thrift store. Bummer but I'm sure someone is putting it to good use

Please put together an amazon wish list and share it with me, I will send some to you off your wish list directly. Don't forget to include some fun fabric. Or, I can PayPal you a donation and you can shop locally.

leannec do you have Venmo? Or PayPal? In previous years I’ve donated to US teachers, I’d love to donate to you this year. ♥️

I don't have any fabric to donate, but I wish I did as a family member is going to be vacationing in Canada soon and it probably wouldn't cost as much to send within the country. Unfortunately I can't sew besides buttons/simple repairs, so no fabric here. Hoping you're able to find some as I know how it is not to have a budget to get supplies for your student with all the education cutbacks.

I'd be happy to send you some fabric. I have boxes and boxes of it. Are you looking for just cotton, or other fabrics as well? Flannel? Quilting squares? Any particular colours?
Peamail your address and I will start going through what I have. Glad to help out for your class!

There is a pretty well known quilter in Calgary, Cheryl Arkinson. She might be able to hook you up with some fabric. www.cherylarkison.com/naptimequilter/tag/teachingHave you asked at any local quilt guilds? Ours has a "gift table" - people bring fabric and other sewing supplies they don't want, and others are welcome to take them home.
