What is your favorite comfortable shoe? I'm a pull-out intervention teacher who sees 16 groups of kids throughout the day. I pick-up students and take them back to their classrooms for each group, so I end up walking over 10,000 steps each day at school.
I need some shoes that would look good with business casual pants and skirts/dresses (doesn't have to be the same pair). We can wear tennis shoes. Basically anything but flip-flops.
Drop me your suggestions!

I found a pair of slip-on Sketchers, the ones that look like they have laces but the laces don't open. They're all black including the sole, so they don't look at first glance exactly like an athletic shoe. I wear those every day at school.
I never wear dresses/skirts so I don't have any recommendations for that.

Clarks shoes are my go to. Naturalizer are also good for when you are on your feet a lot.

I started with one pair of these, but have gone back for more pairs because they are the most incredibly comfortable teaching shoes. Ever. I typically get between 10-12K steps a day in when I teach too. www.oofos.com/search?q=OOmg+eezeeThe soles are very squishy, yet with arch support. They were originally developed - the slide style - as running recovery shoes. I cannot say enough good things about them. They have a military discount, so I pay a little less, but would buy them full price. I started with a pair of the clogs in a pattern that was on sale and went back for the slip on sneaker style. And now have 2 pairs of the clogs and 3 of the slip ons. I see that they have a teacher discount too. DSW sometimes carries the clogs, so you could go try a pair on if yours has them. eta: I see that the cheetah slip ons with the black soles are on sale. I get so many compliments on those when I wear them!

I also love Sketchers. And I just bought a new pair of New Balance cross trainer sneakers.

I need major arch support or my plantar fasciitis acts up.
Hoka tennis shoes are spendy but very cushy and supportive. I have a black and white pair that would look decent with black slacks.
Haflinger clogs are my everyday winter shoe, but they kind look like slippers. Soooooo comfy though.
Vionic shoes have excellent arch support.
Alegria shoes are great for walking. A lot of nurses wear this brand. These would probably be your best bet. Many styles and fun patterns.

Another vote for Sketchers. They saved my feet when I was teaching these last several years. I have at least 4-5 pairs in different colors. I also have a bone spur on my Achilles tendon so I can't wear shoes that hit the back of my heel. The cushion support of the sole has really helped keeping that from getting inflamed. Mine are slide-ins. They stay firm on my foot and very comfortable. I HIGHLY recommend them if you are a teacher.

Alegria 100%. I have over 30 pairs (but mind you I get them for $30-$50 a pair because I have a tiny foot; that size is always on clearance). Anyway, I have fun with them, and they help my PF tremendously. You can also change out the insoles if they get worn out. They generally have the insoles on sale once a year. I just bought a bunch during their last sale at $14 a replacement pair.

Skechers have never had enough arch support for me. They’re too squishy. I teach in my Birkenstocks a lot of the time. I also like Taos sneakers and Vionic shoes/sandals.

I wear Dansko sandals and Hokas on Friday. I have plantar fasciitis in both feet. I teach culinary and and constantly moving. The Dansko have a raised bed so it looks like you are wearing a higher heel than you are. The incline and slightly raised toe area really help!
If you get Hokas, get fitted first. I went to a running store. Also, it looks like you say “one one”. It’s pronounced “oh- nay oh-nay”. One pair lasts me one school year. They are the best!!!!

For work-comfy shoes Clarks, Naturalizer or Vionic for me.
For sneakers, I only wear Saucony. I've tried Sketchers several times but I can't wear them. They rub my heel no matter what size I get.

I live in my Asics, but that might not work for you. I also wear Vans and Keds. All are very comfy.

I love Clarks. I buy a few pairs each year for work (in education) in basic colors and wear them all year until summer!

I alternate between Vionic slip on sneakers and a surprisingly comfortable pair of sneakers by Universal Thread (Target). If I need dressier, then Cole Haans are my go-to.
Outside of work, I'm in my Birkenstocks 90% of the time.

Vionic shoes! They have flip flop styles, casual, and dressy sandals and pumps.
I have a torn tendon in one toe and low arches. I can stand and walk in these all day. And I’m a teacher.
