Isn't that why you buy a baseball cap? To give whatever it is on the cap a shout out? I don't wear them much.. I just have one and it just has a little sailboat on it and pink. Bought it at a lake somewhere cause I needed a hat. I'm a Mizzou supporter.. so our greeting is M-I-Z and the greeting back is Z-O-U.

I wear a hat from my alma mater, Berkeley. I live in So Cal, so I often get comments from UCLA fans and USC fans 👿. The only comment that matters is Go Bears! 😁 I miss visiting Berkeley and grabbing a slice of Blondie's Pizza.

There were so many different ethnicities represented. Ethiopian food was one of my favorites there.

Ethiopian food was one of my favorites there. Blue Nile on Telegraph used to be our favorite Ethiopian and was where I first had it. I was so sad when they closed. Thankfully Oakland has tons of other options - our current favorite is Cafe Collucci - it is soooo good you have to try it when in town. For pizza I was always a Fat Slice girl Now, we do love Zachary’s.

When I wear a baseball cap, I specifically pic it out because of the affiliation. I wear my Atlanta Braves cap when I go to their game for example. If I am at the beach, I wear my cap for the name of that beach (I generally go to the same one). Sometimes I go to an outdoor concert and I wear a cap for that band (if I have one), if not, I wear my Braves cap but I KNOW I am wearing my Braves cap.

I have a connection with hats I buy, but as someone mentioned I would probably forget which one I was wearing so if you mentioned it I wouldn’t immediately make the connection. I have also been known to grab SO’s hat or I may buy one randomly when I’m on vacation and/or forget one when I’m out in the sun all day. Those don’t usually hold meaning and I usually end up donating them back home.

I generally grab one of my kid's hats. They are all fictional/game references that I don't recognize. I also only wear them around the house doing yard work. But, I do notice when we are out who does recognize the hat he's wearing. They usually say something because it's a little bit niche and people like connecting with like-minded geeks.

I don't look cute in them so I only wear them when I'm out walking or running. I have a black puma one that I call my "stranger hat" because it looks like the one the girl wore in The Stranger on Netflix, and I have a Jurassic Park visor I got in Orlando that is ridiculous but I'm pretty fond of it. 😜🦖

I don’t wear caps because I have short hair and they don’t look right. I my hair was styled differently I would love to wear a baseball cap. I like the look with a ponytail.

I might need a reminder of what's on my hat, but I've never worn a branded hat of which I wasn't a fan. That's just weird to me.

I haven't worn a baseball cap since I left my job that had one as part of the uniform. I don't really pay attention to what people are wearing out in public, and I think the most I have ever commented would be something like "I like your shirt". I'm generally not looking to strike up a conversation with a stranger and wouldn't want to say anything that might be construed as an attempt to do so.
DH wears a cap all the time in public. I gave him one with the flag of a (relatively obscure) country some of his ancestors are from, and he gets the occasional person asking him if he is from there.
My dad last time I saw him was wearing a baseball cap he got free from a hardware store. If you greeted him with the slogan of the hardware store, I guarantee you'd get a blank look. He doesn't wear the hat because he's a big fan of the store, he wears it because he likes to wear a hat and this one was free.
As far as the college hat and the slogan, this time of year I bet there's a lot parents of incoming freshman who might already have their college merch but aren't familiar enough with the school to recognize a slogan.

Fun question. I went and counted my caps. I have 7--3 for our local MLS team, two from my college, one from Seattle and one from San Diego. The Seattle and San Diego caps were vacation souvenirs, the others are teams I support.

My DH's favorite hat is one that was orphaned at our house. It is a really nice, sized, Angels baseball hat. The closest thing to sports watching in this house is CrossFit Games and BattleBots. 🤪
He always gets comments on it especially when we are on vacation out of state.
My good friend was wearing her favorite cap and was wondering why people would always ask her about baseball. She had no idea the LA symbol on the front was for the Dodgers and not just the city. 😆
She has finally replaced it with a Disney hat which is much more her speed.
I intentionally don't wear a hat with something that I don't connect with.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a shop that has sized baseball cap (s/m) withOUT sports (or any) logos?

I wear a baseball style hat at my kids' baseball games if it is really sunny and I can't find shade. But I think I look terrible in them and really hate to wear them. I have a gray Adidas hat and a white Nike hat. I would consider wearing one that represents their team but none of the ones we have look decent on me. I am not one to wear team logos unless I am actually at a sporting event for that team. I think it is strange that someone would wear a hat and not know the affiliation. Have you ever put your hair in a pony tail and pulled it through the hole ? That’s what I do. I bet you would look adorable. Whether I have my hair up or down I think I look really weird with a hat but sometimes it is needed. This summer my son told me I look like I am "new to wearing hats" lol. But he didn't have any suggestions on how to make it look better. I am also not good at putting my hair in a ponytail and having it look cute as opposed to like I just finished a workout.

I don't like the way that I look in baseball hats, but I assume that the logos are intentional. My Dh umps baseball and has quite the collection.
