Do they work? What brand do you recommend? I saw a couple at Kohls, but they were huge and felt flimsy. I'm tired of "drying" lettuce and was curious.

I have one from Pampered Chef. It works great, but to be honest, my kitchen doesn't have a lot of storage space, and it's a pain to store.

I have the KitchenAide one....it works fine. I just hate hauling it out and putting it away.

We got one once from my BFF, I was skeptical, but lo and behold - we used it all the time. It finally died after something like 20 years, and we replaced with an OXO. It works very well, plus you can use the spinner part as a strainer if you are in a pinch.

I use mine all the time. I can't remember what mine is, maybe a Starfrit?
It pays to get a good one, but they are a pain to store.
Edited to add, it is a Starfrit.

The red KitchenAid brand one ...been using it for many years. Love it way more than lettuce on paper towels.

I have one and love using it for salads! Mine is an older one, not sure what brand, as it doesn't have the hole to add water directly. It also has a string to pull. But it's 19 years old and still hanging on! I'd say it's worth it.

We have this one from Ikea. It was only $4 and works well. We make a lot of salads, so for us, it's worth it to have one.

I have one but I can't tell you what brand. We got it at Bed Bath & Beyond. I like it but only use it occasionally because it is a pain to get out and put away. I probably need to store it somewhere else so I would use it more often.

We throw the lettuce in unwashed, fill the bowl with water, swish, and the lift the basket leaving the water and soil behind. Then we dump the water, repeat, spin, done. I love ours.

I have one I purchased at Aldi. It is quite sturdy and easy to use. I use it to not only spin lettuce and greens, but also strawberries and blueberries. When I bring them home I soak them in 1 part vinegar to 10 parts water, then spin them, before I store them in the refrigerator.

We have the OXO one as well and have used it for the past 10+ years. It still works great even after dropping it multiple times (and parts of the lid are missing.)

I use the same OXO one as voltagain. Love it. I get a lot of greens from my CSA and that thing makes it much easier to get everything cleaned and put away. Since I use it 3 times a week, I keep it in a prime cabinet spot. My last one worked for 20 years before someone broke it. I've had the new one for 5 years, and it's in perfect condition.

I got mine at Ikea too! I've had it for years. It's really held up well and works like a charm. I didn't expect it to work so well for such an inexpensive price, but it does.

I also have the same one at Volt. I also use the basket as a strainer when I am too lazy to look for the actual strainer, so it is a multipurpose tool!

I have no idea what brand it is, but I've had a couple of them and can't imagine how I would dry lettuce without one now. Love it!

I never think far enough ahead to wash and dry lettuce for dinner, so yes, it is an essential part of making salad in our house. I have a Cuisinart that I bought at Homegoods. It works great.
