This Saturday is opening day of college football and for DH this ranks just below our anniversary and the kids' birthday for special days (might outrank Christmas for all I know).
So nothing will be accomplished in the CraftedbyS household on Saturday.
We will have ESPN GameDay on while we have coffee and DD is making monkeybread for breakfast.
Then it is all footall, all day. As in there will be games on the big TV, the laptop, iPad and DH's phone all at once.
In addition to an all day football fest, this will also be an all day foodfest.
I want to do some special food for DH's holiday. He has been wanting wings, but I am sick of pizza to go with, so need to think of some other things.
It's way too hot for chili or soup, and he doesn't want to fuss with birgers or brats on the grill, so I am trying to think of some easy to make and/or make ahead things.
I saw a video of some smoked sausage pieces wrapped in bacon and smoked and then jalapeño cream cheese put on the top, but DH isn't crazy about cream cheese so I am thinking maybe topping with a bit of onion jam instead.
I am making vegetarian buffalo chicken dip for DD.
I did ask DD if we needed to pretend we are at the Grove and put on our best sundresses and get out the china to eat on (Go Landsharks, LOL).
What are y'all serving Saturday and what are your favorite easy to make game watching foods?

We go to all of the University of Oklahoma's home games and host a big tailgate w/ several other families. We pick a theme each game and one family is in charge of the meat and everyone else brings sides and deserts. We all bring beer and wine, of course!
This week's them is "The Sooners are Sizzlin' Hot." We're grilling hot dogs and brats. The sides will include baked beans, potato salad and who knows what else. We usually have anywhere from 50-100 people show up for our tailgate.

We haven't been back since his dad passed away several years ago. Meanwhile, we'll be rooting for Ohio State Saturday night, but haven't figured out the food yet. Go Bucks! <3

The University of Tennessee has their first game Thursday night. I am having a Reuben sandwich and Captain Rodney’s Cheesebake with Fritos Scoops. GO VOLS!

Seven Layer Taco Dip is a fan favorite here. You could do crockpot BBQ.
We will have games on all day and night. Alabama plays at 6:30. GameDay at 8 am while I'm eating breakfast.

TCU plays Friday night on ESPN. I usually make one of my favorite dips, snacks and/or meal for significant sports events. But - I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m usually wayyyyy too excited to eat or enjoy the food. I think I will change it up and eat a favorite food - before - the game starts. 🏈🏈
