Hi everyone! I did a whole lot of sleeping last night ... went to bed early and got up a couple of times (normal for me) and got up for good 10 hours later ... the most sleep I have had since I went back to work! I'll be going to Starbucks to get my unsweetened black iced tea with no ice soon ... then go to pick up a few groceries ... liquid mainly since I now receive a Hello Fresh box on Sundays as well as my gourmet salad box for lunches ... my fridge ends up stuffed! I'm going to my mum's with my dd's for Scrabble at 3:30 pm and then we are going out for dinner ... no idea what I'll have ... maybe fajitas Calgary is going through a heatwave and it sucks because the air conditioning in my car is on the fritz I posted this on Facebook today (sorry so big!) : What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

It's very cool here this morning. It rained pretty good last night and this morning and our forecast wasn't even calling for rain. Today is supposed to be a high of 74 and cloudy. So perfect weather for a BBQ. Now just pray for me that we don't have more rain.
Everyone is set to come at 3pm. We will have a bunch of typical BBQ food and lots of snacks. Jeremy made breakfast this morning. And now I'm going to mop my dining room floor. I did not do that yesterday because I wanted it to be fresh today. My floor is a vinyl plank and wasn't cheap either but shows every single footprint and marking about 10 seconds after it's clean. It just never looks fantastic. Hence my last minute cleaning of it. Then I will take a shower.
I need to make macaroni and cheese before everyone gets here too. Jeremy insisted on it. I really did not want to have to prepare anything. But I will for him.
My anxiety this morning is through the roof. I know it will be alright. I just need to keep telling myself that.

Good Morning! I’m taking it easy today. I started having foot/heel pain last week. It is so bad today, I can barely walk. Think I’ll just hang out in my scrap room. Dinner is going to be rechauffe tonight. I love Starbucks ice tea leannec. I hope you enjoy the BBQ jeremysgirl. I know how stressed you are about having everyone over. If you need to take a break, remove yourself from everyone for a few minutes. They will understand. I will keep you in my thoughts today. Have a great day, my friends!

It's already too hot and it's not even 9 AM yet. My LSU Tigers play this afternoon so I've got my t-shirt on and the flag out in the front. We might have Teriyaki chicken as it doesn't requite lighting the oven.

Good Morning....I was up early and decided instead of going and walking the lake or a bike ride I went to the beach and walked 5 miles It was absolutely beautiful...perfect weather...I just had a light nylon jacket which I had to take off after 2.5 miles....I got a couple of great pictures of the sun and clouds however I do not know how to post pix here....or how to quote for that matter...I need my DS here to give me lessons😱 I also went and got my car washed and vacuumed out...It now looks amazing😊😊
Dinner will be ribs that my DH rubbed with his rib rub yesterday, I have the potatoes cooked and cooling for potato salad and I have the dressing made for the cole slaw. I'm sure there are tomatoes that need picking, to go with the meal😊

leannec , Enjoy scrabble and dinner. So glad you got a good night's sleep last night. jeremysgirl , please remind yourself how much fun you had when you hosted things at your house. I'm guessing that there's a little guilt going on and that's part of this. Guilt doesn't apply here. You are entitled to have fun and Esther would want that for you. Meanwhile, take today one bit at a time. While you're getting ready put on music that you love and pretend that you're fine. Act as-if today. Go back to the times that you entertained and had a really fun day. Imagine that this is one of those days. When you have a panic attack do some deep breathing and focus on something else. You have more control than you think. No one expects you to be happy and thrilled at this point. Just be yourself and if you get sad then be sad. It's Ok. You don't have to hide anything. Everyone coming knows that you miss Esther. Let your friends be there for you. If you find that you're enjoying a moment then go w/that. It's healthy to do so. This is a healing step.
This afternoon we're gonna watch Elvis while it sizzles outside. Dinner is tacos. There will not be much cooking over the next 2 nights due to a punishing heatwave.
Enjoy today, my lovely tribe.

All good feedback scrapmaven. I'm working on making the macaroni and cheese right now. I did mop my dining room floor. My sister will be here in an hour to help me finish things off. And then everyone else an hour after that.

My anxiety this morning is through the roof. I know it will be alright. I just need to keep telling myself that. If you need to disappear into your bedroom for half an hour to get away from the "peopleing" do it! I'm a master at that! Try to have fun but don't feel obligated to make sure others have fun ...

jeremysgirl, how I wish I could be there to help support you and eat that mac and cheese. Homemade mac and cheese is the best food ever.

Yeah to a long sleep, leannec! I wonder how much your body letting go of the "when will we get an offer" stress is a factor? Hugs, jeremysgirl, you will get through this afternoon. And if you need a break or have a breakdown, that's okay. I wish I was walking your beach this morning, karenlou. It was 82ºF/28ºC before the sun rose here this morning. The weather app said our high would be 93 then and every time I've checked they've added a few degrees, finally just admitting it will be at least 100! I think tonight might be a first for us and we will let the AC run all night if needed. Dinner will be a Greek salad, hummus, tzatziki and pita bread.

We went hiking in between rain systems. Surprisingly there were a few spots with clouds in the trees. We opted for the 3.5 mile hike as opposed to the 9 mile. My sil likes to take the backroads home which are equally hilly. I was carsick and now I can’t shake it. Dh made ribs. The girls are making sides. I’m having chicken and cauliflower rice if I feel up to it. I hope your bbq is going well jeremysgirlDelta Dawn it’s going to be in the 60s here tonight and I’ll be cold. karenlou a beach walk sounds nice.

Today DH and I visited a friend in the hospital. He was our best man 34 years ago. He recently fell down his stairs and was paralyzed. He's had surgery and is gradually regaining the feeling in his legs. He's doing rehab but has a long road to recovery ahead.
Rainy days are are perfect for reading on the deck, which is how I spent the afternoon. I have an overflow of books that I'm trying to get through. I have two ladder type bookshelves that are full and I just ordered another one which will arrive on Tuesday.
Supper tonight was takeout pizza from Pizza Hut.

Hi, Peas! Today is a continued decluttering/cleaning day for me. We went to church this morning, and now I'm about to put away some long overdue seasonal decorations and begin pulling out my fall items. I'm hoping it helps me to feel I'm making progress. This has been a very long process and it's far from over. I can't recommend living somewhere (and accumulating so much stuff) for 22 years! Tonight is rechauffe for the chicken, apple and gouda sausages from Costco, along with the leftover hotdogs, mac and cheese and Buckeye pie. It all made for a delicious dinner last night, so I'm actually looking forward to it. Going to visit DD at her university tomorrow, so I also need to make sure I have everything gathered that I need to take to her. I'm excited to see her, even though it's only been two weeks since she left. Seems like much longer! Here's to hugs from my sweet girl, coming right up! ETA: stormsts, I'm a big fan of Starbucks iced tea, too. I love to get the black tea with no water and then add a splash of passion. So refreshing! jeremysgirl, hope all went well for you today!

Today is a lazy day of reading, videos, playing with the dog and naps for all of us! I really need to go to the store to pick up something for dinner. My Italian parsley we just planted got root rot and died and my long standing plant is on its way out. I was thinking of making puttanesca but am leaning towards pizza. We'll see.
The little wonder is becoming much more of a snuggler to our delight. His favorite person to nap with is DS BUT if the AC is on he lies on the vent.

so Hi everyone.. off the list for two weeks while out of town. I can read but not post on phone, and didn't even read much. also did not eat much while out of town.. lots of missed meals, almost no cooking, some takeout.
visited my mother in law in care home (going very well), went camping (too hot for backpacking, went on hike on Mt. Rainier) and did various stuff. tonight, maybe I will got to store and get some chicken and veggies for curry. we will see. yesterday, I left washington state at 6:10 am, in the rain, and caught a ferry and drove south. rain stopped at chehalis. then stopped for a bit in eugene to see friends. I just gave one of them kids sleeping bags for a baby present (she is expecting twins in a few months) and they were thrilled with gifts. then at ashland, I stopped for gas and the highway sign said I-5 closed at Weed CA due to fire. so I ended up driving north to medford, south to eureka. about 2 miles from coast, in the dark, I was the 4th person to stop at a tree that had crashed on the highway. we all got out of the cars and were clearing the road. that was fun.
I got home at 4:30 am, unloaded the car and went to bed. can't believe I am awake now.

It was Father's Day here on Sunday. My sis-in-law had booked dinner at a pub for my in-laws side of the family. And co-incidentally my sis-in-law / brother's wife booked a table at the same pub for her side of the family, as well as my dad and stepmum. I spent the night back and forth between both tables. I'd already seen my dad twice during the day, otherwise I would have swapped seats with my nephew and gone to sit at dad's table.
I was tossing up between the lamb and the salmon. I ended up ordering the four point lamb rack with mint jus, crushed potato, and broccolini. It was okay, but a bit disappointing. I should have had the salmon! Just as well I'm cooking lamb again on Tuesday to make up for it. And it was expensive (for a pub meal) - $45.
JG, I hope your day ended up going well, and it wasn't too overwhelming for you.

Today has been an awful day and the dog has bitten me to death. I know it’s just a phase but I am ready to be pet-free. If you saw us in the morning we are all snuggly and come noon out come the teeth.
