Yes but I almost always regret it. Except things like leggings, joggers, some t shirts. This happened to me. I almost always buy multiples of clothes that I love. Light pink used to be my signature clothes color. I liked the crew neck tees at Kohl’s. One day I noticed that they were on clearance. Yay. They had 8 pink ones in my size, and I happily bought them all. Well, something about them had changed. They all shrunk up horribly. I now where them to sleep in. 😕

No. That would be boring.
I don’t wear jeans. I don’t wear tshirts. I don’t wear many neutrals.
I tend to only buy clothes that are unique, fancy, special. It would be pointless to buy multiples of them. I don’t think I’ve ever worn something often enough to wear it out and need another one.

I stumbled on a pair of leggings online from a store that closed here in town. I loved them so much I ordered several more pairs of them, in black and grey. Then they came out with capri length so I ordered several pairs of those. I wear them daily since I work at home!

Yup! All.The.Time! I hate shopping for clothes, especially pants and shoes. I’m short and have trouble finding pants that fit right, so when I find something that works I’ll buy like 4-6 pairs. What drives me crazy about buying pants I like in different colors is that I’ve found the different colors don’t usually fit the same even if it’s the exact same size and style. I can buy regular blue denim in my usual size, but the dark wash, black, white or any other color will *always* be too small. I always have to size up for those which makes absolutely no sense.
When I find t-shirts that fit the way I like, I will buy multiples in every color I like, especially if they’re on sale or clearance. When I find shirts I like in my favorite shade of pink, I’ve been known to get six in that color alone. Nothing makes me sadder than having something I like in my favorite color that wears out and when I go to get another one that color isn’t “in” anymore and I can’t find it anywhere. Duluth Trading is notorious for never having a consistent range of colors for their shirts, and half the time the colors they do have are butt ugly. When I find the Tek Gear shirts I like on sale at Kohl’s I’ll order the ones I want online so I can be sure to get the size and colors I want because I never have luck finding anything the right sizes and colors in store.
I have hardware in my foot so I have custom orthotics that don’t sit very well in most shoes. I can’t wear anything with a heel at all and most dress shoes in general are also a no-go because even if they’re flat and wide they still tend to be too narrow. After trying on dozens and dozens of pairs of casual athletic shoes, I found Rocket Dog Jazzins that work out perfectly with my orthotics. I have three pairs that are just about ready for the trash because I literally wore the soles off them. I have two other pairs that are in current rotation, two more pairs that are basically new and two more pairs that I just ordered to replace some that are going in the trash.
I find that rather than being boring, it makes getting dressed faster and easier most days because I really don’t need to think too much about it. I just have to pick something appropriate for that day’s weather (long or short sleeves, long pants or shorts, maybe a hoodie—which I also have multiples of in multiple colors) and that’s clean and I’m good to go.
ETA: When I was pregnant I needed to get some maternity pants and had one hell of a time finding anything that fit, not to mention fit AND looked halfway decent. I decided I was going to go buy some cheap used jeans at Goodwill and retrofit them with a maternity panel myself. Found some great looking jeans with really nice denim fabric in a brand I had never heard of. They would fit perfect if they were maternity and they were only like $5. Of course there was only one pair. Bought them, bought some similarly colored knit fabric and wide elastic, cut them up and did my sewing magic and they were AWESOME. I loved those pants so much that I thought I’d try to find some anywhere else to wear after I was back in regular clothes. Yeah, NO. The store that sold them originally had discontinued carrying that brand and I couldn’t find them anywhere online either, not new or used. It was such a disappointment.

I have so many Eddie Bauer t-shirts in various colors and sleeve lengths. They are a basic in my wardrobe. Some have been with me so long that they are a looser fit because that was the style when I bought them. They may get stained and have to be retired, but they never wear out.
If I find pants I really like, I will usually get them in both black and navy. Sometimes gray or brown also.

Absolutely. If I find something that fits and I can find it in multiple colors I do.

I buy multiples all the time. Especially for t-shirts. I dress pretty simple. T-shirt/jeans or shorts.

Only things I really love. Thinking about it they’re all bottoms.
Athleta joggers & leggings. And some Anthropologie items that all seem to be Pilcro brand.
I have bought Lucy brand workout shorts on Poshmark. NWT only. That brand was discontinued after North Face bought them.
Tops not so much.

I sure do! Most recently, I’m liking some sleeveless cotton dresses from Lands End. I only wear them at home but I love them. I’ve got about 8 of them.

I do. I've bought multiples of the same exact pattern capri leggings. From Walmart, at the time they were $7. I loved the pattern. I got them about four years ago, and still wear the first pair.
When I look through my scrapbook, I see clothes that were my favorite. I either changed sizes, they got torn or stained, it got worn out, etc...and had to be tossed.
If I had thought about it or known, how perimenopause would change my shape and size....I would have bought bigger sizes of favorite things, to have for future use.

I do it all the time. I had the same dress pants in every color. I mixed and matched with cardigans and tees, many of which were the same. Add different jewelry and no one knows.

Yes, if it is a basic piece that can be used for layering, etc. I have. A hard time finding t-shirts that I love the way they fit that if I found one I would buy all the colors I like.

Oh, I absolutely do this! The vast majority of my wardrobe is multiples of an item in different colors, sleeve lengths, necklines, pant lengths (cropped vs. full leg for instance), etc. If I find something I really love I buy it until it isn't available anymore. And in some brands, like Lands End or LL Bean, I've found I can keep rebuying the same item for years, which I really love.

Yes! I found these old navy tech shorts and ended up buying 4 pairs in different colors. They are so nice and not jean material.

Yes. I have two pair of Columbia capris that are perfect for travel and three (used to be four, but one got stained for a hair coloring session) of their blouses to match. They are so lightweight, they can be washed in the sink and will dry overnight in the hotel bathroom.

But really, is it that no one knows or is it that no one cares? Honestly, even if I worked directly with someone day after day, unless they came to work noticeably stinky it would take me a while before I would even notice that they were wearing the exact same thing, much less different colors of the same garment. I think in general a lot of people imagine that other people care a lot more about this stuff than they actually do. In my experience, in general people are so concerned about their own appearance that they never even notice anything about anyone else. Plus take for example people like Steve Jobs or Mark Zuckerberg who had/have a literal closet full of the exact same items and they dress the same every single day. Supposedly information overload leads to decision fatigue and wearing the exact same “uniform” every day means you have one less decision to make.

I have a few things that I've purchased in alllll the colours ... from Loft, their 'dressy' jersey tank with the gathering at the neck and band at the bottom (I think I have 7 or 8 different colours and patterns) and their short/capped sleeved tee with elastic/gathering at the shoulders (only 3 different colours of that one), and then from H&M I have 3 or 4 different colours of their fleece shorts because they have POCKETS!! Oh, and I just bought another 3 pairs of Vionic Pismo and Malibu canvas sneakers because I loved the 2 pairs I got last year. The only thing I might have multiples of that are identical are things like black/white/navy tees because they are my staples (they go great under a cardigan, and what kind of retired librarian wouldn't have an entire wardrobe full of cardigans?!) and it's surprisingly hard to find one that I love the fabric and fit of, so when I do, you'd better believe I get more than one!

Absolutely! Pants/jeans especially. I have a favorite tank from Target that makes my shoulders look fantastic and I own it in EVERY color... two in black.

Absolutely. If it’s good quality, good fit, good price, and flattering, I buy at least two. I used to live in Hong Kong. My friends and I regularly went to Shenzhen to have our favorite clothes copied. I had five copies made of my favorite dress in different fabrics. I love them!

I never even considered such a thing was possible! Especially when whatever it is that you loved is no longer being sold at the store where you purchased it. And I could see getting a couple of tweaks in the replacement piece such as pockets added to something that didn't have them originally.

I found a T shirt I like and bought several for when this falls apart in the laundry or I stain it. The sleeve has just a little flutter. I got a few in black and one extra in a rust color.
What I didn’t anticipate was losing enough weight that the shirt looks too big on me.
