I had some paperwork I needed to complete after DH's death and the purchase of townhouse.
I have completed most of it in the last week. WHEW!
It included removing his name from our money market account, rolling over his IRA, filing for homestead on my new house, and yesterday wire transferring funds to pay down my mortgage on the new house.

That’s great!
I’ve been procrastinating a lot lately. I have a lot of time today and really need to focus on getting things done for work as well as cleaning.

Well done!
My answer is absolutely nothing! We moved house almost 2 months ago, and I have spent 3 weeks since then visiting family in another country, and my craft room is a total mess, but I just can't get motivated to start on organising it. I go into the room, look around, decide I don't know where/how to start, and give up. I have 3 new knitting projects and 3 works in progress, and I am not motivated to work on any of them. Hopefully, my mojo will return soon.

I finally hired someone to cut down some dead limbs and trim up my trees....I've been putting that off for probably 2 years now...it was past time, but I just wanted to find a trustworthy person who would do a good job and not charge an arm and a leg.

I managed to get started on everything I need to have my parents' ashes put in the columbarium at Arlington National Cemetery. So. Many. Papers. required. Which is as it should be...I'm not complaining about the requirements, just that it's a lot. Thankfully my dad had a folder with most of the important things -- honorable discharge, marriage certificate, my mom's citizenship papers, etc. The marriage certificate is especially important because they weren't married in the USA.

I went thru 60+ years of photographs, travel memorabilia and similar items. I kept all of the negatives and cd photos but threw out a lot of the photos.
I was able to sort thru the many maps, brochures and other stuff from my many travels. I found my personal travel logs (at each rest stop I would write down the time, miles driven, price of gas) and found this to be very interesting to read.
This was a huge, personal task but I powered thru it. So happy that 3 large Rubberaid containers are now down to 1 smaller container.
Does anyone want a map of Las Vegas strip from 1993? Things have changed over the years. I kept most maps, especially of European cities, as the major motorways don't change, but the suburbs do expand.
I am now going thru my clothing as I will be going to Cuba this winter. The people there have very little in variety of clothing. I bring down my carry-on and 1 piece of luggage and return with just the carry-on. I bring clothes that I won't wear again, kids clothing from my dgc (that they have out-grown), otc medication, granola bars, hard candies, feminine products and beauty items. This is a small way that I can help the people who simply happened to be born there, out of their control. It is so appreciated, especially epi-pens.

I woke up Monday and decided that this 15 minute here and there cleaning wasn’t working anymore and that the house needed a good out-fashioned floor to ceiling going over. I started with the master bedroom & bath and I didn’t miss a spot, I even took the screens out of the windows and scrubbed them down. By the time I finished Tuesday you needed sunglasses to walk in there, it sparkled. Had to run dad around yesterday for some dr appts but today I’m doing his room and bathroom. If I stick to my plan this whole house should be gleaming by the end of next week.

My vehicle has been out of commission for probably a couple of months. The drive shaft where it goes into the rear axle is wobbly and unsafe. (I work from home and we have a second vehicle so it wasn't really urgent.) I've been meaning to have it towed to the garage and fixed. I kept putting it off. But I don't like being stuck at home when DH is at work if I need to run to the store or a doctor's appointment. So I finally called the garage this morning to see if they could look at it today or tomorrow. They're busy and told me to try next Monday. Lesson learned to not procrastinate! (Ok, probably not)

I always think that this should be my plan but then I get sidetracked and start doing something else in another room. lol I just need to do a little in each room each day until it's done and then move on to another room.

1. Wash my truck inside and out. Especially the inside windows. And get the dog hair out off the back of the seats. A St. Bernard causes havoc on a vehicle. So gross.. lol.. Bless his heart. 2. Take a pile of stuff that has been sitting by the door to my daughter. 3. Clean out bedroom closet (my work recently changed it's dress code to more relaxed stuff like jeans, hoodies and so forth) So I want to get rid of some of my work clothes that I wasn't that fond of but kept for backup stuff. I think I will just store them just in case I move to another job within the state and will need them again. 4. Mail package to sister.
So far if I get that stuff done, I'll be happy.
Edited cause apparently I can't read.. I NEED to get this stuff done over my weekend.

I'll take care of that for you! yes, please. for some reason i hate banking business. i don't even like online deposits. i know it doesn't take anytime and it's so convenient but i still taking time to do it. MIL always writes me a check for xmas and birthdays and i let it sit there for months before i even do anything with it. also, DH got annoyed when he found a bunch of dividend checks in the trunk of my car that i never deposited.

Went through ALL my fabric--got a garbage bag full to donate to my niece. Also, started working on quilt tops--I've got 6 ready to quilt--tops, batting, backing all ready to go. I'm going to do the smaller ones (42" x 56"), then decide if I'll do the larger ones or send them out. I also went this morning to the SPCA Thrift shop and donated almost all my stamping supplies, punches, and some knitting & sewing books. I had culled these a while ago and they've just been waiting to be donated--so, now it's done.

Cleaned up my scrapbook room. It had, once again become a dumping ground for stuff I didn't know what to do with. Like a few framed pictures I was indecisive about hanging in the house.
Started with getting those pics finally hung. Then I surveyed that wreck of a room, made a big cuppa Joe, put some YT videos on the tv and got to work. When I was all done with the clean up I was so pleased with my once again pretty room that I decided to scrap a page...and then another..and another.
This was last week and I'm back on the SB train. Just subbed to Shimelle's latest workshops, just hit send on a SB dotcom order. Its amazing what happens when you stop procrastinating how things can just get rolling down the track again.
I hadn't scrapbooked since Dec 2019 when my sweet brother died suddenly, and then we went right into COVID. I'm ready again.
Next on my procrastinating list is a dry cleaners run for the big stuff.

Reached out to attorney for prenup. I think I missed an announcement?... I had completely forgotten that we needed to reroof an outbuilding until it poured rain over the weekend so I reached out to a roofer to get this project started. There was a little procrastination in there also as the building also needs some other cosmetic work which I had noticed but tried to ignore. I've reminded a relative who does that kind of work for us that I need to move the building repairs up on the list.

This is not really important, but I took out all of my table linens and refolded them, hung them up and got them organized. The amount of fabric napkins + runners I had for my dining table was nuts.

Wrote 2 thank you notes to two of my dearest friends for the birthday gifts(3 weeks ago). I just wanted to make sure they were very heartfelt, because they really touched my heart this year.

Went through a big bag of hand me down toddler shoes from a friend and pulled out the ones I want to keep and set aside the ones to donate. Still procrastinating that trip to drop off the donations.

I applied to a yearlong college course that will give me an additional endorsement on my teaching credential (I'm also doing another one with the same school).
I submitted an innovative teacher grant (that I also won last year).
Both today. Relief. Weights lifted.

Ok, I got a lot done today. I did quite a bit of cleaning, some paperwork for work, got some of my fall/winter clothes out, etc. I still have things that I need to do and hope I can be as productive tomorrow.

I need to pay someone to come and clean the gutters as I can't reach the second story on my house, I've called two companies in the last couple of days to get quotes. I've also organised two different painters to quote painting upstairs so I can finally get that task checked off my to do list as well.

Doesn't it feel satisfying? Well done everyone.
I've finally sorted out changing the deeds of our house into joint names after 21 years. I started doing it umpteen times, but it was so complicated and just kept getting more and more complicated, and it got shelved. I've finished the forms, now we just have to get photographs taken and witnessed, then we meet with a notary in a couple of weeks to get all the paperwork signed and sent off. I don't think it matters legally, but it bothers DH.
