Dh just called.
He ordered these pocket reference manuals for the 26 guys. I just gave him the *really, that's it?* look over the phone. Oh, and he needs a decent but not even remotely flirtatious gift for one girl. So, now I get to figure out something relatively inexpensive to get for 27 people and have by the 15th. And the girly gift - she's an office assistant iirc.
The guys are mostly blue-collar - I had the split second thought of a bunch of lottery tickets, but that's a bit too weird. Can't do alcohol. Is there a jerky of the month club? I understand they are a gift that "keeps on giving, Clark"......
HELP!!!!!! Please!

The jerky stuff I've seen on line has been expensive. What's your budget?

You'd think he'd tell me that. I'll text him.

Heck all the guys I know would like homemade cookies or brownies or some other sweet treat. Our Lowes also has cool packages of tools, but they might be on the already have list.
For the lady, I'd do a scarf or a candle. Maybe a pair of slippers?

For the guys, I'd do a cookie tin or something that they can either eat themselves, or bring to a celebration. For the girl, same thing and maybe something nice for her desk if that's appropriate space-wise.

What are the pocket reference books about? It makes me curious as to why a woman would not receive on as well? Depending on the budget, adding a box of holiday candy would be nice or a Starbucks GC.

One time a supervisor gave everyone in the building ( 200 people) a 5 dollar gift certificate to Panera Bread. Everyone loved it! It is so much nicer than say McDonalds.

Gift certificates. My dad used to give employees and clients locally made "honeybaked" ham--it's just the grocery store ham that has a brown sugar/honey glaze baked on with a blow torch. They were amazing. Cost about $30 each--I have no idea how much of a volume discount he got, but I know he was one of the larger single ham orders of the year.

I like the gift certificate idea. Dunkin Donuts sounds like a winner! Coffee OR donuts so isn't a big deal if they don't drink coffee. I'd probably give the female assistant the same thing.

Maybe I was a horrible boss but this is the reason I did not give gifts to my employees, it would either be cheap junk or too expensive for that many. I might bring cookies into the office and also give out bags of candy I got at Costco and call it a day, so the people who were remote wouldn't feel that bad that they missed out. I did give gifts if someone gave me something first though.
My boss gave us all think geek gift certs, I think $40 per person, clearly I didn't make the same salary he did!

why not the lottery tickets, I thought that sounds like a great idea. Or a gift card, you could even do one to the local grocery store.

Well, it's a moot point now (management decided they didn't want to put out any extra money -the book is only $5).
The girl won't be getting a reference book because she is an office assistant, and the reference book is very technical. I'm trying to find something small for her.
