I didn't want to derail the other thread, but you said:
I want to say that I really don’t want it to be autumn/winter - I feel the cold so much, I hate being cold and even with extra layers on my nose and fingers are always cold. I hate big bulky layered up clothing and I just want to get up, grab a t-shirt and some flip flops and be done. So there!
You and all of the other cold hating Peas are cordially invited to come enjoy or weather. I'll even be happy to host a BBQ.
On Wednesday we not only broke the high temp record (102 ugh!) it also broke the record for the latest day of the year to go past 100.
Last week we had False Fall. It was so lovely, cooler temps (yes, 80s to us is lovely) and a bit breezy.
Now we are back again. I am tired of sweating, sick of shorts and sleeveless shirts and dresses. I want to wear a hoodie or some jeans and boots.
Here we never put all of our summer clothes away because we usually have to pull out shorts or flip flops at least once in December.
Where are you that you are getting cooler weather? I am kind of jealous. Maybe we could do a swap like that movie.
Y'all keep posting about your colder weather so I can hear all about it!

I can’t imagine never putting my summer clothes away. I’m in England so I might not mind so much if our winters were crisp and bright etc but often it’s just months of cold, grey rain - ugh. Whereabouts are you?
P.S.I’m up for a bbq if you’re hosting? I can bring some nice English treats 😊

That is why I love this part of California. Average summer temps are high 70’s, average winter temps are in the low 60’s. Of course, this summer was miserable with the heat and humidity, but thankfully it is over! We are still going to warm up this week, but without the humidity. Still wearing shorts and sandals going into October.

I never put up any clothes, and don't own what many would call a winter wardrobe. There are many years I've worn shorts at Thanksgiving and most Halloweens I'm in shorts and a t-shirt for trick-or-treating. My winter clothes are a couple of pairs jeans, that get worn with a t-shirt and cardigan or if it's "really" cold, an actual sweater.
We tend to travel to Europe in late autumn, and we layer up. I do have a light weight puffy jacket, but otherwise no winter coat.
I have frost nibbled toes from being in the army, and they are always cold, and my hands tend to be kind of creepy warm all of the time.
I'm in So Cal. And you are all welcome to visit. We often barbecue for Christmas.

Well, generally I love colder weather. I love putting on thick cosy socks and boots, warm jumpers and a heavy coat. I’m not looking forward to this winter very much though because of how much energy prices have jumped. ☹️

I am in Memphis/Mid-South.
It is nice if you like to travel by car because within six hours you can be any number of places (Nashville, Chattanooga/mountains, St. Louis, Little Rock, New Orleans, Gulf coast/beaches).
However, I hate that we don't get 4 seasons per year. There's a meme that goes around every year describing our seasons: Winter Fool's Spring Second winter Third winter The Pollening Actual Spring Summer Hell's Front Porch False Fall Second Summer Actual Fall
Right now we are enjoying Second Summer. Might not get Actual Fall until the end of October/early November. Some "seasons" might only last a week or so before we are on to the next.
Happy to host the Peas for a BBQ. Just remember down here BBQ does not mean hamburgers and hot dogs. That is a cookout. Here BBQ is pork. Juicy, tasty pig. If you want beef, head to Texas.
Thanks to GBBO I can now make a pretty fantastic scone, but my Victoria Sandwich still comes out a tad dry.

Still wearing shorts and sandals going into October. In my part of Orange County California, we will be back to the low 90s next week with 94 being the predicted hottest day. Then we move to the higher 70s the week after that. I need a cold snap so that I can dig up the rose plant that I am moving with me.

Here in DFW it's going to be around 98 all weekend and then dropping to the 80s next week. I was lovingly looking at flannel shirts at Old Navy yesterday. I'm ready for some cooler weather!

I hate the real cold, i.e., the middle of winter. And this year I've grown tired of summer although usually I like the hot weather. But this bit about days hovering near 100 degrees with humidity to match was just too much. I prefer fall if I could choose... crisp sweater weather, cozy socks, fuzzy blankets, etc.

I am one of those summer haters. I like sunshine but I'm a cold weather person. Fall is my favorite season. We usually plan a camping trip in the fall because we love the cooler temps. No one wants to be hot camping. But this year we planned for Tennessee so we could visit a friend. And he just told me to expect temps in the 70s in the third week of October. Ugh. Not what I envisioned.

I hope there's room for me at the Heat Lovin Pea table! We are three and a half weeks into spring here, and I can't wait for the warm weather. Daylight Savings starts next weekend, and my mood will lift so high!

I like the cold and snow. I don't like 8 months of it and I hate the short days, 6 ish hours of light is not enough!
DD works at the grocery store and she said one day when it was hot here (27C/80F) how everyone hates the heat. I said yeah they really do. When it's -30C/-22F we chipperly say ohh it's cold out there or sure is nippy. But when it's hot, it's a whiney complaining voice, ugg it's so hot, it's just gross.
