The thread about international travel that was recently bumped to see how trips have been going for the Peas reminded me that I never shared our latest travel video here. In July, our extended family took an Alaskan cruise. This was originally planned in 2018 for a 2020 departure to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. Covid obviously derailed that, but we were able to push the trip out a couple of times and finally took the plunge this year after mutually agreeing that if the ship was sailing, we would be on it. Luckily we all got negative covid tests 48 hours prior to sailing, made it onboard, and our trip was a success. 2 of our party of 18 came home with mild cases of covid. To be honest, that was a better outcome than I had expected. We knew it was a substantial risk, but my parents aren't getting any younger (none of us are) so it was a risk we were willing to take. We were also very fortunate that nobody got sick until after we got home, so we didn't lose anyone to quarantine while still onboard.

Great video! Glad you had a great time. Watching it brought back memories of the Alaskan cruise we took. We were originally booked to sail on 09/14/2001. Then 9/11 happened and all cruises stopped. ours was cancelled. We were lucky to get have our cruise money roll over to the next year. Others were not so lucky.
Our ship stopped at Glacier Bay National Park and it was one of the most spectacular things we've ever seen. We also had dolphins and killer whales swim along side the ship. It was a memorable trip for sure.
