Hi everyone! Welcome to October! September went by so fast! This will be my last month in my house ... weird. The home stager is picking up all of the furniture on Tuesday so I'll be living in an empty shell for weeks ... woo hoo. I don't have plans today other than to do a bit of work ... blech! Then, tonight, my girlfriend and I are going to see "Don't Worry Darling" ... my mum and daughters want to see it as well so I'll see this movie twice! Hope it's good I'm thinking dinner will be smuggled in Perrier along with movie theatre popcorn! Speaking of Perrier, this is what I posted on Facebook today ... I absolutely love Perrier and anything made with club soda What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

Good morning leannec. It's going to be a bittersweet month for you, but I'm sure that you're very excited to get settled in your new condo. When will you start shopping for furniture and knick knacks? Do you have a color scheme? Is it turnkey? Ok, I'll shut up! lucyg, I like the way you think. Today I need to clean off my desk top so that I can finally play w/my new Cricut Joy. First, I have a grocery pickup. Most of the day will probably be spent resting. Tonight we're watching ELVIS. Dh made pizza dough last night and will enjoy homemade pizza tonight. The weather is supposed to be perfect today. Enjoy your day, my lovelies. May a day of fun and relaxation be yours.

Hi leannec. I, too, am blown away it is October. Where did the year go? I think I am going to clean out Esther's room today. I think I had a sign that it is time to open the door. I just realized how foolish it was of me to put on my eye cream. So I'm trying to let it soak in before I go in there. She's been gone almost 6 months now and even though I keep telling myself that one of these days she will open the door and walk out of there, it's not going to happen. So I think it is time to turn her room into a place I can scrapbook. Honestly my BFF said that it would probably please Esther if I was using the room to do something I love. So I'm going to try today. We will be having pork stir fry for dinner tonight.

You will feel her love in that room. Keeping you in my thoughts today as you open her door and clean her items. leannec I blinked and it went from Sept 1st to Oct 1st. Crazy! This time of year seems to always fly by. Then Jan - April it is super slow. Then May and June fly by.

Boring Saturday here. We did grocery shopping this morning - had to be sure to be well stocked with a long weekend ahead of us. I planned to go out to walk just after lunch, but it started raining when I was ready to go, so I had to wait a bit for it to slow down to a drizzle to go out. I still got a bit wet, but not too bad. Then there was football on TV all afternoon, so more knitting happened. It is much easier to watch when my team isn't playing - we played last night, and I kept having to stop when things got exciting. Dinner tonight is one of DH's new German specialties - rinderrouladen - rolled stuffed beef, similar to 'beef olives'. We will have them with loads of vegetables and cheese spätzle. jeremysgirl - I think it is a great idea to turn Esther's old room into a place you can use for something you love. I wish you strength as you begin this task. leannec - I am also shaking my head at it being October already. But on the upside for me - it makes it just that much closer to when I get to see my precious baby girls again. I am also a fan of carbonated water - it is pretty much the default option here in Germany if you order water at a restaurant, and I am so used to it that I miss it when I go home.

Another one on the I can’t believe it’s October boat. It’s crazy how fast September went by.
I went out and got a much needed haircut this morning and now I’m home and planning to craft all day. I’m currently addressing cards for the swap.
Dinner will be chicken soup. I haven’t decided what I’m going to put in it yet but I’m guessing it will just be vegetables and chicken. I’ve been successfully eliminating added sugar and bread from my diet for the past month.

A rainy day. It really feels like fall is settling in.
We'll have spaghetti with meat sauce, salad and garlic bread. I need to puck up some spaghetti.
The eternal remodel continues, but at least the compressor has returned to the garage!

Good morning leannec. It's going to be a bittersweet month for you, but I'm sure that you're very excited to get settled in your new condo. When will you start shopping for furniture and knick knacks? Do you have a color scheme? Is it turnkey? Ok, I'll shut up! I have been looking online at furniture but I can't buy anything until I get the money from my house! Colour scheme is white and blue with touches of wood because of my mid-century modern credenza and the stupid piano! It will be years before it is coordinated. It is turnkey! I think I am going to clean out Esther's room today. I think I had a sign that it is time to open the door. I think turning her room into a creative space for you is so great! Dinner will be chicken soup. I haven’t decided what I’m going to put in it yet but I’m guessing it will just be vegetables and chicken. I’ve been successfully eliminating added sugar and bread from my diet for the past month. I always add a bit of fresh lemon juice to my chicken soup ... brightens it up! It's hard to have it without bread ... way to go!

It's almost dinnertime here although we've been getting fed closer to 8:30. I'm sure it will be another 4 course meal. We took 2 very long walks/ hikes today and discovered fun stuff. Can't wait to share pics! My sore throat is pretty much gone.
The traveler we left on day 5 is coming here tomorrow. The woman who tested positive the day before me is going home on Monday, Her Dh flew home today I believe. So sad for them.

An empty house for a few weeks will be tough but make it all real for you, leannec. Are you going to need movers, or be able to get the boxes and few pieces left moved with the help of family/friends? I think your BFF is right, jeremysgirl. Esther would want you to make her room a sanctuary for you to use. It is a weird day for me. I went to bed early (9:30ish?), read for a bit and fell asleep. Woke up, hoping I'd could just roll over and nod off, I didn't look at the time. After maybe 20 minutes realized I was wide awake and really crossed my fingers it was after 5 so I could just get up. It was 12:10. Ugh. My FitBit tells me I went to sleep 2 hours later but I feel like I got no sleep. I have managed to put back the living room after DH & DS moved a heavy piece of furniture back into place (it was moved to have room for the fridge delivery) and think that may be the only thing I really get done today. The plan is a Greek salad, tzatziki and grilled chicken for dinner. I'm passing on seeing Bullet Train with them tonight and will find a romcom on one of our streaming options instead.

Lazy Saturday here. Have a few errands to run, but nothing major. I'm not sure what's for dinner - something with chicken breasts as there are some in the fridge.

Are you going to need movers, or be able to get the boxes and few pieces left moved with the help of family/friends? It is all becoming very REAL now ... since I sold my Dicken's Village yesterday I don't have a lot of stuff but I have hired movers ... they are the ones who work for the home stager so I know they are excellent! They will get everything moved in one trip ... the condo is only about 7 minutes away too! I'll move all of my clothes in my car ... What will be tricky is dealing with the delivery of new stuff once I move ... I'm going to have to get my mum to hang out at my place while I'm at work ... I'll NEED a sofa and kitchen chairs ASAP! I have a "friend" who will help me unpack and hang artwork

Happy Saturday! I will jump on how can it be October train. It is a gorgeous fall day here. I went in to the office for a few hours, back home watching college football. So excited for you and your move leannec. jeremysgirl that is a lovely idea for Esther’s room. I had the same kind of night sleeping bc2ca. Dinner is rechauffe for me tonight. A local church has a baked steak dinner as a fundraiser every year. That is one meal I refuse to cook or eat so DH is headed to get that for carry out.

Dinner for us will be chicken thighs with potatoes & herbs, roasted in the oven. It's finally cool enough here that I don't mind turning the oven on to cook stuff. jeremysgirl, wishing you strength as you work on Esther's room and sift through things. Take it a little at a time; remember there is no timeline. I do agree with the other peas and your BFF who said that she would probably love that you're going to be using that room for something creative that brings you enjoyment. ntsf, so sorry to hear about your brother's wife. Pancreatic cancer is a tough diagnosis (my mom had it).

ntsf I'm so sorry for your SIL. I will keep her in my prayers. I did it. I cleaned out Esther's room and I think I've finally stopped crying. I've got her clothes in the wash and I will package some up for everyone and donate the rest. It felt good to open up the windows in there and air the place out a bit. It was hard. It just seemed so final. That was the last task I had to manage. Thank you for the support. I'm glad I was able to do that today.

Picked up the bear that I had made for my SIL out of my MILs clothes. It turned out really cute and I’m excited to give it to her. I’m expecting some tears.
Going to supper at my best friends place tonight. Yesterday was her birthday. Her husband is a chef so supper at their house is always delicious.

bc2ca, I'm w/you. I slept next to BuzzSaw Bob last night. He doesn't usually snore like that, but I'm guessing he's also exhausted and just not admitting it to himself. We need to sleep well tonight. leannec, please call my ods. He doesn't understand that having a sofa will really make his apartment feel like home. We're even paying for part of the sofa and he still won't get one. jeremysgirl, You did a really healing thing today. It's all about self love and nurturing yourself. I'm looking fwd to hopefully seeing photos of the room once you've set it all up and are ready to create. ntsf, I'm so sorry about your sil. scrappinwithoutpeas, I'm sorry that your mother had to endure this, as well. ((((HUGS)))) to both of you. We'll be here on Monday if you want to type some vents about your oral surgery, ntsf. ICK!

leannec do you have any furniture to live on for the next weeks? This is so sad ... 1700 square feet of house with nothing but four beds, TV with stand and a kitchen table with a couple of chairs! All of my other furniture ... credenza, bookcase, china cabinet and boxes of stuff is in the garage. I seriously have very little ... I got rid of so much old furniture so I can start fresh! Can't wait to shop ... I have a week off from work this month so I'll be hitting furniture stores with my mum.
