Wow if true.
From the very short article…
”North Korea has fired what appears to be a ballistic missile over Japan, the country's Ministry of Defense said Monday.
The government of South Korea confirmed that the Japanese government is warning citizens to take shelter.”

Ok so it fell in the ocean 1860 miles from Japan and was just a test but dang how freakin scary. This was the 5th launch in 10 days and it sounds like they are going to be nuclear a test between now and our mid-term elections - WTF this from a Reuters article my husband just texted me.

Forbes North Korea Fires Rare Missile Over Japan, Prompting Residents To Take Shelter Joe Walsh Forbes Staff I cover breaking news for Forbes. Oct 3, 2022,08:02pm EDT Updated Oct 3, 2022, 08:32pm EDT TOPLINE A North Korean missile flew over Japan before crashing into the Pacific early Tuesday morning, according to the Japanese government, leading residents of some regions to take shelter following one of North Korea’s most obtrusive missile launches in years. *** What to look for: South Korean intelligence officials think North Korea is preparing for a nuclear test as soon as mid-October, Reuters reported last week. It would mark the country’s first nuclear test in five years. Kim declared last month North Korea will not give up its nuclear program, despite the strict sanctions his country has faced for developing the weapons. www.forbes.com/sites/joewalsh/2022/10/03/north-korea-fires-rare-missile-over-japan-prompting-residents-to-take-shelter/amp/

That family has done so much damage to the people of NK. You wonder if someone, somewhere will ever stop them. But the N Koreans are unlikely to. Honestly, Kim is a complete nutter. Sometimes I wonder if he pulls these stunts because he is not getting enough attention.

BBCMy friend in Hokkaido said they heard them but went back to making tea (they’re British!!) I mean, there’s not much you can do if a nuclear missile is on its way. Keep calm and carry on as they say;)

It is true, per morning news.
However, IMO, it just means Kim Jung Un wants some attention. Russia and Ukraine are getting all the news, some China and Taiwan news, and NK is jealous. "We are important!! Look what we can do!"

I'm not kidding - I got iodine pills in the spring, my community was giving them away to certain neighborhoods/work areas, as we are within a 10mi radius of a nuclear plant here in MD. Plus, we live 60ish miles from DC, which I am sure would be a target for a nuke attack. I was extra dumb bc I watched Chernobyl on HBO, and then with Putin capturing Chernobyl and another nuclear facility in Ukraine, I was freaked out.

No iodine for me. I can't take it... In fact, I am not supposed to even use iodized salt.

Ay ay ay, will these egomaniacs just settle the heck down so the rest of the world can go about our lives peacefully? So sick of this ongoing worrying. On the topic of iodine, the following factsheet has notations about taking it over the age of 40. www.webmd.com/first-aid/potassium-iodide-radiation

I had no idea, and I've been living her in Annapolis, MD for 28 years after moving here from Arlington, VA-which I never liked. I've never liked nuclear power-it's good until something goes wrong and when it goes wrong it's horrific. It destroys the environment and all living things around it. Give me green power any day.
