I am participating in a Dance Team alumni event at my university for homecoming and we are supposed to wear leggings. I have never worn leggings before, not flattering at all on me. I am trying to get out of participating just because I am nervous about how I will look! Any advice on brands? I don't know where to begin to look!

I am older, and I like the sketchers brand that I originally bought at Costco, but they didn't have them in yet for this year last time I was there. They are a little longer, and have pockets at the sides. I don't like the ones with sewn cuffs at the bottom of the legs which is the kind they did have at Costco this year. Good luck!

My favorite leggings are Athleta, but they're not cheap. If you are unsure about leggings, I'd recommend going to Old Navy and trying on some of theirs. They're comfortable and decent quality and not too expensive.
What are you expected to wear WITH the leggings? Just curious. Would some other yoga or workout pant be acceptable? (Answer: Of course. If you show up in some other kind of pant, are they really not going to let you attend?)

My fav are Align leggings from Lululemon ... not cheap but last FOREVER! Definitely get a style with pockets on the side.

I think if you might never wear them again I would go to old navy and try some on. I think black is the most flattering. But maybe you’ll end up loving them - then you can splurge on Lululemon or Athleta.

My favorites are from old navy, athleta and lululemon. But TJMaxx also has some nice ones, especially if you are regular height and don’t need petite like I do. Amazon also has a lot of Lululemon dupes but I haven’t tried any yet due to them not coming in petites.

Athleta are my favorites, but the Yogalicious Luxe brand at TJ Maxi are good as well.

Costco has Felina brand leggings. They’re soft and comfortable. I have 2 pairs. I don’t wear them much because they’re full length. I prefer 7/8 or crop or capri length.
I wasn’t a legging person for a long time but now I love my All In Motion brand from Target. My only complaint is no pockets.

Someone on here recommended the Baleaf thermal leggings on Amazon awhile ago. I now have 4 pairs, they are cheap and have the side pocket which I love. I believe they also have regular leggings, which I keep meaning to go look at, but I have actually wore the thermal/insulated ones most of the year. I have a huge selection of leggings and these and my Danskin ones with the side pocket are my favorites. Good luck.

I got a pair from Express which were comfortable and a bit of a thicker material which was great in the colder weather!

I practically live in leggings. I’m short and thick in the middle, so I always buy high waisted and wear a top long enough to to cover my hips.
I love the Baleaf from Amazon. i like the Skechers brand I’ve purchased from Costco, Both of those brands have pockets and are not super heavy, buy have great compression, a must for me. I have a 2 pack of Felina I got from Costco on sale. They were inexpensive. The material is thinner, (but not thin), because of this the compression is less than the Baleaf and Skechers. The pair of Felina I bought a few months ago do not have pockets, for this reason I’m not super fond of them.

I do think yoga or a workout pant would be acceptable. I am clueless about those too! I always buy sweats and jeans a size bigger because I don't like the feel of clothes clinging to me. I know, that probably sounds very strange! And to be honest, even when I was young and in shape I didn't like the spandex outfits that we had to wear for basketball halftimes. (I preferred the short skirts, haha!)
So if you have a yoga/workout pant recommendation, that would work too!

But I like the suggestion of looking for a less expensive pair and if I like them buy the more expensive ones for next time.
