Second Update:
Got the MRI results back today and saw Doctor. He feels certain that it is a meningioma. Not cancerous.
As before it's the place and size that is the problem. He advised that I have the surgery within the next week. He said that the tumor has now become life threatening. His exact words to me were that if you do not do the surgery, this will end your life. Because it is now pressing on the medulla and the C1, the surgery is urgent. He said that the MRI shows there is some involvement with a large vessel so he is not going to attempt to remove all. Hopefully, if all goes well with the surgery, I will have radiation to help shrink the tumor.
Because of where the tumor is located in close proximity to vital functions, he had to be honest that there are some very serious risks with this surgery. He said while the MRI shows so much, he just won't know until he gets in there. He has done these surgeries over a 35 year span and all that we have heard is that he is very, very good.
My fear of not waking up being ME has quickly gone to the fear of not waking up at all.
I am just numb and speechless...don't know what to say.
We are to meet with the anesthesiologist tomorrow and start the preparations. Should know a surgery date within the next two days.

First and foremost, thank you ALL so much for your kind words and thoughts and prayers. I know many of you here have experienced the power and support of the peas and it's just incredible.
You have also given me some very, very good advice. I have started a notebook of questions, but I plan to get a binder like many of you recommended to keep scans/results and everything in. Such a very good idea.
We just came back from having the MRI/contrast done. Had to keep my eyes shut the whole time because I just can't handle the small space. We won't have the results back until Monday mid-day and we will be going straight to the doctor to talk further about next steps.
It still feels surreal. Like this is happening to someone else. I am sure when we get to the discussion part of surgery, it's going to become very real.
My husband and his family have been so amazing and so comforting. My mom and BFF from the States are talking about flying over to be here when I have surgery.
Just going to try and get through the long weekend. The doctor is adamant that I rest as much as possible because of the fluid leak from the compression. Thankfully my Netflix is looooonnnngggg!
I am going to make another post about the symptoms that led me to see the doctor as I believe some of the Peas were curious about that.

OP: Had a dye contrast CT scan done yesterday. It shows that I have a 4.9mm tumor in the lower base of my skull involving the left lateral and sigmoid sinuses. The neurosurgeon is hopeful that it is a "typical meningioma" which is typical benign.
I am to have an MRI done tomorrow to show more detail and precision and the surgeon will discuss our options from there.
While he is concerned about the tumor itself because of it's size, he told us that because the tumor is so big is is pressing on the membranes and causing fluid to leak. He feels that is the more urgent issue at hand.
I am in complete and total shock. Don't think I have processed it yet.
I welcome ANY peas that have had experience with this. I think I am still too shocked to be upset.
