I was in line for the restroom at a mexican restaurant. The line is long enough that we are stringing out into the dining area. (this is NOT a restroom post...)
2 women in the booth nearest the restroom have a margarita containing, I kid you not-- at least 2 jalapenos sliced up, floating on top.
I say to them, "I've seen this on the menu, but never ordered it. I had NO idea they'd include so many peppers! How is it?"
They laugh and the woman it belonged to says, "It's really strong! I ordered this *indicating what looks like a plain old margarita* and poured a little of that (the jalapeno-riddled beverage) into this one. "
Then she shoves an *wrapped* straw toward me, along with the pepper marg, and says "TRY IT!"
Would you have tried it? I totally tried it. It was deliciously strong, tasting like fresh jalapenos, but more of a sipping drink. I can't imagine downing the whole thing.

Absolutely not. But I’m also impressed they were nice enough to even think of sharing!
Side note: the drink sounds delicious!

From someone I knew, yes. Complete stranger, no way.

There is no way I would have tried a strangers drink. Plus I don’t drink margaritas (hate tequila) and I don’t do spice so jalapeño peppers are not appealing to me.

Nope. But I also don’t like margaritas or jalapeños, so there’s that. I’m guessing no one drank it using the straw since she said she poured some from one glass to the other and no one planned on drinking the rest, so why not let someone taste it since it’s just going to be dumped anyway? Totally sounds like something my BFF would do (offer it, not necessarily taste it, although she might do that too, LOL).

No, I wouldn't share a drink with a stranger. And jalapeños--I don't do spicy, so no way.

Yep. I was at a pub in Scotland and said the woman at the next table that her drink looked delicious. She handed me the glass and take “take a sip.” I did, and promptly ordered what she had. I thought it was a kind act.

Not from a stranger's drink. Plus I don't like jalapenos (I do like margaritas though).

I wouldn’t- but I’m also weird about drinking from anyone’s drink. I love jalapeño margaritas, though!

No, but I would have thanked her for the offer and might have ordered one for myself based on their recommendation. I've recommended good choices of food and drink to strangers who have expressed an interest before, and vice versa, but there were never offers of sharing.

Probably yes, especially with a new straw and a few beverages consumed (and I wouldn’t think anything of it). 🤷🏻♀️😄

No. I have been a germaphobe since before COVID, so the answer would have always been no. But you also never know if someone has slipped something in a drink.

I would have thought that is was very nice she offered, but I don’t even drink out of my DH’s glass so I would have declined.

I would've. I'm not really a fan of spicy drinks but I'd be curious enough to try a spicy margarita. It would have to be someone else's though.

It would be a game-time decision for me. In the circumstance you described, I could see myself possibly taking a sip. My friends and I try each other's drinks all the time.

I would not have tried a drink from a stranger. I always err on the side of distrust. However, I've always appreciated your fun side.
