I know, the title is super vague, ha.
I'm hosting a pretty big gathering for Halloween and wanted to have something like a crock pot meatball appetizer (something warm but goes in a crock pot so I don't need chafing trays).
However, I wanted to do something a little different than the typical BBQ sauce or grape jelly meatballs. Does anyone have any recipes that are a twist on that or something different altogether but fits the bill?

I don’t have a specific recipe but i absolutely love Moroccan (or Greek) meatballs - especially if it’s a mixture of lamb and beef.

I make Italian seasoned meatballs with a mozzarella pearl inside, but my go-to recipe is The Pioneer Woman’s Potluck Meatballs. I’ve never had leftovers. If you want to be fun and can serve them in under 2 hours, I’ve made hamburger appetizers that are very popular. You add a lettuce square, a piece of bacon, a square of cheese, and a cherry tomato half on a skewer and poke it into the meatball. I make the skewers ahead of time, heat the meatballs, and assemble them in minutes. They are very popular with kids.

Frozen meatballs (Kirkland brand from Costco) and your favorite bbq sauce. Put in Crockpot and turn on to low for a few hours.
Frozen meatballs and an apricot pepper sauce. We get it locally from Farmers Market.

I make a super simple crockpot meatball everyone loves: Bag of frozen meatballs In a sauce pan, mix two cans of pineapple chunks with juice, a cup of brown sugar, 2/3 cup vinegar, four tablespoons corn starch and two tablespoons soy sauce. Bring sauce to boil and boil while stirring until syrupy. Dump over meatballs, cook on low four hours
Recipe came out of some Crockpot cookbook I don’t remember

My husband likes to do frozen meatballs and then make his own sauce (tomatoes, paste, spices - I'd have to ask him for his exact recipe, but he usually just eyeballs everything. Must be an Italian guy thing. 😁) and keep it warm in the crock pot. He did that for a work thing last year.

I have made these a few times and they are really good
Marmalade Meatballs
1 bottle (16 ounces) Catalina salad dressing 1 cup orange marmalade 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes 1 package (32 ounces) frozen fully cooked home-style meatballs, thawed
In a 3-qt. slow cooker, combine the salad dressing, marmalade, Worcestershire sauce and pepper flakes. Stir in meatballs. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or until heated through.
A non-meatball crockpot appetizer that is always a hit
Trisha Yearwood’s Corn Dip
1 pound frozen corn kernels, thawed 8 ounces cream cheese, cubed 1/2 cup chopped jarred pimientos 2 jalapeños, seeded and finely chopped 1 pound frozen corn kernels, thawed 8 ounces cream cheese, cubed 1/2 cup chopped jarred pimientos 1 clove garlic, finely chopped 1 teaspoon chili powder Kosher salt 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
Tortilla chips, for serving
Combine the corn, cream cheese, pimientos, jalapeños, garlic, chili powder and some salt in a slow cooker. Cook on low heat for 1 hour. Stir to mix in the cream cheese. Continue to cook for another 2 hours. Stir in the cilantro and season with salt.
Serve warm with tortilla chips for dipping.
