Hi everyone! I'm posting early because I've been up forever due to the time change! I'm meeting my mum for breakfast soon ... seems to be a weekly thing now ... a nice tradition. I need to pick up a large box from my old neighbour after that ... somehow I had it sent to my old address! I'll also pick up a few groceries ... don't need much because today is my Hello Fresh and Inspired Go (gourmet salads) delivery day ... the first time in the condo so we'll see how we work it out. This is what I posted on Facebook today ... for my Starbucks barista daughter Emma ... I'm going to start naming my dd's here instead of numbering them! Dinner tonight will be something from Hello Fresh ... not sure what yet! How are you feeling today scrapmaven? What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

Good morning leannec. Breakfast w/your mom sounds so nice. What a lovely tradition. I like your meme. Your dd's names are so pretty. Thank you for thinking about me. I'm much better. I'm resting this weekend in order to shake this out of my system. Acupuncture tmw will take care of it. I had to cancel my acu appt a few days ago, because of the flu. That was counter productive. Dinner will be tacos for dh. Have a happy, fun, restorative day, my lovely tribe.

Our dinner out last night was really lovely. The restaurant was so busy! Even though we had booked and actually arrived a few minutes after our reserved time, we had to wait about 10 minutes, for the first seating at our table to finish and leave. Once seated, food and drink was excellent, and we weren't at all rushed, as they had no later reservations.
Normal Sunday here. DH left early for the airport - he has a conference in Barcelona this week. I went to church - it's a bit of a pain when DH isn't here, as I have to go with public transport, and this weekend there are track works, which messed up the timetable. On my way in, Sophia called me on FaceTime. Her first comment was 'where ARE you Oma, and why are you wearing a mask?' She was calling to say she had been to my nephew and GF's baby shower, but the baby is still in M's tummy!
I got home just before lunchtime, and since lunch it has been TV - an online knitting class I am currently taking and then football. I am currently watching the team who were ahead of us get thrashed, which will put us on top of the table for the first time since September.
Dinner - I am still not sure, even though it is past 5pm here. There is pasta sauce in the freezer, so I may just zap that and cook some spaghetti or noodles for a quick dinner. We had pizza Friday, and I had the leftovers for lunch today, or I'd do that!

sueg, my bff and his husband are retiring and moving to Lisbon in the spring. He keeps talking about how excited they are to be able to take weekend trips around Europe. One of their first trips will be to Copenhagen, a place I've always wanted to go. I'm going to miss him terribly, but I'm so happy for him at the same time. I hope to be well enough someday to visit. Sophia is such a cutiepie. You're very blessed, indeed.

We haven't made it to Lisbon - it was on the plans for this past summer, but with moving, then going home because my dad was sick and to see little Lucia, it just didn't happen. DH's company is opening an office in Lisbon next year, and he will have a team located there, so hopefully that means we will get there sooner rather than later.

I'm just popping in super duper quick. It's baby shower day today. I am still preparing food and we will walk out in half hour. Or at least that is my plan but Jeremy is still in his pajamas.
We will eat there and then probably bring home some leftovers for rechauffe dinner.

It’s another gorgeous day here today. A very good friend of mine tested positive yesterday for Covid, although I haven’t seen her in almost 2 weeks actually longer than that. So I ran to the store for her last night and dropped off Gingerale and a new thermometer. Her doctor called in a prescription for Paxlovid but by the time I got there the pharmacy was closed. So I did that for her this morning, grabbed more ginger ale and some Lifesavers since the Paxlovid apparently does not taste very good.
I dropped it all off on her porch and then talked to her about 50 feet away. She looks and sounds a lot better than she did yesterday. She’s had 4 Covid shots so now she will have to wait somewhere between 60 and 90 days for the latest one.I’m making a huge pot of beef/tomato/sausage stock today. I filled it with onions and garlic and some carrots and some peppers. Then I’ll freeze it and just be able to pull it out and have it to be a base for soup.
Hope everyone has a great day.

I hope she feels better soon. Today I ended up sleeping in and skipping church, since not sleeping Saturday night (thanks insomnia). Today DH is going to take pictures of a parade for the fire company and I am going to be doing laundry, vacuuming and cleaning my family room. Dinner tonight is going to be some kind of chicken and baked sweet potatoes. Vegetables have not been decided. I hope all of you have a peaceful day!

destined2bmom. Both of her parents are deceased and her sister lives in 45 minutes from here. She does have a huge circle of friends but I’m literally the closest mile wise to her. She would do it for me too. She sounded and looked a whole lot better today

I made Chicken-Penne Alfredo for the young adult group for lunch today. Added in fresh veggies with dip, grapes, garlic bread and homemade cookies. They are a hungry group and appreciate a home-cooked meal. I make a lot so that there are leftovers for some to take home. I took home a small container of the main meal and have the veggies & grapes to eat at home.
I hope that everyone is enjoy the beautiful weather today. The temp is about 18C and very sunny. Going on a hike with friends later this afternoon.

I'm still on a high from LSU's overtime win against Alabama, 32-31. Tonight we're going to a dinner party where the hostess prepares Julia Child's Bouef Bourguignon. It's an annual party with 8 attending. We didn't go the past two years because of Covid so we're thrilled to be able to go tonight.

It's baby shower day today. Have a great time!! Try to relax and enjoy ... I know that is hard! I LOVE baby clothes ... but I don't love babies! . Disclaimer: Once I become a Grandma (not anytime soon), I will love babies! The temp is about 18C and very sunny. Jealous! It is FREEZING in Calgary ... the temperature isn't bad but with the windchill it is ugly

I had such a great day poking around a favorite design store that was near the holiday market I went to yesterday. My timing was perfect as the store was closed last week to reset for Christmas and it is a true wonderland. I picked up rustic bell ornaments, a Lori Mitchell Santa and some fir scented tissue paper that I'm ridiculously excited to use. Lunch was one of these charcuterie cups. Isn't it adorable? My favorite bite was to spread a bit of the petite camembert with the fresh thyme and a piece of the candied orange. *chef's kiss* Today looks to be lazy as the whole family is gathered in the family room, cozy under blankets with our devices and half watching football. Dinner will be a fish tacos.

Hi! It’s already been a busy day. Got up early and went to the grocery store. Came home and started helping DH pick up sticks in the yard. The 50mph winds yesterday knocked all the leaves off the trees but also knocked a lot of limbs down. We lost a tree and the top out of another. I need to unpack and start laundry. Took a spur of the moment trip with a friend. Left Wednesday and got home yesterday. It was nice to get away. That charcuterie cup looks amazing bc2ca. Dinner is chili. It’s already cooking. The house is starting to smell good.

Happy Sunday! It's a warm day here, so we have the fans going and the window slightly ajar. We've certainly heated up the apartment: Bagels toasted in the oven (we haven't had an actual toaster in 6 years). Then, we made chicken and biscuits for the week (DH browned the chicken in the new Dutch oven, and then I finished it in the Instant Pot before we made it all in the Dutch oven [the recipe called for precooked chicken, but we don't like using precooked]). Then we decided to make a loaf of bread to go with our Costco stew for dinner. Looking forward to that. It will be a busy week, but it's nice to have everything done for dinner. Have a great week, all!

It’s been a beautiful weekend here! I went grocery shopping, made French toast for breakfast and did some cleaning this morning. I just finished packing for my crop next weekend (I leave on Thursday). karenlou arrived safely in Guatemala. Dinner is going to be grilled pork chops and chicken tenders, butternut squash, rice and a salad. Peter, dd’s boyfriend, is coming for dinner. I have enjoyed too many treats this weekend and will be back on track tomorrow morning!

cadoodlebug my DH laughed when I showed him your ikea meme. After helping DS put together all his furniture for his college apartment he swore never again. We just came back from visiting DS. We arrived Thursday and came home today. It was so nice to see him. We had fun together and ate out a lot. Our pupper loved seeing him and gave him quite the greeting. The little wonder robbed us of some sleep as he barked for the first time hearing a noise and we would jump up and shush him or have him up on the bed. I'm not sure what is for dinner. We may do a Costco run and have their chicken.

Dinner was veggie subs. I had a salad too but wasn’t that hungry so I’ll eat it for lunch tomorrow. Went with dds 1&2 to a bridal show. We didn’t do that with #1 so my expectations were off a bit. My larger than life center of attention dd wants the most toned down, plain wedding. I’m not sure what to make of it. I’m probably reading too much into it. I hope the baby shower went well jeremysgirl

cadoodlebug my DH laughed when I showed him your ikea meme. After helping DS put together all his furniture for his college apartment he swore never again. I worked for IKEA as a receptionist while in university ... my entire house was IKEA ... luckily my bf, then dh, (now ex) was amazing at building that stuff! Now that I am single that is not going to happen! I bought a kitchen cart for my microwave from Wayfair and I'm paying someone to assemble it! Went with dds 1&2 to a bridal show. We didn’t do that with #1 so my expectations were off a bit. My larger than life center of attention dd wants the most toned down, plain wedding. I’m not sure what to make of it. I’m probably reading too much into it. I have one dd who might be thinking about getting married within the next couple of years (Emma) ... I have no idea what her ideas are because we do not discuss it! My ex and I will be pushing for a destination wedding!
