Well, I don't find much on my name other than it can mean to talk rapidly which I do very well. I did find this: "Between 1980 and 2019 there were 1 birth of Patter in the countries below, which represents an average of 0 birth of children bearing the first name Patter per year on average throughout this period. On the last available year for each country, we count 0 birth. More details here : www.popular-babynames.com/name/patter" Am I the only one who has always thought you were a Patricia/Patty and that Patter was a nickname? 😳

I am sitting at Safelite waiting for my windshield to be replaced and trying to amuse myself. 😄 Is your name an uncommon name but not unique? The highest my name has been on the top female baby list is 154 in the 50’s. It didn’t make it onto the top 1000 until the 1930s. I was born in 1964 and think it was ranked in the high two hundreds then. Since then it has never really gone above that I don’t think. Is your name uncommon but not unique or was it one of the top 10 in the year that you were born? I always wanted a name that you could find on pencils or any of those little knickknacks that you got as a kid, but very rarely would you see it. The top 10 for 1964 (from 1 to 10) was Lisa, Mary, Susan, Karen, Patricia, Kimberly, Donna, Linda, Cynthia, and Tammy. I'm in the Top 10 for 1964 My birth year is 68 and it fell down It's pretty uncommon now but can still find on knickknacks occasionally. I never hear it on kids now but I still run into it here and there.

My name was so common for my generation that I couldn’t even get by with first name last initial most years growing up. It sucked because I hated my middle name too. My name was in the top ten for decades but hasn’t been popular recently.

My name was #63 for the year I was born, but had not even cracked the top 100 two years before. It came into the top 100 at #83 the year before I was born, then gradually climbed for the next 10 years from #63 in my year up to #29, where it hovered for a few years before moving back up into relative obscurity. There were 3 of us with my name in my graduating class in small-town Ohio, and 3 of us in my church here in Northern VA (not the same people as in HS, LOL). All of us are close in age. I do love that whenever I meet someone with my name, they're usually within about 10 years of my age. ETA: Even though my name was relatively uncommon, I always thought it was a weird coincidence that there were 3 girls with that name in my class growing up in a small town/small school district. The other two actually had the same last initial so they had to use their full last name to distinguish between them.

Thank you but I’m dumb and can only figure out how to see the top 5 for each year but not where to check for my own name 😃 I did find a site with a graph but not specific numbers. ETA: NVM I scrolled down 😄

I'm a Jennifer, but I was born in the mid 1960's before it was popular. Most of the Jennifers I know are 10 years younger than me.

I get Pat, Patty, Patricia, and even Peter. I don't answer to those.

Mine was the 16th most popular the year I was born. It peaked a couple years later and is now 567th. So it is very much a dated name. I’ve never liked it.

I have not run across too many Hopes in my life. The most popular it's been is apparently 144 in 1999. Prior to the peak around the new Millennium, the peak was around the time I was born. 1974 was peak at 196. I was born in 1975 and it had fallen to 202. My name was actually supposed to be Krystina, until the moment the nurse asked for my name and my Mom popped out Hope. My Dad looked at her, and said "What!?!" She said it was divine intervention.
I also wished to find my name on the trinkets. I have a few. Ornaments are the most likely thing for me to find, because it is a popular Christmastime word.

Obviously as Lisa born in the 1960's, I have the most common girl name of the decade and I always wanted something more unique. I couldn't go by my middle name as I was named after someone in the family and it would have been confusing.

With my spelling.... not in the top 1000 at all, any of the years counted.
With a minor adjustment, most popular was 781 in 1927, dropped off the list after 1940
With a different spelling that sounds similar but is, in my mind, a different name, and more popular, peaks in 1916 at 307, drops out of the top 1000 in 1953.
In all cases is never heard of again. Just the way I like it, lol!

My name is Virginia, but I go by Ginny. If those popular name lists went back to the early 1800s, Virginia probably would have been high on the list, but it was not very popular when I was born in 1960. I used to hate my name, but it's kind of grown on me as I've aged. (I always thought it was an old lady name when I was young, and I guess I've proved myself right since I hated it when I was young, but like it now that I'm old. ) Wait... Your name isn't Kelly??? No, it’s a long story, but “Aunt Kelly” was based on an incident that happened in college. I would tell the story, but I think I’d better plead the 5th. 🤣🤣🤣

My name is not common, but also not unusual. I don't think you can tie it to a particular era, since it was never super popular. Just how I like it.

I was born in 1960 and named after Debbie Reynolds. My parents named me Deborah and it was such a popular name in the 1960's that I often had 3-4 other Debbies in my class. We went by Debbie and the first letter of our last names. I had no trouble finding commercial items with my name on them in the stores. In 1955 Deborah was the 2nd highest popular girls name in the country! By 1960 the year of my birth it had fallen to the number 10 spot.

Pretty much every day of my adult life I have some version of this interaction:
Them: "Is your name Terese or Theresa?" Me: "It's Theresa [[spelled Therese]], pronounced with an a but spelled with an e" Them: "Huh..." Me: "Yeah, I know, I had nothing to do with choosing it."
My mother saw it in a baby name book as the French version of Theresa, took off the accents, and insisted it was pronounced with an a at the end. I've run into a couple of people in my life who spell it the same way, but they always pronounce it Terese.

I was born in the 70s and I didn't meet any other Biancas until I was an adult. There was of course Miss Bianca in the rescuers and a girl on a soap opera.
I was talking with a customer of ours at work who was visiting from Brazil. He said that Bianca was one of the most popular names in Brazil in the 70s and that he had many classmates with my name.

How do you pronounce that? My name is neither uncommon or unique. #11 in the year I was born. Bree-say-is I love Greek Mythology. Are you Greek or have a Greek background? Or Nordic (your other children have Nordic names, but maybe Briseis is a Nordic name as well). I believe this the same name of the girl Agamemnon stole from Achilles in the Trojan war? I believe it caused Achilles to refuse to fight for years and it was disasterious for the Greeks. I have never seen the name outside of the Iliad. My first name is Bridget. It was pretty popular in the 1970s, when I was born. My dad's name is Bernie, and my mom claims I was named for the show Bridget loves Bernie. LOL According to a quick search: It has been steadily used in the United States throughout the 20th and 21st centuries, though never among the top 100 most popular names for girls. It was most popular in the 1970s, when it ranked as the 153rd most popular name for girls born in that decade in the United States.

My name is Lisa. The most common name the year I was born, and the most common of the 1960s. In one of my seventh grade classes there were six Lisas, and it was very seldom that I had a class without at least one other.
My son's name is in the top 40 for his year of birth.

It's odd to think of the story in regards to my 8 year old, LOL, but yes. She was a war prize for Achilles essentially, and then Agamemnon demanded her back. I'll be honest, I've never read Iliad but we heard it on Troy and loved it. Long story short, my husband is a HUGE Gladiator fan so our first was immediately Maximus. Then we knew we couldn't saddle our daughter with Angela or Chloe after that, so we found something that "fit". We wanted something that was strong but still beautiful and feminine. We call her Breezy for short. Then the others came from there. Coincidentally all of our kids have movie names, although only the first 2 came from movies. lol

The last time my name broke the top 100 was 1951. About 25 years later when I was born it was #369 and now it’s pushing 700. My kids both have much more common names though the oldest does have a slightly unique spelling (it was a compromise with dh).
