The only place I assume it’s not real eggs is a cafeteria. Otherwise I would completely expect real eggs. It wouldn’t occur to me to ask for that at a sit down restaurant. Then again, I always get my eggs over easy. I do assume it’s from a carton if I order an egg white omelette. I doubt restaurants are just separating real eggs for egg white omelettes. Yes. I would assume this too. I no longer order omelettes at the Cheesecake Factory, because it’s a ready made egg patty (kind of spongy). They just drop in the fillings and fold it. It’s kind of gross. I would have preferred carton eggs over this crap.

Like another pea said, the higher prices go the worse the food seems to be. I spent $35 at a local place last week for steak tips, a baked potato and mozarella sticks. The mozarella sticks were barely warm, the steak tips were way undercooked, and the baked potato was mediocre. I rarely go out anymore due to the prices so it's so disappointing when the meal just isn't worth it.

I have to say we have had pretty good luck lately even at a few chain places. We had a GC from Chilis and it was good. Fancy steakhouse really good slow service but that’s a given there. Local pizza place tasted amazing but they lost our pizza and had to remake it and when the server checked on it ten minutes later they still hadn’t started it. Then when it was done the salad person had disappeared lol. We tried a localish chain California Fish Grill snd it was amazing I wish we had one closer to us. Seriously the best fish I have had in a long time and they were very reasonable.

I had no idea about liquid eggs in restaurants. I had never thought about it before, and I'm honestly not much of an egg person unless there are a lot of veggies and some cheese scrambled in.
I worked at McDonald's years ago, and people I knew were shocked to hear that all eggs used were real/in the shell.

Thank you for this post. We went out to breakfast with friends today to a place we usually go to. We asked about the eggs and were told they are liquid eggs. If you want hole eggs ask for it on toast
