Well I’ve avoided Covid since the beginning and I’m completely boosted including a new shot in October yeah I tested positive yesterday morning. Wasn’t feeling that great and was supposed to go get a manicure and thought I better test first and it popped up positive.
I did call my primary care physician and she said I qualified for the Paxlovid probably due to my age which is 63 and the fact that I’m not had the greatest year healthwise with pancreatitis and stomach issues and gallbladder removal etc. etc.
anyhow the only thing that hurts is my head. I don’t feel that bad I have some sinus pressure and my nose is running but my head is just killing me and Tylenol it’s not touching it. Does anybody else have this happen? Oh and the antiviral leaves a horrible taste in your mouth but it seems to be working

From what I've heard from people I know who have had it, the headache is the worst part. I would drink some Body Armor and sleep as much as possible. Im sorry you have this.

I frequently have to take oral steroids, the dose pack, when you take 5 pills the 1st day and so on. My trick is peppermint patties. I eat a bite first, then pill, then more of the peppermint patty. It’s the only way I can take them. I hope you feel better. Taking my 5 yr old in, day 7 of headache on antibiotics for an ear infection, but the headache is debilitating for him. He’s tested negative for COVID, flu, rsv and strep

I’ve been using mints, but might try those later.

It’s not as bad as it was yesterday so I guess that’s a good thing Body Armor is like Gatorade, but where Gatorade is Sodium based, Body Armor is Potassium based. And it tastes better!

I drank the cinnamon tea when I was on the paxlovid. The taste was just unbearable otherwise. It stayed all dang day long, and night was worse because it would actually wake me up it was so bad. It was like tinfoil in my mouth.
That was by far the worst part besides the fatigue when I had Covid last month.
I was another one who has avoided it until then. Hope you feel better soon.

That’s a perfect description. My lifesaver mints have been helping.

Hang in there. I had it a couple of weeks ago and the headache/sinus pressure was really, really bad for 2 days. On the 3rd day, I felt a lot better. Hope you are on the mend soon.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.
I really hate that tinfoil taste. My chemo caused that taste and it was horrible.

I wasn’t eligible for the meds even at 66, so glad you are! Everyone I know who had them was tremendously helped. Sounds like you are already doing a little better — feel better soon!

I got a killer headache with Covid, and Tylenol didn't help much. I had one day where my head felt like it was going to explode from the sinus pressure. Otherwise, my symptoms were very mild.
