New symptoms for current variant.. There are new symptoms of COVID-19 that are linked to dominant subvariants BQ.1 and BQ.1.1, according to The Hill. These subvariants make up the majority of coronavirus cases in the U.S. A recent survey from the ZOE Health Study found that these are the top 10 reported COVID symptoms in the last 30 days: -Sore throat -Runny nose -Blocked nose -Sneezing -Coughing without phlegm -Headache -Coughing with phlegm -Hoarse voice -Muscle aches and pains -Altered sense of smell Notably absent from that list are fever and loss of taste and smell, which were earlier markers of the virus. These symptoms distinguished it from other viruses, such as the flu or a cold. www.nj.com/coronavirus/2022/12/the-updated-most-common-covid-symptoms-and-they-are-not-what-you-think.html

Hope it remains not terrible. I finally succumbed a couple of weeks ago, and wasn't different from a cold to me. There was one day that I was miserable because I was stuffed up and my head felt like it was going to explode, but I used some nasal spray, and was fine.

There was one day that I was miserable because I was stuffed up and my head felt like it was going to explode, but I used some nasal spray, and was fine. I got an anti viral plus 2 other meds. I think my Mom got it and then passed it to my Dad and I. I let the home health nurse that came Thursday know and also let my regular nurse know. She wanted to come yesterday but I told her to wait til I knew what I was dealing with. Glad I did now.

cecilia I hope you feel better fast and it doesn't linger. My husband and I are fully vaxed and boosted but we both came down with the mother of all colds right before Thanksgiving. Tested twice and it was not Covid. I would have rather had Covid. My husband got it from his dentist and then he passed it to me. I am 99% over it but it has been three weeks and I still cough up a little mucus a couple of times a day. So many people around here have it.

I’m so sorry to hear you have Covid. After successfully avoiding it for almost 3 years, DH got it from a coworker, then I got it from DH. We were sick last week, and for me, it was very similar to a cold with a slight sore throat, but pretty significant congestion. I felt bad for 3 days, then recovered quickly, but I’m still having some fatigue and general tiredness. I’m glad to hear that you are using the antiviral, and I hope you will be on the road to recovery very soon!

Oh no. I'm glad you've got the antivirals. Hopefully it will be a mild case and you'll be back on your feet for Christmas.
One of my co-workers announced yesterday that she had just tested positive for the first time, after coughing all over us for the past 2 weeks in a large unaired room as it's been sub-zero outside. I can't help wondering how many staff will be left next week.
