Good morning.
Today mil's nephew and his lovely wife are coming to visit mom. That will be very nice for her. I have to run out to pick up a Target order after the visit. Why is Christmas shopping so difficult this year? Dinner is squash chicken w/salad.
What's on your menu?
How is everyone today?
What do you have planned for the weekend?
How are we doing w/Christmas/holiday prep?
Enjoy a relaxing, fun weekend, my lovelies.

Why is Christmas shopping so difficult this year? Everything is difficult because you are under such stress right now. If I was there, I'd do your Target run for you. What do you have planned for the weekend? Welp. We were supposed to have Christmas with my mom and sister tomorrow night. But I've just heard from my sister and my BIL's father is super ill. He's been living with cancer for the past 5 years, as well as diabetes and heart disease. They found out this morning that he needs some kind of surgery on his aorta as soon as possible. He is going into the hospital on Sunday so my sister has asked that they be able to spend this weekend with my BIL's family. I, of course, agreed. So if you are a praying sort, Mike could really use your prayers. There's a decent chance he might not survive this surgery. We have tentatively rescheduled for Christmas Eve, however, depending on how this surgery goes, we might have to reschedule into the following weekend or even into January. None of us mind any of this rescheduling. We just want Mike to be better. How are we doing w/Christmas/holiday prep? I took a very relaxed approach to Christmas this year and I'm very glad I did. I think with my newly freed up weekend, I will finish my quilt. Last night Jeremy wanted a pizza. So we ordered Domino's so I could have some pasta instead. It gave me some serious heartburn. That combined with this menopausal internal heat wave I'm having made sleep nearly impossible. I'm throwing the chicken away today. And I will make spaghetti tonight.

What do you have planned for the weekend? Nothing tonight but I'm going to a potluck at my girlfriend's condo tomorrow evening ... I hate potlucks but it will still be fun ... a room full of senior citizens there to party at 5pm! I was going to bring my chocolate trifle but she said not to bother 25, 2014 21:08:40 GMT -7 scrapmaven said:How are we doing w/Christmas/holiday prep? I'm pretty much done ... need to stop and grab some gift bags from the dollar store on the way home from work today ... need to grab a few stocking stuffers this week ... no biggie! Dinner tonight will be something pasta ... rechauffe or frozen ravioli with red sauce ... it's what I feel like!

That was happening to me, and when I had an endoscopy they discovered I've developed severe lactose intolerance. (News to me.). I take lactic pills now whenever I have cheese/milk/dairy of any kind and my stomach is so much better. I went to Trader Joe's today to get some frozen artichoke appetizers, garlic + salt grinders for stockings, and of course spent $125 on everything else that went into my cart. Including frozen lasagna, which will be dinner tonight.

leannec dollar tree is on my list for gift bags too. I really need to lay out all the stuff and see what I need. Today is dd1ās birthday. I picked up a strawberry cake from her favorite place. Tomorrow weāre going to the brewery with the igloos. Dd3 plans to come home too. Not sure if sheāll just stay for Christmas but I doubt it. She detests our rental like dh. Wait til she sees how cluttered it is from her mother. š I may make the sun dried tomato chicken tonight. Not sure. Iām desperately trying to finish a pendant for my younger sister for Christmas. Itās in the tumbler now so hopefully I can set the stone then put the chain on š¤š» I felt like I had to make her one because I made my older sister one. scrappintoee B&BW smaller candles are 5.95 today Happy Friday

Heartburn has been my nemesis lately. And I have just assumed it is because I have put on weight.

No one here has any ideas for dinner. Weāve run through the usual things this weekā¦baked chicken, air fried pork chops, burgers, pastaā¦and pizza is on tap for Sunday. Ds and I are going to see dgd sing at school in about 45 minutes, maybe weāll be inspecting before we head home!
Iām not ready for Christmas and Iām just not feeling it at all. I havenāt finished shopping and donāt know what to buy for ds. I need gift wrap so I can get what I have wrapped this weekend.

Today was my first day out of the house since I got Covid. Itās day 12 so I figure Iām good to go. I went to grab some gift bags at the dollar store and picked up a few groceries at the grocery store. And now Iām tired! DH is napping so Iām just going to chill until heās up.
Just have the grandboys gifts to wrap and Iām done. We will have Christmas dinner on Boxing Day and Iāll delegate parts of the meal to everyone, while I cook the turkey, stuffing and gravy.
It seems like my area missed the big storm that happened yesterday/today. We have no snow, perhaps a green Christmas here.
Supper will be rotisserie chicken and salads.

Good morning Dinner Tribe. Itās still pretty early here and things are going well. Dog is happy, Father is happy.
I am getting highlights and a root colour today. That I call maintenance.
Dinner tonight I may be on my own. I really should cook something but I am not sure what I want yet. I am going out for dinner tomorrow so I may eat a little lighter today.

Prayers for Mike, jeremysgirl . This morning I dropped more cards at the Post Office, hit Staples for more labels, Ulta for a few things to spend my 20% off coupon, BB&B to use my 25% off coupon on toiletries and Safeway where my purchase put me over 10,000 points on my Fetch rewards app. So now I'm entitled to a $10 gift card. I've finished Christmas shopping so I need to finish wrapping then tidy up the house. DS doesn't arrive until next Friday so I have plenty of time to plan. He woke up to no power this morning so he had to go into the office to work. He was bummed. Dinner will be Sloppy Joe's. TGIF!

It is pouring rain here...so any snow we had is long gone....š³ I worked today...went to the fish market on the way home...not really on the way but I wanted salmon, so dinner will be said salmon, baked potato and asparagus
Christmas is pretty much a wrap...I have a couple more small things to wrap. Cookie dough is all made, 4 different kinds...I may start baking tomorrow. That being said tomorrow is my volunteer day at First Baptist....we prepare a hot meal for our guests...soup, salad and dessert...coffee tea and cold drinks. It is a lot of work but very rewarding.

I am getting my hair done and life is good. I went to the Asian owned big grocery chain and they had my awful tasting tea and I stocked up. I am so happy about that. Dad is going out with his significant other and I am having a store bought chicken Cordon. That sounds very good. I am guessing I will have coleslaw or salad and some asparagus. It just depends how lazy I am. I feel energetic so maybe I will make some gravy because why not?

Happy Saturday everyone! Well, it's the end of an era for me. My baby girl moved into her new home yesterday, that she bought with her boyfriend. (Can you still call a 25yo your "baby girl"?! ) I'll tell you all in a week how I'm feeling. Right now it doesn't feel any different because she isn't home much anyway. DSO had his work Christmas party last night. I dropped him off and then went to the shopping centre (mall) nearby. I had dinner there, which was just some hot chips with dipping sauce. The only thing I bought was some calendars for my dad and MIL. This morning I am picking DD up and we are doing a big grocery shop. I am soooo excited, because I love grocery shopping. I remember when I moved into my first home, a girlfriend came shopping with me, and we had the best time. We didn't need a shopping list, we just walked up and down every aisle, buying ALL THE THINGS!

I hit a yoga class this morning which put me in a Zen mood to tackle Costco. My local store changed the parking so it is all two way traffic, no one way rows any more. At least when it was one way, a car stopped waiting for a spot could leave enough room for others to get by. With two way traffic, the lane comes to a stand still if cars in both direction stop while waiting for a spot. My Christmas prep is pretty much done. I don't plan to do any baking at home this year unless DD wants to do some when she arrives next week. I picked up some homemade toffees at a craft fair (cinnamon churro and a coffee chocolate) and am taking a macaron making class tomorrow so think that will do it for sweets. The only thing I haven't double checked is stockings. I'm usually the one that does them but DS told me last week he's picked up a lot of little things for them which is sweet and unexpected. Dinner tonight will be lasagne.

Happy Friday dinner friends. Iāve had a busy day and didnāt sleep well last night. I baked cookies last evening and was tired but too keyed up to sleep. Dragging now.
I have two more cookies to mix and chill in the next day or two. I also need to make some room sprays and print labels for the vanilla for those that come to the cookie bake on Sunday.
My son,DIL and grandson are coming over tomorrow to make cut out cookies and finally put ornaments on the tree.
Once I get thru this weekend Iāll finish up the last details for Christmas, but Iām in pretty good shape.
Dinner is going to be a salad with turkey and cranberry vinaigrette dressing.
Wishing everyone a great weekend ahead.

DH has just arrived from Germany, He was late leaving Munich for Dubai, but Emirates then pushed back the connecting flight by 45 minutes, and he ended up landing only 30 minutes later than the original time. He booked an Emirates chauffeur (bonus of flying business class) and got to our apartment 10 minutes ago.
We are going for lunch with immediate family - both DS, DDiL and the little girls in an hour or so. Not sure what else weāre doing this weekend, though Sophia taking FarFar to the farm this afternoon is a distinct possibility.
I am nearly done with Christmas shopping. It helps that I did most of it before leaving Germany and brought it with me. I just needed a few extra things, so yesterday I set out early, visited 2 shopping malls and now only need to find something for my BiL - weāll be at their place Christmas Day for lunch and I have something for everyone else, so I feel I should get him something too.

It is so nice your DS did that little bit of shopping bc2ca. If I could get him to do stocking stuff for me, that would be great! Lol. I told the kids I wasn't stuffing stockings this year so everyone was getting a bonus gift card.
