Do you own a set? Back in the 1980s I was fortunate to find these dishes in an after Christmas sale marked down to about 15% of what the original price had been (85% off original price). I purchased dinner and dessert plates for 12.
When our son was still at home, I began to use them on December 1st, as I thought it totally ridiculous to use them only one day of the year. --I freely admit it is a really 1st world thing to even have special dishes for a holiday. Now I use them for about 2 weeks during the holidays.
My set was made in Portugal. I was attracted to it because each dinner plate has an old fashioned toy featured on the plate. Pattern is Christmas Magic, and it is made by Vista Alegre.
This link is bad--but it is the page where I find the dishes on Replacements.com.
I don't know what is going on with the link. If I search Vista Alegre, Christmas Magic--that is the link that comes up. However if I try to use the link, I get "page not found."

I have lots of the Pfaltzgraff Winterberry that I used from Thanksgiving through the new year. I haven’t pulled it out in a few years, although I still love it. Maybe next year! www.pfaltzgraff.com/collections/winterberry

I have an inexpensive set I bought about 40 yrs ago and I start using them on the 1st of Dec until New Year’s Day. I also have a few Christmas mugs for my morning tea and a few serving dishes that get used. I don’t do a lot of decorating anymore but I do have a festive table during the holidays.

The link went to a ‘page not found’ for me but I googled them and they’re sweet. I like using china so no judgement from me. Villeroy & Boch also have some sweet dishes with toys on them that I have wanted for years but so far I have held strong. DH grew up with his family using the Lenox Holiday pattern. We always had Christmas Eve & Christmas with our families out of town so we never bought Christmas China for ourselves. But in 2020 I decided to buy just a couple of the Lenox Holiday plates and these gorgeous Villeroy & Boch red glitter glass chargers to go under them. So we use those for Christmas when it’s just the two of us now. And I like your example of using it around the holidays, not just the one time. We will start doing that. I also have a set my mom purchased years ago. She never got to use them to host our family Christmas and she doesn’t host anymore so I’ll use them when I host our side of the family.

Personally I would never want to have any separate sets of dishes -- like "the good china" or "Grandma's old set" or holiday ones, or whatever. We have our everyday Corelle that gets used all the time.
That said, I did come home from Goodwill one year with four random Christmas dinner plates just because they were pretty. I pack them up after Christmas with all the other decorations and put them up in the attic. So they get used from whenever we get the xmas stuff out until we pack it back up.

I love your set librarylady. I have some everyday Christmas dishes that I use in Dec. We don't celebrate with a bunch of family, it's just the 3 of us mostly, so our Christmas dinner is also on the everyday holiday dishes. I do have a set of 12 settings of white with a gold band. I have wine glasses with gold on them and the flatware is gold. I cannot remember the last time I hauled it out. I ought to sell it.

I have the Winterberry also - I've picked it up a piece at a time at thriftstores and yard sales - my everyday dishes are filagree which is the base pattern for Winterberry. Mine came out for the 1st Sunday of Advent and I'll keep them out until Epiphany.
I do have two sets of good china and we do use them, mainly on holidays - Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas dinner, New Years. I use the Winterberry as everyday dishes during the Christmas season

I had the Grapevine pattern for my everyday dishes and used Filigree for the serving pieces because backs then there wasn’t much in Grapevine available in the serving pieces. So I added in Winterberry plates and a few other pieces over the years. I bring them out the day after thanksgiving and use them until the epiphany. They make me happy whenever I use them.

I have place settings for 10, plus a handful of serving pieces, in Lenox Sleighride. I love it, and I mix it in with our plain white china when we need more pieces or just to make it a bit less matchy. We use it from after Thanksgiving until New Year’s. www.replacements.com/china-lenox-sleighride/c/50144

I have a lot from Robinsons May that look like Lenox Holiday. They don’t get used because they need to be hand washed because of the gold trim. I have a ton of pieces. I do use a lasagna baker for brunch with hash brown casserole. I used to use the rest but my MIL made a nasty comment about using it when we hosted Thanksgiving and I haven’t used them since. Seriously she gave them to me but made fun of me for using them for Thanksgiving. We didn’t host Christmas at that time just Thanksgiving. She knew she was going to host Christmas when she started giving them to me so I don’t know what she was thinking but … I purged a few pieces and the rest fill the bottom of a buffet. They are pretty and we now host a Christmas buffet usually the Saturday before Christmas (we are currently sick so now it’s on the 28th). In recent years I have used nice paper plates as it’s just so much work to wash them before and after the meal by hand.

I have a beautiful set from Williams Sonoma. The plates have a plaid rim and the bowls are the solid plaid. I don't see them on the website so they may not sell them anymore. I love them, but didn't bring them out this year. I'm just not feeling Christmasy.

Nope, but I recently realized I have enough different colors of Fiestaware to set the table in all reds and greens for Christmas. That will have to suffice.

I have 6 Fiesta Christmas Plates and a few Gusto bowls we use all of December. I also have 8 Grinch luncheon plates from Williams and Sonoma which I set on top of my china for Christmas. They are fun as we are a Grinch loving family.

My mom bought a service for 4 that she wants us to use for Christmas- and then she wants to leave it here. Based on the picture she sent me when she bought it a month or so ago, it is definitely not one of the pretty patterns. But, we will use it and I will find someplace to store it so we can use it again. My mom is 76 and if these dishes make her happy, we will use them.

Mine used to belong to MIL. She loves buying china. She gave them to me when she bought Royal Albert Christmas china. She also owns the Lennox Christmas china everyone is talking about too. She bought a set of 12 of these Robinson May Christmas dishes. When she buys, she has to own all the serving platters, bowls, salt pepper, etc. I have it all but I don't like the hand washing aspect either. But they're all beautiful. I hate to admit I will probably get ride of my wedding china before getting rid of these Christmas dishes.

I had a couple 4 setting boxes of a Corelle Christmas pattern and when my grandma, that lived lots of states away passed away my mom gave me a tote of more of it that she owned, so now I have probably 12 settings. We try to remember to start using it when we get all the other Christmas Deco out. We just pack our everyday corelle in the same containers while using the Christmas ones.
My mom though is another one that has the Winterberry stuff. Much prettier than my corelle.
