Well, DH brought home a cold, and I have now reached maximum sickness. Wild coughing, lungs congested, having to use nebulizer and inhaler. Running nose, you know, all the things that make a holiday joyful. Steroids and more meds than I can take. I'm done. Oh, and I bought 80% of Christmas gifts on e cards, and now my printer has shit the bed. Grrrrr!

We are healthy at our house but I have heard about a lot of people under the weather.
I'm sorry you are feeling so bad and hope that the meds kick in a give you some relief.

Yes, Covid is kicking my ass. I thought at first it was going to be very mild but I feel like someone beat me up one side and down the other and my sinuses and throat are on fire, my head aches (though that's true every day so I probably shouldn't count that), still fighting fevers and chills when the Tylenol wears off.
But, my breathing is ok so I'm sure I'll be fine eventually. I only get 5 days off officially but we'll see. I have to go back the 26th but just office time so I could skip it until the 28th.
ETA the worst part is that I have 100 things to do here at home and I can't get any of them done, I'm too weak. Weak! Me! I'm not used to this! 🤒🤧😓

The same thing happened when I had covid mid-October. I had so much to do and couldn't do any of it, and all I could think of was why this had to happen now, of all times. I hope you can put the obligations aside and just relax.

My son and husband are moving things back into the basement now that it's finished and I'm just sitting here on the couch bc I can't lift my dollhouses right now. I can hear tiny objects falling everywhere, so I'm going to have to go up and down the stairs checking things. 😖

Aw hugs everyone. Yup, I tested positive for Covid for the first time this morning. I'm feeling a lot better now than last night when I was trying not to throw up with a splitting headache and high fever for about 14 hours, but still pretty rubbish. My temperature has gone down to 100*F now. I'm hoping it shouldn't last too long - I've had 6 vaccinations... But that's Christmas down the pan.

Over Thanksgiving my husband and I both had the mother of all colds. Lasted a good ten+ days. He got it from his dentist then gave it to me. We both tested twice and it was not Covid. I haven't had a cold like that in years, probably decades.

And our cold and flu medication aisle at the grocery store is decimated, there is literally nothing there. Luckily I think I have enough to get me over the worst.

I haven't looked for new meds bc I stocked up a while back. Turns out it was REALLY a while back, bc they all expired earlier this year 🙄 But they seem to be working anyway. I have cough syrup and DayQuil/NyQuil and Tylenol PM. I'm just alternating bc like you said when they wear off the misery is just awful. Misery loves company, here's hoping we'll be better in a few days!

I seem to have developed a chest infection and my asthma has gone crazy I've still got loads left to do fur Christmas, the house is a mess- my ground floor lights have fused and the ehectrician was unable to relate without ripping up my daughter's floor in the self contained flat I created for her upstairs. So we're having to manage with lamps and Christmas lights Add to that she's been putting cat litter and poo down her en suite loo- which is now blocked solid. I haven't been able to get anyone to come and sort it this close to Christmas and she's going to struggle not having a toilet close ( she has MS and interstitial cystitis. )
I've just had a good cry sitting in the disaster that is my home but of course, it solves nothing!

I was last weekend... first time I've had a stomach bug since 1992 and it was very yucky!!! Feeling better but not back to full energy yet. Got the shopping done for Christmas dinner today and fortunately all the shopping / wrapping of gifts was already done.
Hoping you all feel better soon!!!

I'm sorry you are so sick. That sucks!
I am not sick, but worried that I will be. LOL I spent my work Christmas party with a coworker who thought she had a cold. Sat across from her at a table eating, playing games, eating food she made all day on Monday. Tuesday morning, she tested positive for covid. So I am praying I don't get sick and ruin the few fun plans I have for Christmas.
I hope you feel better soon!

I’m sorry that anyone is sick. Hope you feel better soon.
DS#2 and his girlfriend are both sick and may not make the trip on Saturday (flight chaos is another thread). I hope they feel better but it’s not sounding good.

I've been sick all week with a hacking cough and sore throat, aches and pains. Finally went to the doctor on Tuesday, negative for flu and Covid. Diagnosed bronchitis. Got some meds and finally feel better but the cough won't go away!

Two weeks ago, Dh and I both had a fever, cough, runny nose. Neither of us tested positive for Covid, but we were both down for several days

Well, this is the annual bronchitis dance, with some asthma flare for flavoring! Sooooo sick of this, have to send DH out for a new printer, can't finish decorations, no one will have a wrapped gift. Sucks. DH is going to feel so pressured and I can only lay there coughing and sweating. He got it first and passed it to me, I was super gentle and kind to him. What did that get me? A kick in the ass. Wants me to do all manner of house work, go shopping, etc. He can bite me.

Just getting over Covid - although after reading this, my previously thought as "moderate" case has been downgraded to "seriously mild." No fever, minor sore throat, decent amount of congestion but that's it. I see I got very lucky and am grateful for that.
Feel better everyone!

Me. I have all of those symptoms, but not to that extent, yet. It may get to that point though.
Hope y’all feel better quickly!

I am sorry for everyone feeling sick right now.
I had what they think was RSV recently. I was sick for 4 weeks. I ended up with a sinus infection and bronchitis. It took 2 antibiotics and prednisone to clear it up. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Everyone in the dental office are all masked. By the next day he was sick. He went back to the dentist two weeks later and the dentist had been sick too. My husband hadn't been anyplace except the dentist for at least two weeks before he got sick. I am guessing a patient gave it to the dentist. Patients can't wear masks while getting work done.

That is an awful lot on your plate, uksue. I'm sorry you have to deal with all of that. I think I would have to crawl under a blanket and postpone Christmas if I were you. I once put cat litter down the toilet and was severely admonished by my husband. I hope you can get someone to fix the bathroom.

I hope everyone that is sick recovers quickly. DH brought home a cold and it’s been up snd down several times but I think it’s finally almost gone. No more coughing today:). I really hope everyone can feel better by Christmas even if only at home. It’s just us so it’s really low key and quiet.

I really need to get in, because that may be part of my issue, but my glucose levels are sky high and not going down, and my inflammatory markers are high. Really bad time to get anything that’s going around because my body will have a hard time fighting it.
