Happy New Year Everyone! Did you have a quiet evening at home or did you go out? I had planned to stay home but ended up grabbing takeout Italian food and going to my girlfriend's place ... we watched Netflix and I made it to 10 pm! . Once I was home, my "friend" contacted me and came over ... he brought this Indian fish dish that was super tasty but spicy! It had a green coriander sauce that you dip the fish into that was really good! Yum. We watched Indian music videos ... didn't understand a word! So that was my fun NYE! Now it is 2023. I will be driving out to see my mum today to deliver some things she ordered from Amazon ... She wants to go for lunch as well ... Dinner will probably be rechauffe pasta from last night ... easy peasy! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

Once we finish packing my mom’s car because it’s being picked up by the car transport company tomorrow and they deliver it to her in Florida, she and I are headed to my cousins house for dinner. We weren’t able to get there on Christmas because of the weather so we’re headed there this afternoon for homemade pasta and not sure what else

We watched the two semi-final college championship games ~ the 2 teams I was cheering for won so I was a happy camper! Then we watched the movie Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. It was a fun watch. We were asleep by 11:15. DS will be leaving this morning to drive back to the Bay Area. We always miss him when he's gone but then get back into our routine. Not sure what's for dinner, maybe Horseradish Meatloaf. I need to grocery shop for the coming week as it's supposed to start raining again tomorrow. Today is beautiful. Should have posted this meme yesterday!

We are having appetizers, part 2 for dinner tonight. We made it til almost 1am but missed the ball drop in favor of watching football. Bummed that Michigan lost, but they came out flat and had a clear TD reversed. If they had played better, that wouldnt have mattered though. In the second game, we werent rooting for either team, but as Michigan fans, we were happy with the outcome!

DH put a roast in the oven for whatever meal.
This is our 2nd New Year without Mom. She usually made pork and sauerkraut. This year Dad asked that we do something else, as the pork and sauerkraut was Mom’s thing. So, we are going to work on beginning a new tradition.

In my area, almost everything is closed.
I have some stuff in my freezer that will be dinner.
I had too many calories on my cruise, so need to step back and eat a bit healthier in the next while. I did make sure that I had a salad, lots of fruit & veggies and lots of shrimp, lobster & seafood while I was cruising. Avoided most heavy sauces and butter/fat loaded food.
Went to a home party last night. Rather low-key and with my friends. Home by 12:30.
Happy 2023 everyone!

Happy new year, all!
We both took naps to make sure we'd be awake for midnight. So we woke up at 11:30... and then fell back asleep til 12:02. I went to bed pretty much right after that. DH watched TV til 3. I'm still tired and woke up just before 9. :S
I'll make our dinner for the week tomorrow (beef stroganoff), but today's dinner will be a pre-seasoned pork loin and instant pot mac & cheese.
Hope you all have a great week!

Bummed about Michigan (my team) and Ohio. Was hoping for a UM and OS championship game.
It is cold and wet here. The wind finally calmed down but there is a mess of leaves, branches, and decorations in my neighborhood. Nice break in the rain but it starts back up soon. Need to get Toby out to potty.
Have an errands to run and then will be home to stay warm and dry while I watch football and craft.
Dinner is AF chicken wings, bakes beans, warm buttery garlic herb red potatoes, and garden salad.

Breakfast was great!! Dinner will be rechauffe Chinese for DH, I will have chicken thighs in the AF and a salad.
I have been sorting and cleaning the past couple of days.....I have 2 bags ready to donate. I need to call the dealership as my engine light came on in my auto on saturday...hoping they are open tomorrow and I can get it in in a timely manner.

Bummed about Michigan (my team) and Ohio. Was hoping for a UM and OS championship game. Seriously I wanted them to win too (and I'm a Spartan) but I joked with Jeremy when they made the fumble on the 1 yard line, I had to double check and make sure they weren't playing State because that seems exactly like the kind of thing that would have happened in an MSU/UofM match-up. We ended up eating snacks last night and our quest to ring in the new year ended at 10:30. We couldn't make it any longer. Unfortunately, I was up at 6:30 then which was about an hour and a half later than normal and my whole day feels weird today because of it. I think really it's probably because I've already been off for two days. It felt like I should have been at work this morning instead of riding my couch, drinking coffee. I have tomorrow off too and Jeremy took the day off tomorrow too so we could hang out together. We will probably do something exciting like go to the grocery store. LOL! Tonight Jeremy is going to lobby hard for lasagna. However, if I don't cook that chicken soon, I'll have to throw it away. And the asparagus. So it's either/or tonight. I'm going to join the 2peas online crop this afternoon. Hope a good-sized group comes. I'd like to see some faces I haven't seen in a while.

Happy New Years, my tribe.
Dh made french toast and bacon for the guys. I slept very late. It was nice. I'm going to make a very unhealthy dinner per yds, buttermilk chicken and potato skins. He requested it and I have to comply. He's normally my veggie eating guy, so I'll indulge him. I could bake cookies, too. We'll see. I want to spend time w/my cricut today. So, I will choose something.
I know a few people who watched Glass Onion last night. We were going to, but ods was out until 8pm. So, we might watch tonight or tmw.
Wishing everyone here a very Happy, healthy, prosperous New Year. May your 2023 bring you joy and inner peace.

Last night DH and I went to friends for supper. We had steak, baked potatoes and corn. We normally eat around 5 pm and last night it was after 7 pm so we were starving. Got home at 11:15 and I went to bed.
I’ve been sitting on the couch sewing my bras that have the wire poking out. I normally throw them out when that happens but it’s getting expensive to replace them so hoping the repairs work.
Also going to spend some time online to find accommodations for my trip to Newfoundland. I want to stay by the water. There are so many little fishing villages but I have to keep checking a map to see where they are located so we don’t have to do a lot of driving every day.
Today is grandson #1’s birthday. He turned 11. We are having DS and the grandboys over for burgers because DIL is working.

Hi Everyone,
We stayed home and relaxed. But 2023 has already started out crazy for us. Both boys played video games until 4:30 this morning. At 2:30 am, YDS came running upstairs screaming that a pipe had broke in our mechanical room and our basement was flooding. DH and I jumped out of bed and DH went downstairs to investigate it.
DH and the boys fixed it this early afternoon. We are all exhausted; so except for lively conversations, today, I see me watching shows all day and the boys playing video games.
Tonight, we are having pork and sauerkraut.
I hope all of you have a peaceful day.

Happy New Year!
We just had a delicious brunch of bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes and fried potato patties (mashed potatoes with shredded cheese and well seasoned, so good!) Most of the food came from a Stonewall Kitchen basket my sweet sister sent us. 😊
There won’t be any new food cooked today. I’ll have rechauffe meatloaf and veggies. Tomorrow morning I’ll get groceries including healthy foods!!

destined2bmom what a way to start the new year I went to bed early because dd warned me Luke would be up early. He woke up at 4:40. I’m tired so I’m watching the crown. We ‘re having pork tenderloin with a veggie sheet pan and salad.

LOVE the meme, leannec. So true. eeeeeek on the broken pipe, destined2bmom. Bless that boy who caught it for you. I lasted past midnight, after watching five hours (which puts me 1/8 of the way through) Winds of War. I did NOT craft or organize while I watched. I sat and stared at the TV. So proud of myself. Today I seem to be shopping online. Another good use of my time. Dinner will be rechauffe pizza unless I get energetic. I’m also going to make eggnog custard today. YUM. No, really.

DS made it home safely. The usual route he takes was flooded so he took I-5. Lots of water on either side. destined2bmom, yikes! Hope it didn't ruin any furniture/flooring. I'm headed out to return some clothing DH bought me. He's watching NFL football. His last words were *if you see anything you like, buy it no matter what it costs!*

Happy New Year! We had a fun evening. Our friends came over. We watched football and played some games. They didn’t leave until 1:30 so I slept in this morning. Today I took all my Christmas decorations down. destined2bmom I’m glad you caught it early but ugh…. Dinner is rechauffe.

Happy New Year to all!
We had DBF's cousin over for supper last night. I cooked little lobster tails in the air fryer, and served with lemon butter, cheesy potatoes, and asparagus. We drank a bottle of delicious champagne. We were done by 9 pm, and called it an evening about 10. Not exciting, but a pleasant evening.
Rechauffe chicken stir fry tonight.

Also going to spend some time online to find accommodations for my trip to Newfoundland. Newfoundland is on my travel list. Will there be lots of icebergs floating by when you go? destined2bmom, no one wants to wake to broken pipes. I'm so glad your DS saw/heard it and you were able to minimize the damage. We had sushi and watched The Woman King last night. Both of us really enjoyed it and neither of us stayed up to bring in the New Year. It was a windy, rainy, stormy night but that didn't stop the fireworks so the poor pup need lots of comfort and cuddles. This morning we met friends for dim sum, which has pretty much become our New Year's Day tradition. It's almost dinner time and I don't expect to get hungry again today. I did put out a plate of crudite and hummus which will be the extent of my cooking tonight. Anything more will be fend for yourself.

We had fish & chips for dinner, as has been our tradition for the last few years. It can be difficult to find a F&C shop open at this time of year, but we found one on our way back from the river. It wasn't a very good way to start off the new year, the year of me wanting to lose weight, with about a week's worth of calories consumed in one meal! cadoodlebug as a big Brady Bunch fan, I LOVE that meme! I've never seen it before.

Happy New Year Everyone! We had a lovely day. Stayed up late and watched both Top Gun Movies and rang in the new year. Insomnia kept me going after that so I slept in. We took a lovely easy hike around a bay trail and the hills there had turned green after all that rain. The water levels up. A great way to bring in the new year. Tonight we had filet mignons with a balsamic/wine reduction, roasted vegetables including the last of my Italian green beans from the garden and baked potatoes. We will take out the last of the Christmas cookies tonight. destined2bmom Wow, what a bummer to wake up to that news. Glad they were all able to fix it though. Do you have to replace any flooring or furniture? cadoodlebug glad your DS made it home ok. It was nice to not have a rain today. bc2ca I love Dim Sum. We get it periodically. AussieMeg I bet Australia is like England, the best fish & chips. When we visited England we got fish and chips several times. So much better there.
