Good afternoon. I have had a lazy Sunday. I decided to go to church after all, as the weather wasn’t as bad as expected. It took ages to get there and back - one of the downsides of our move last year is that we are much further out of town. It’s not so bad when DH is home, as we drive, but when he’s gone, I am stuck with public transport. Apart from that, I have been knitting and bingeing Netflix. Dinner tonight is going to be a new recipe I found - Za’atar chicken and vegetables. The recipe calls for aubergine and squash, but I am going to add beets as well. scrappintoee - you asked yesterday about my sister and her broken leg. She moved to inpatient rehab last Monday, and says things are going well. She will be seeing her specialist tomorrow to check on how the bone is healing, and they will then plan the next steps (sorry for bad pun) in her therapy.

Good morning. It's a big drag that you have to work today, leannec . Too much work and not enough downtime is not OK. I was up a lot last night due to the steroid shot. So, I don't know what I'll do today. If I wake up then I'll try to have some fun. Otherwise it will be a day on the recliner. Bleh. I'm not sure what to cook for dinner. I'm contemplating af fajitas, cause it's easy.
Enjoy relaxing w/netflix, sueg. Wishing everyone a happy, relaxing, fun day and for AussieMeg , an easy, productive work day w/a nice evening, ahead.

The high today is supposed to be around 43 degrees. We're heading out on a walk but it is really gloomy. Brrr. Dinner will be gumbo while we watch football games. Hoping my Niners and Bengals can pull off wins but it will be tough. All 4 teams are Super Bowl worthy. Attachments:

Hi leannec we are waiting to hear from DSD today. She went home from the hospital last night. As I said yesterday we will visit when we get her cue. I had a really good time last night. It was nice to see our friends as we haven't seen them in a long time. They made it clear to me that I really do need to spend more time outside of my house. I need to get over the hurdle and get myself back out there. The good news is that they offered to walk beside me as I do it volunteering to spend more time with me. Is it wrong to not get out of my pajamas today? I've been trying to take better care of myself lately and put some pep in my step again. One thing I have done is that I've been exercising every morning that Jeremy does not work. And then I head straight to the shower. It's been helping because I was really getting into a lazy pattern of working in bed each morning in my PJs until lunch time. I know, I know...yikes! But since I started with the exercise three weeks ago, I've been getting up and at em early. With that said, today is a lazy Sunday, no exercise, no where to go, nothing to do but crochet. So I'm debating whether I just want to stay in my PJs all day and take a shower before bed. It doesn't help that it is super cold out today and I've got cashmere sleep pants on! 🤣 Tonight I will make the last Hungryroot meal. It is a coconut chicken stir fry. New box comes tomorrow.

Dinner tonight will be leftover rack of pork I took out of the freezer....we get several meals when I roast that rack, so I end up packaging the chops and freezing them...so convenient 😊 Baked potato..sweet for me and regular for DH, also a green veggie and applesauce...I was going for easy since I am working tonight and intend on a nap late afternoon.
Aside from my shift tonight I have no others scheduled this week...however we know how that goes with all the sick calls... Health care is a Hot Mess with all the burnout....so if I get the text blast offering time and a half and a bonus for wednesday I will take it.
I have already made blueberry pancakes for breakfast, cleaned all that up, have the dishwasher going... walked the dog and vacuumed the downstairs...OH, don't forget and 4 loads of laundry washed, dried and folded!!! I am done for the day....

Happy Sunday everyone! I'm having a quiet morning. I had some work research to do from an e-mail I received late Friday, so I thought I'd check on everyone here.
I have sheets and towels in the washer and dryer and plan to make curtains for the cabin at the ranch today. I had to order a bit more fabric for the bedroom that matches the quilt I made for the bedroom there. I'm debating if I want to prewash the fabric or just make them with enough wiggle room for shrinkage.
DH had planned to stay in town this weekend since rain was predicted, but a neighbor called yesterday to let him know a cow was on his property so down he went to check fences. I was out an about with a friend, and we ended up sitting in traffic waiting for an accident to clear, headed in opposite directions. Ships passing in the night.
When we were at my sons on Friday evening, I was riding bikes with my grandson and feel off, face planted into the gravel drive. I have a bump and now bruise on my forehead, both knees and road rash on my upper lip and nose. I was embarrassed, but fine otherwise. I've had a slight headache all weekend since.
Dinner is undecided, maybe a baked sweet potato with some brisket and a salad.
Wishing everyone a great day ahead!

They made it clear to me that I really do need to spend more time outside of my house. I need to get over the hurdle and get myself back out there. If I didn't work outside of the home I would be a total hermit ... I LOVE being at home! I would also have to make myself go out! Is it wrong to not get out of my pajamas today? NO ... not wrong! My mum never gets out of hers unless she needs to go out or someone is coming over! . I wear yoga pants and a sweatshirt all day so it's not far removed from pajamas!

Perfect meme, leannec! I start dreading Monday on Sunday morning, robbing me of the joy of Sunday morning! We got up this morning, had breakfast of Paczki and breakfast sausage and oranges. Laundry is going and Nick is humoring me and my Valentine's decorating, helping me hang a banner and some other fun paper decorations. We are getting ready to go to lunch for our cousin's fundraiser for childhood cancer. Her little guy would have been 13 years old this weekend. We lost him at 3, after 9 months of a battle with brain cancer. We are donating a basket for the auction. It has a whirlypop popcorn maker, buckets, popcorn kits, and 8 flavors like cheddar and ranch and kettle corn. I hope it brings fair bids. I also have 2 bags of dinosaurs for her littlest guy that I found when we were thrift store shopping. It's not my favorite place to eat but a percentage of everyone's check goes to her donation for cancer research. My tummy has been rumble so all the fried stuff doesn't sound great. I may just have a salad. We did end up going to Orland Park yesterday. We picked up the pastries, went to Half Price Books, a much store, a thrift store (more books!) for treasures...Valentine's day cake stand, ceramic cupcake shaped trays, a scarf, a jewelry box, and a few other things. We also went to Trader Joe's for snacks and wine. Then I surprised Nick with dinner at a nice Greek restaurant that just opened. It was tasty, although I was hoping for a traditional babaganoush and I was disappointed. I miss my friend's place in Indianapolis. Their greek food was the best! stormsts I am making chili today too! jeremysgirl Cashmere sleep pants? Oolala! I'd were those all day long too! Have a wonderful Sunday, friends!

austnscrapaddict, I truly think you need to go to urgent care and get seen today. That fact that you have a bump and a bruise on your head and you're not feeling right tells me that you should check and make sure you don't have a concussion. You don't want to play w/that stuff. Please get seen and get someone to drive you. cadoodlebug, you look adorable. jeremysgirl, I'm in my lounge pants and a tshirt. I'm not going anywhere, so why not be comfy? It's Sunday. Be cozy. Go TEAM. It's a football day here, as well.

I own really nice touques and headbands that sit in my car for emergency purposes! The only time I wear a hat is if I have a homemade cute one that matches what I'm wearing. I do admit that if the temperature drops below freezing and I am running outside I do wear a fleece headband over my ears. It's 24 this afternoon and right now I'm getting some fresh air on my porch in a fleece sweatshirt and my cashmere pants. It's funny how people acclimate to different climates.

It's funny how people acclimate to different climates. Yup, I am used to very cold weather ... still don't wear a hat I will say that brushing snow off my car during Covid with a mask on was AWESOME!!!

Plus, we are used to the sun heating us up but when it is cloudy, all bets are off. There were very few walkers this morning and usually there are a lot.

Chili, made with a bunch of leftover (frozen) meat like meatballs and meatloaf and grilled steak, is dinner for DS and me. Dd and dgd have gone out for lunch with her bf’s family. His mom shares a birthday with Ally…she’s seven today!
I went grocery shopping wearing a long sleeve t shirt and a heavy sweatshirt, no jacket. It was 27°. I never wear hats but I also spend virtually no time outside.

We got more snow overnight so DH and I shovelled the driveway this morning. We are both feeling better but I now have a terrible cough. It’s not Covid - I did a test yesterday.
I finally booked a cottage. DH, myself and SIL (and her dog) will be having some relaxation time in the fall. It’s booked for 5 days in September. The cost went down from $500 per night to $300 per night because I booked in the off season. The weather is usually still very warm in Sept so I’m hopeful we can use the canoe, kayaks, etc.
Supper is leftover spaghetti.

Sounds like a nice vacation taylortroop. There's something going around that ends in a bad cough. Yds had it. I hope you're feeling much better quickly. I'm making a tomato sauce for the fresh pasta that I bought last week. It will be accompanied by roasted broccoli.

We ended up not eating at the event, and tried a new place specializing in Nashville hot chicken, which Nick is a fan of. Mine was okay. He didn't care for it as much as I thought. We probably won't go back. Kind of pricey for a loud drafty place. I think it was trying to be a fast casual place, but ended up more like overpriced fast food. I'm looking forward to some time on the couch now!

Yikes! Tough day for Niners fans. First our 3rd string QB gets hurt, then our LAST string QB gets hurt. So now our running back will play QB. ETA: Guess they decided to go back to an injured Purdy.

We ended up getting Fish & Chips on the way home from the beach, for a late lunch, so we weren't hungry at dinnertime. By about 8:30pm we were a bit hungry, so we had a ham and cheese croissant. I'm a bit laughing. 43 degrees and I'm only wearing a sweater. 🤣 You look like you are bundled up for serious weather there. I had to go to the F > C calculator on Google to work out that 43°F is about 8°C. Brrrrr! ❄️ It rarely gets that low here during the day, and if it did, I would be rugged up like cadoodlebug . In fact, I'd be rugged up like that if it were 14°C (57°F) and I had to go outside! You're a hardy lot up there!

I’ve been wearing hats the past few years. I have Raynaud’s and my dr suggested it. Plus when I don’t want to do my hair the hat comes in handy. austnscrapaddict I hope you don’t have a concussion. Made bbq pulled chicken with baked beans and salad. I hope you get to see Kylon soon jeremysgirlWhen I’m not working I love joggers and tees with shackets. I like to be warm.

I did get to church for a short time today so I could be in the choir and sing a tricky Handel piece. our choir has 5 people. every voice counts.
