We are having a polar vortex here in the Northeast. In my area the temp is -12 with wind chills of -38 which is cold…but the MT Washington observatory is recording wind chill temperatures of -102F. The people who man the observatory have to go out every hour and collect data. I can’t even imagine. 😲. Wind chills of -38 is bad enough. It is supposed to only get worse through the evening.
What are temps like in your neck of the woods?

70°, blue skies, with snow on the mountains, a few whispy clouds coming in for the possible rain on Sunday, and a few light cool breeze.

It's been a cold week here. Highs in the single digits or below. We hit 15 below last night in Minneapolis. DH has been at the top of Mt Washington--I can't even image what -102 (-74 Celsius) feels like!

I’m north of Boston… it’s currently 3 degrees, feels like -19. We’re supposed to get a low of “-9, feels like -32” overnight. It’s no Mt Washington but it is a bit nippy 😆

What are temps like in your neck of the woods? It was -12º overnight here last night. I don't know the windchill, but it was windy. We need to know the actual temp and wind directions, to know how to close up our cattle barns. They were shut up tight last night. My husband said the barn with calves was about 10 above and the barn with the fats was almost 30. It's harder to keep the smaller animal barns warm, but 10 above is good! They were comfortable.

East coast of Canada - we are expecting feels like temps of -46°C overnight (-50°F). The house is cracking and popping with the cold. Very windy so hoping the power stays on.
Stay warm and safe everyone facing this deep freeze!

Last year we had windchill of -53C/-63F, the worst we've ever had. -30C-22F even -40 is tolerable but if there is wind that's the killer. We didn't get this latest vortex, +1C/34F today! My mom is 15 minutes from me and it was +8C/46F there today. Many people work outside all winter here. Neisey the trees are so close or grown around power lines, no wonder it goes out so much in the east.

70°, blue skies, with snow on the mountains, a few whispy clouds coming in for the possible rain on Sunday, and a few light cool breeze. There's always one in every crowd. For us (Northern Virginia) it's balmy compared to some of you... 23 degrees with a wind chill feels-like of 9.

It is 49 degrees here, which is actually rather warmish to me already! I am adapting to the colder weather already. BUT, I would never ever adapt to minus 100 degrees. Heck, I would not do well in minus anything. I’ve never been in anything that cold. I think the coldest was in Minnesota during one of my son’s cancer appointments. It was 10 degrees and snowing and he was thrilled.
The other day it was around 20 degrees here and I was on my front porch installing the video doorbell. My fingers were so cold that I kept dropping the little screws. My next door neighbor returned home from somewhere and saw me out there working. I guess I looked frustrated because he came over to help me do the install. I’m fairly mechanical, but I don‘t have many tools here yet. I was struggling for lack of proper tools AND frozen fingers. When he came to help me I told him what the issues I was having was - the doorbell wires were much thicker than I’ve ever seen before and would not fit between the area allotted under the screw. I was trying to separate something a bit and he just smiled and put his hand out for me to give it to him. Such a man. It took him an additional 15 minutes, along with some cussing and returning to his house for another tool. I knew how to do the install, I just couldn’t shove the thicker wire down where it needed to go with the tool I had. And I have to admit, I was quite happy to see him struggling to do it too!

Currently it's -9 but feels like -28 with the wind chill. It was delightful walking the pups this morning. Supposed to really warm up this afternoon to 15*f However, starting tomorrow it's going to be close to 50* all week. Warmest winter I can remember. We haven't had more than a dusting of snow (I hope I didn't just jinx myself) I'm in SE MA

Also in Massachusetts. It’s -10° F here and feels like -29°F. We’re expecting 40°+ weather starting tomorrow afternoon. I’m not far from the NH border in the eastern part of the state.

Its 3 degrees F right now (-16 C) but the winds are calming so it could be worse… I hope you are having a great time. Glad you were able to ski. A lot of the ski areas here in Vermont were not running yesterday or had very limited skiing (only lower lifts open) because of the extreme cold and wind. But we are suppose to be in the 30’s tomorrow. Crazy weather for sure. ETA - Right now (sat morning) we are at -14 F actual air temperature but the winds are calming down so the wind chills are not as bad as they have been.

It is 21 degrees this morning. This round of cold isn't nearly as bad in the south as we had at Christmas. Tomorrow it is to be in the 50's and nearly 70 by the end of the week.

Last night it was 23 but felt like 8. the wind makes things worse IMO, the sound gives me a lot of anxiety. And our neighbor's leeland cyprus fell over in our yard, so it makes me sad this big full tree is gone and worried now there is a hole in the "fence" for wind to catch another tree. Sigh. They really don't last very long...

We’re in NYC this weekend and last night we walked several blocks to and from a restaurant. There’s something about high winds and all these tall buildings that makes the wind feel even stronger. I was reasonably comfortable in a long down coat and gloves, but we saw so many people who apparently wanted frostbite wearing hoodies, bare midriffs and bare legs.

We had a week of cold and snow last week. It was longer than normal. We are back up into the 50's and I am so happy about that.

What are temps like in your neck of the woods? Anderson Cooper 360 last night had this location on. He spoke with one of the men that work there. At the time of the interview it was -45 with a windchill of -105 or -106. The man got dressed and went outside. It was dark so we didn't see much, but holy icicles!! Currently at our home it is 46 and sunny!

Our news reported that MT Washington got down to a wind chill of -108, which broke their record. They did not break their actual air temperature low of -50(?) though. We see news pieces from/about MT Washington quite often. It is fascinating what they have to endure at times.

We were up there last fall. It was windy and cold in September! The drive up there was the most frightened I've every been - the drop offs on the drive up looked deadly. It was an interesting experience that I NEVER want to repeat. It's 55 and sunny here.

It's 55 and sunny here. we took the cog railroad up in July 2017 - it was an awesome view but it was cold and windy at the top then - even in the summer. 63 and mostly sunny here, wind gusts up to 19mph (I'm in Florida - my sister is in Vermont and has been giving me regular negative temp/windchill updates)
