I was having wild dreams in btwn. I had a baby girl. OK, I'm turning 60. I don't think so!!!!! Wellll....in CASE it's true, we can throw you a fun baby shower via ZOOM! My favorite Vegas show is The Blue Man Group. It's fantastic. We took my Dad, and since he'd had a few glasses of wine at dinner, he was falling asleep BEFORE it started. Since my sister and brother are leaving for their month-long trip to India this week, we’re having a family dinner at an old-style Italian dinner house. (I look forward to hearing the stories about how they damn near killed each other on this trip, assuming both return in one piece.) A MONTH....in India, with just my brother? Nope! Are they going just for "fun?"

I used to post on this thread waaayyyy back in the dark ages, but for some reason just let it go. Reading through it just now makes me nostalgic. Sorry for your loss Delta Dawn. I do agree with the concept of assisted death though. For some people in certain circumstances, it allows them to die with dignity in their own way. Death is just always hard on those of us left behind no matter how it occurs. And just to stay in the spirit of the thread, I'll tell you what I'm making for supper. (We eat supper in the south - lol.) I've got a meatloaf in the oven along with a squash casserole. I'm going to make mashed potatoes to go with and I'm frying some okra. I make a huge (four pounds of ground beef) meatloaf because we all love the leftover meatloaf sandwiches.

I shopping in actual stores and I MISS it ! DH and I just got back from a little shopping trip which we NEVER do on Sunday because it's so crowded. Anyway we went to Home Depot to buy 4 terracotta pots for some succulent cuttings that a friend is going to give me. Then I bought a Peloton floor mat, weight gloves, 2 5 lb. weights and a rope with handles so I can work out at home if I don't feel like going to the gym. I'm inspired! ETA: Welcome back Spongemom Scrappants! Pull up a chair to the table and join us often!

Happy Sunday, all!
We had Chinese take-out tonight.
I took a required computer class in high school. Couldn't tell you a thing I learned, but at least I can type without looking at the keyboard? I also took 3 years of Latin in high school. Didn't want to continue with French, or start Spanish or German, so Latin it was.

I'm glad your trainer loved your pecan pie...any chance you'd share your recipe? You've mentioned it many times, so it must be SCRUMPTIOUS !!!

There was a place in Indy that made one and then would grill slices of it to get crispy edges...so good. I haven't made my own in a long time. We had a pre-made one a couple weeks ago and all it did was make me want my grandma's. She loved meatloaf too. When I was a kid I would tease her for ordering it at a restaurant bc I felt like that was something you had at home (I was a snot, apparently!). Now whenever I order it I think of her. Are you a Ketchup or glaze on top person, or gravy? 😊

I was up early and took daughter in law to airport.. left terminal and noticed she left coat in car, so went around the terminal again and got it to her.
went grocery shopping and we are having salad, steamed broccoli and mushroom sauce chicken with pasta.
I took typing in 9th grade.. learned it well enough to get my first federal govt job in 1981. I learned to keypunch in college when a friend wrote a program to sort a survey project data.
my brothers learned to use computers in high school in the late 1960's.. used to bring their card decks home.
one of my kids took two years of latin in high school and has almost finished a classics minor in college. she is trying to complete a japanese major.
my kids grew up as digital natives. we had the internet before the world wide web.

I just remembered a funny from nursing school. The professor was truly a horrible, angry, rude person---we DESPISED her for many good reasons. She once humiliated me in front of my fellow students. Exam was coming up--the correct term for the end of the penis is " prepuce". She yelled that if ANYONE dared to call it a " head", she would instantly give them an F on the exam. Um, giving someone an F for one little mistake is SO ethical, huh?

P.S. I'm glad your trainer loved your pecan pie...any chance you'd share your recipe? You've mentioned it many times, so it must be SCRUMPTIOUS !!! Here you go! Joy’s Pecan Pie 3 eggs ¾ cup sugar dash salt 1 cup dark corn syrup 2 T butter, melted 1 t vanilla 1 cup broken pecans 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell 1. In a mixing bowl beat eggs thoroughly. 2. Stir in sugar and salt until dissolved. 3. Stir in corn syrup, butter and vanilla; mix well. 4. Stir in pecans and pour into unbaked pie shell. 5. Bake @ 375° for about 45-50 minutes. Enjoy! This pie isn’t as gooey sweet as most pecan pies. It is a hit wherever I take it and is always requested at our family holiday get-togethers.

Are you a Ketchup or glaze on top person, or gravy? We like ketchup on top - it sort of caramelizes as it bakes. Delicious.

We like ketchup on top - it sort of caramelizes as it bakes. Delicious. I have a recipe for Horseradish Meatloaf that is yummy. The top has a concoction of ketchup, brown sugar, spicy mustard, dry mustard and horseradish.

I would love to try your recipe. ♥️ This is the full recipe, when I make it, I half the recipe for just DH and me. • Horseradish Meatloaf • 2 pounds ground beef (I use Costco’s lean 12% fat?) • 2 eggs, lightly beaten • 1/2 C. dry bread crumbs (I use Panko) • 1/2 C. ketchup • 1 T. horseradish • 2 t. Worcestershire sauce • 2 t. salt • 1 t. onion powder • 1/2 t. black pepper • 1/2 t. mustard powder • 1 clove garlic, minced • 1-2 T. chopped fresh parsley • Sauce: • 1/2 C. ketchup • 3 T. brown sugar • 1 T. horseradish • 2 t. spicy brown mustard • 1/2 t. mustard powder • 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. • 2. In a large bowl, mix all meatloaf ingredients together well (Although messy, it’s easiest to do this with your hands). Press meat mixture into a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan or form into a freestanding loaf in the center of a baking sheet. (I have a small rack with holes that I use and I make a freeform loaf about 9 x 5 or so with a flat top.) • 3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sauce ingredients. Spoon half of the sauce mixture on top of the meatloaf. Place meatloaf in a preheated 375 degree oven and bake for 50 minutes. • 4. After 50 minutes, remove meatloaf from oven, spoon remaining sauce over the top and return to the oven for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for an additional 10 minutes before slicing.

Oh man. All these meatloaf recipes sound so tasty!
Ours is just ground beef, salt, pepper, dried parsley, bread crumbs, and an egg. We always brush BBQ sauce onto ours when it's just about done cooking.
