Have any of the peas tried this for depression? Did it work? What were your thoughts on it? My psychiatrist wants me to try it rather than keep juggling meds. My depression is bad. My head doesn't feel right. I have been in meds for at least 30 years. This treatment kind of freaks me out, but I an want to feel normal, enjoy my life.

If you follow The Bloggess at all - I believe she did this - she has blogged about it. I can't remember all the details, but I believe it helped her.

It was helpful for my daughter, but she has had to have repeats over the past couple years.

Do you have regular depression? It will work for that but not bipolar. I had an interview to see if I was a candidate and all I got were more meds. They have helped though so there is that. They are just very expensive and the gov’t of my province will not cover them. Such is life. They bought the machine and cancelled the program here.

A friend's college age daughter was helped immensely by it. I think she's gone back for "touch-ups" since finishing, but she seems to be functioning much better.

It helped my DH quite a bit, but wore off. He’s had 3 full rounds of treatment and while he is better off than before, the positive effects have definitely worn off a bit. At $1000 a round and having to be there every weekday for 6 weeks, he decided not to do it anymore. Bonus: they told him he has a really thick head, proving what I have been saying all along!  |

I have treatment resistant depression. I am very blessed with a great company insurance that supports different therapies. I did 2 rounds of TMS therapy and it was during Covid. It really helped a lot. Right now I’m doing Spravato therapy. It’s an inhaled ketamine. I’ve been off Work for 2 yrs, multiple surgeries and broken things and that coupled with an empty nest tanked my depression. Spravato has helped Greatly. I wish you luck. Tms really helps. |
