Hi everyone! I have had a very slow start to my morning ... recovering from my last couple of weeks from Hell at work. My girlfriend came over for dinner last night ... we had takeout pasta from our fav Italian place ... so good! I think I was so over tired last night that I didn't sleep well at all ... a nap is definitely in my future today! I also need to finish those stupid online safety courses for work ... sigh! Dinner tonight is up in the air ... might be a margherita flatbread pizza. This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I no longer have a husband but if I did it would totally be true! Between school supplies and things for my new condo, Amazon visits me often! Are you a good friend of Amazon as well? What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

Happy Saturday!
Another work day. I'm on hold with IT. Fun times...
I rarely shop Amazon but DH sure does.
I am so excited. After 25 straight days of work, I am taking tomorrow off!!!!
No plans for tonight. Might spend some time in the scrap room.
Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Good morning! We'll scrape together a meal from the fridge before we head out for a benefit comedy show.
I am an Amazon shopper for many hard to get items, such as gluten free chinese crispy noodles. Can't think of the proper name.

Good morning! Another Saturday, another wrestling meet. Semi-state...we have one boy from husband's grandson's school still in it. Hoping he can make it to State...our little under-resourced school could use some great news! We are the Eagles, and to give you an idea -- the mascot has no costume, just a chicken head that someone wrote on it "this is not a chicken" lol! I keep saying we need to do a gofundme, hit up our family and friends for 5 bucks apiece and get the poor kid a proper Eagle suit. Maybe the Philadelphia Eagles could donate?! They struggle, but they have some if the nicest kids. That's why weeks after our kid was out we are still going to cheer on these last 2 kids, bleary eyed sitting on hard bleachers, elbow to elbow with all of humanity. I am crocheting, as this is a "sit for 5hrs in between 4minutes of action" kind of event.
No idea what is dinner today. Probably something out, something casual. Not sure if we will go over into IL this afternoon/eve as we are already in East Chicago. There's a music store Nicknwould like to visit in the burbs, and I'm always down for thrift stores and bookstores. I actually left Barnes and Noble last night without purchasing a single thing -- shocking! But they didn't have a new issue of my favorite magazine, BAKE, which is what I was hoping for.
Amazon visits us several times a week. I love packages. Nick and I even have our own accounts. Between tools, books, household stuff and even clothes, we keep the Amazon delivery person busy!
Have a great day, peeps!

The Amazon man - and DHL and Hermes peeps too - are all my friends. Not just my packages, but as the person in the apartment closest to the front door, and being home most of the time, I am their ‘go to’ to take in parcels when the actual recipient is not at home!
After DH did the grocery run this morning, we drove over to BMW Welt. His company car is up for renewal soon, so we went to have a look at the current range. We will be getting an electric car this time around, and they had some very nice looking options - we just need to confirm what the price range we have before making a final decision. I went for a walk after lunch and was home by 3:30, for football kickoff. Our team played a good and rather exciting game, and so I managed to get a fair bit of knitting done.
Dinner tonight is chicken tikka.

I made curry last night so chicken pasta tonight.. dh is thinking of driving tomorrow if his pain allows it.. he wants to go over and hang out with buddies about 1 hour away. waiting for the rain to pass so I can take dog for a walk.. then more clean up projects. nephew stayed last night and we had a good discussion of family issues and looking for social service support. his mom thinks we are white snobs and blames us for all that is wrong.... we did point out we earned everything on our own... at least. my nephew sees through that. i am happy to build a better relationship with him and my dh is very helpful with this. my nephew lives with my sister, who I take care of at a distance.

Hi Everyone, leannec I bet you are glad to have these last weeks behind you. I hope next week is an easier week for you. I hope that you have a relaxing day. Yes, Amazon is my friend. Thanks for starting the thread. stormsts You poor thing! I had times in my career that I worked that many days. It is exhausting. I hope you get your IT issues fixed and have a great day tomorrow, doing whatever you want to do. Montannie Enjoy the comedy show! tmarschall Enjoy your time with your DH today. The eagle mascot story is so cute. sueg Sending good vibes for your team to win. ntsf You are such a great Aunt. I am glad that your nephew has you. Delta Dawn Your dinner sounds delicious. Today is my ODS’s 21st birthday. He came home for it. We offered to take him out for dinner; but he just wants to stay home. We are having steak, potatoes, corn and broccoli. I had another insomnia night; so I didn’t get to sleep until after 5 am this morning. So I am dragging. Last night, I made a chicken and biscuit dish that is all over TikTok. It was a hit and delicious. I hope all of you have a peaceful day.

We really liked the new restaurant we tried last night, so that was fun! I think I have some pork chops in there I'm going to make for dinner. I had terrible insomnia last night, so figuring out when I can take a nap! I went on an extra long walk this morning, so hoping that it'll relax me enough to sleep.

sueg Sending good vibes for your team to win. Our game was already over when I posted, and yes, we did win. Remember - I am in Germany, so my 3:30pm is 9:30am for those of you on the US east coast. I am also not watching what you call football over there, but what you call soccer, so the games are not so long.

Montannie , enjoy the comedy show. It'll be so much fun. destined2bmom , your insomnia could beat up my insomnia. We should trade phone numbers and chat at 3am. ARGH! I hope you sleep well tonight. Happy Birthday to your son. 21 is a big number. My kids don't drink, like their mama. So, 21 was underwhelming. leannec , have a refreshing nap. stormsts , woohoo. Do whatever you want to do on your day off. It's about time. We are frequent Amazon fliers. I do 99.9% of my shopping online, as does dh. So, Amazon is a big thing in my house. As I mentioned last night, I deleted my to-do list for my upcoming trip. So, I've been trying to re-create it from memory. Dh and I started our day by finalizing our decision to do a kitchen remodel. We're gonna re-face our cabinets and update. We'll have a backsplash installed, new countertops and dh will do the flooring. He installed all of our cabinets when we first moved in years and years ago and now it's time to update. I'm excited.
Dinner will be rechauffe seasoned chicken sandwiches and tater tots, because we have one piece of chicken left. I love that dh makes things so easy.

We had a very long walk this morning and I realized halfway through that my Fitbit was on my other pair of tennis shoes. I hate when that happens. destined2bmom , happy 21st BD to your ODS! It's gotten chilly today so we'll have Chicken Noodle Soup. ETA: I get something from Amazon maybe 4-5 times a year. DS uses them frequently.

Hi I am a bit more awake now. I am teaching English for an hour or or more. I need to wash the door, dishes are calling me. I have white socks the smallest load of laundry ever to wash. I am walking to the gym and then going out for dinner. It’s not an exciting Saturday but it will be productive. I guess I should get moving. (At least I am dressed, right?)

Hiya, ladies! leannec yes rest girl. I know you've had a hard couple of weeks and you deserve to recharge your batteries. stormsts I really hope a day off gives you time to recharge too. Or that you at least get to do something fun. destined2bmom & scrapmaven my meme is for you! (And me) damn menopause is messing with my sleep too. And I just want to tell you guys that I submitted my big project to my boss and I logged in this morning to find that he had sent a message to entire group that my work was outstanding! Whew! Getting a nice compliment always makes my grinchy head grow three sizes. Big head, pats on back pump it up. I just got home at 2pm. I got up at 5 today, drank my coffee, read my Al-Anon book, exercised, did my journaling, took a shower, cleaned my kitchen, went to the women's expo (I won tickets in a library contest) had lunch with my sister and stopped into the gourmet chocolate store and treated myself to a box of truffles. Now I'm home and I've got the entire rest of the day to do whatever I want. Haven't yet decided what that will be a part from making the turkey I've been threatening for three days now.

And I didn't have to do much to reign her in.

jeremysgirl Congratulations!! You so deserve it! tmarschall Here it is… You can used cooked chicken or you can Take 4 large chicken thighs and cut them up. Season with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Put them in a pan and cook each side for about 10 minutes. Remove from pan. Then take a diced onion and brown it in the pan. Take 1 stick of butter and melt it. Put the butter in the bottom of a 9 x 12 inch baking dish. Mix the chicken and onions together and put them in the baking dish. Next put a bag of vegetables over the chicken. I used peas and carrots. Take a small can of cream of mushroom soup and 2 cups of chicken broth and mix together. Pour over the vegetables and chicken. Next either take some Bisquick or similar and make the mixture. Pour it on top of the vegetables. Bake at 375 degrees for 75 minutes. Here are my additions/changes…I added a cup of rice between the chicken and vegetables. I added 1 1/2 cups of chicken broth to it. I used frozen Pillsbury biscuits and they turned out perfect. I hope that you and Nick love it. My YDS called it comfort food.

I don't really buy much on Amazon. I usually buy my coffee beans there, because it is usually cheaper than the supermarkets and is delivered the next day. I also sometimes buy a 24 pack of sarsparilla there, because the brand I prefer isn't sold in the major supermarkets in my state, and is hard to find. We spent the day travelling from beach to beach yesterday (Saturday), and had a lovely day. We'd booked dinner at the hotel as the menu looked really good. I had steak and DSO had lamb. Then we walked up the road to get an ice cream. @leanne I saved this meme the other day, and thought of you, and other Peas who don't sleep well:

That's why weeks after our kid was out we are still going to cheer on these last 2 kids, bleary eyed sitting on hard bleachers, elbow to elbow with all of humanity. I am crocheting, as this is a "sit for 5hrs in between 4minutes of action" kind of event. It's so sweet that you and DH still go to the meets! And bringing crochet is a great idea! (I'm gonna guess a LOT of peeps have their heads buried in their phones in between the action). I LOVED going to my nieces and nephew's football games to see them play in marching band / cheerlead. They loved that Aunt Toee was there to cheer them on, and also made scrapbook pages, too. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: yesterday's chat about the food we miss from where we used to live. Anyone else? I forgot to mention that we always bring a cooler and we'll go to my favorite grocery store to get some items that we miss. We've also gone to restaurants and ordered takeout which goes into our cooler for the long trip home.
