Hi everyone! I'm on my way to meet my mum at Denny's for breakfast soon ... we like to do it every Sunday morning these days! I need to do some laundry today and then my dd's are coming over for an early dinner ... we'll order takeout of some sort ... then we are going to see Thomas Rhett in concert tonight! We've seen him before (pre-Covid) and he's awesome! I hate driving at night so I'm getting Emma to do the driving. This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I am so short that I have to use a step stool to reach the laundry in the bottom of my shiny new washer ... so annoying! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

Pretty normal Sunday here. Our Sunday morning breakfast ritual is that DH walks up to the local bakery and buys pastries for us. After that, we go to church. After lunch today I went for a walk and DH has gone into work for a bit to set up for the week. He’ll organise dinner once he’s home. I believe that tonight is lasagne.

DH is smoking a "butt" for dinner...There is leftover baked potato and green beans that he will have, and I will have the leftover leeks, spinach and lentils...It will be easy as I am working tonight, so He can eat whenever he likes as I hope to be napping.
I have my sheets in the wash as we speak...towels and a dark load done prior....I have also done some cleaning and floor washing....and the am dog walk. I am done with the household stuff for the day. I am going for my walk soon.

I have no idea who Thomas Rhett is but I hope you have all the fun leannec! Live music is the very best thing in the whole world to me. It almost makes me wish I wasn't so stoned at all the concerts I saw in my late teens and early 20s! 🤣 I have found in my later years that it's much better to be fully conscious to really get to experience the music. I hate laundry too. I usually have two loads a week. I have very few light colors so I let those stack up and then I do the same for my wools and I wash those things about once month. But Jeremy always has a load of work clothes and I have a load of darks weekly. I usually do mine on Tuesdays while I'm working. I also am short and while I don't require a step stool, reaching to the bottom is a huge deal for me too. 🤣 I'm going to iron my fabrics this afternoon and then start cutting and mapping things out for my next quilt. I went to joann's yesterday because with sales going on, three coupons, and then Christmas gift cards, I knew I could really stock up. I got all the quilting tools I need at 40% off, cuts of quilt fabrics at 50% off, two bundles of fat quarters that weren't on sale but I had coupons for, one quilting patterns book not on sale but had coupons, some art supplies for a class I'm taking right now and they were BOGO and then batting for my quilt and it was 25% off. All in all, I got $242.50 worth of craft supplies for $5!!! I had no idea how it was going to all shake out but I did so awesome. Jeremy nearly pooped his pants when he saw me come in with all my bags and then I showed him my receipt and he was like "damn!" So I've got plenty to play with today. Tonight's dinner is going to be chicken tortilla soup because when scrappintoee mentioned it the other day it just stuck with me as something I desperately needed to have. Chips and queso will be had too. christine58 did you make it to Florida and are you doing alright?

Good morning. I'm in awe at jeremysgirl's haul. I would be like a giddy kid the night before Santa. Have fun today. Dh has always insisted upon doing his own laundry. So, I don't have to do too much. We both do towels and sheets. So, it's not a beast. I do laundry, but he has to carry my laundry baskets. I'm very spoiled. This am I have to run to the post office and mail a package. Then I'll stop at the store for a couple items, gas up and come home. I'll watch the super bowl w/dh and make tarragon chicken, roasted broccoli and steamed rice for dinner. I didn't sleep much last night, so the day is a wash. Grrr...This insomnia has to go! Enjoy today, my lovelies.

We're heading out for a walk in a few minutes ~ my Fitbit is on the right shoe! For dinner we'll have Gumbo ~ yum! Before the Super Bowl, the #3 undefeated LSU Lady Tigers take on the #1 undefeated South Carolina women's basketball team. We're expected to lose but I hope it will be a good game! I love this! (And not just because my name is Joy!)

I don't think I have ever purchased that much stuff in one haul at joann's ever scrapmaven. It was awesome. When I returned from the expo yesterday I sat down to look online at the kind of sales joann's was having and I was like, I need to get there...today! Luckily joann's is right at the end of my neighborhood. Jeremy was really getting out his scolding face until I showed him the receipt. 🤣

Last night I fell asleep on the couch for a couple hours. So obviously when it was time to go to bed, I wasn’t tired. I laid in bed with my iPad and my book and finally shut off the light at 4 am. I was up at 9 and so far, I feel pretty good.
DH is off four wheeling with my brother. I’m going to get a few groceries and then go for a walk.
We aren’t football fans so no Super Bowl for us. It’s a beautiful sunny day so DH will barbecue steaks for supper.

leannec and jeremysgirl, I bought extra-long kitchen tongs (I guess they’re really for BBQ) to reach the little things at the bottom of my washer I can’t reach by myself. I found the stool just put my center of gravity a few inches higher, and made me more likely to fall in head first. christine58, so glad to hear you’re in Florida and hopefully feeling better. No Super Bowl here! I haven’t thought about dinner yet.

Hi Everyone, leannec Enjoy your concert. Your meme is so true. karenlou You have had a busy day. I should be doing all of the same. But instead I am eating a blueberry bagel and drinking a cup of coffee. jeremysgirl what a score! I need to get to Joann’s. Your dinner sounds delicious. scrapmaven Sorry about the insomnia. I ended up taking a melatonin last night to help me sleep. cadoodlebug I love your meme. I hope your team wins. Darcy Collins Enjoy watching the game with your friends. christine58 I am so happy that you made it to Florida and I hope that you love every moment with your family. littlemama Love your menu. taylortroop Sorry that you couldn’t sleep, I have been there many times and it drives me crazy. lucyg I am glad to see you posting. How is your family doing. I have to say that I have missed seeing PolarGreen12 , bklyngal62, desertgirl and others here on the thread. Last night, ODS only wanted hamburgers for dinner. So that’s what we had. So tonight will be the steak, potatoes, asparagus and corn. Today I went to church and I am going to do some laundry and picking up around the house. I will be the only one watching the Super Bowl because I live in a house of nerds. It’s going to be hard to pick who I want to win. I am in Eagles territory; but Chad Henne of the Kansas City Chiefs is a local boy, who grew up here and went to the local schools. He has given a lot of money to the school district. This will be the last game of his career. I hope all of you have a peaceful day.

My yds is over 6 feet tall. He has 3 jobs when he's home: Clean the top of the fridge. Clean the ceiling fans and grab stuff from the top shelves of the pantry!
Enjoy the game, destined2bmom . I also miss those 3 ladies very much.

We went out to a late breakfast so we probably won't be hungry for a while. I've settled in with a stack of books and some craft supplies. I've lost a little motivation since I sat down in the recliner with a blanket and a pupper in my lap. We are doing the usual Sunday things...laundry, grocery delivery, straightening up the house a bit. Tye pups may get baths, because they have cute new red dresses for valentines day. (And so do I, along with sparkly red shoes!). I have wings and apps and stuff for gyros for game time. We may just order pizza though. I feel like I have hit the jackpot with reading material and craft stuff... although jeremysgirl you win the prize for best shopper! The quilt place I went to check out the other day closed in November. Boo. But there's another open tomorrow. Yesterday afternoon we went to the big county library, Half Price Books and a music store, and then I took Nick to dinner for hibachi at a place we'd never been to. We shared a table with a family with a lady who was celebrating her 80th birthday. It was fun and delicious! Nick is practicing his guitar...it is Very Loud. I'm not saying a word though bc the poor guy is rarely home alone and almost never gets to crank it. In other news, I was able to find someone who can give trumpet lessons, so that is his valentines day present. Let the squawking commence! 🤪

Today has been busy but in a nice way. I have gotten so much accomplished. I was hoping to sleep in but I was wide awake at my weekday time so I got up and at ‘em. I started laundry then went to the grocery store. Went to Target, Ulta, the gym. It felt so good to walk in to the gym. I finished up Valentines cards for the grandkids while watching Purdue basketball. Tough loss… Kids and grandkids are coming over for dinner. DH has Italian beef going. I’ll fix some red potatoes and asparagus. Enjoy FL christine58!

Thomas Rhett is a very successful country artist ... he's so great ... his songs are usually a lot of fun ... I know that country is not a lot of Peas fav! Fun fact about him: along with his wife, they adopted a baby from Uganda and at the same time they found out they were pregnant so they have two dd's that are about the same age ... one black and one white ... super cute family! I love live music and going with my dd's is always fun but dealing with parking at the arena and then getting the hell out of there at the end sucks!

My grandparents lived in Clearwater from 1967 (?) Until 1991 (grandpa passed away) and 2002 (grandma moved up here with my mom) My folks moved there in 1972 after he retired. He then went to Tampa College on the GI Bill and got his bachelors in accounting. Went to work for a family owned appliance store and got their books balanced for the first time in years! Worked as an accountant for the school district in some capacity. When a hurricane hit, the front page showed the damage to one of the building and his car was in the picture. My niece, in CA, used it for show and tell! He passed away in 1989 and, a year later, we moved my mom to San Diego. She passed away in 1995. My niece would spend 3 weeks with them every summer and I would go down for one of the weeks. We always had so much fun swimming in the condo complex pool and walking on the beach. Sweet memories.

How cool is that?! When I was a teen, we had friends who had adopted a baby girl and, the day before the year was up, the birth mom took her from them. They were absolutely devastated. Turns out she was just barely pregnant when this happened. The doctors had told her she couldn't conceive. We always called it a miracle.

Ugh, it's Monday morning here, after a lovely weekend away, and I have half an hour before I have to log on for work. Booooo!
DSO and I both had the same idea for Sunday night's dinner: Fish & Chips from our local F&C shop. We wanted to try to erase the memory of the so-called "Best Fish & Chips in Victoria" (PFFFTTTT!) from Friday night. They were soooooo much nicer, and after every mouthful we were saying "Now THIS is the best Fish & Chips!"

It's a lazy Sunday. I'm supposedly helping DBF with a "project" involving the stereo cabinet and rabbit ears.
We'll watch the game later. I've got chicken thighs marinating, and I'll make blue cheese coleslaw and air fryer potato skins and we'll call that dinner!

Stayed in a hotel with Luke & dd last night. Needless to say no one slept. He’s teething and seems like he might have another ear infection. We visited with my siblings and nephews this morning before we drove home. I’ve done 1 load of laundry and packed a little. I’m picking dh up from the airport at 7:40 pm. I already picked up regular wings for him and cauliflower ones for me. He’ll watch the game. I’ll watch the commercials. leannec I like Thomas Rhett and my DDs love him. Have fun tonight!
