I hate when the amateurs start using illegal fireworks. It's mostly just things that make loud booms and scare the dogs. Plus they have no sense to at least go to an empty area to set them off. I have found remnants on our second story wooden deck. Not cool, definitely not cool.

At least you aren't old and living in the past like me. I told a friend last night that it sounded like "downtown Beirut." She laughed at me and said I need a more current frame of reference.

We medicated our scared dog last night so that helped a little. They are legal here and were going off everywhere. I am happy that our nearby house didn't shoot his canon.

It's ridiculous this year. Some self-absorbed idiots were shooting off bottle rockets and what seems like professional grade fireworks until 1 am last night. It's never been this bad before. AND they are illegal here, too.
I don't mind until 10 pm or so, but come on!

Fireworks are illegal here as well unless you are a professional and have a permit. But, people buy them in neighboring states and bring them back here. I guess I am the lone dissenter, I love the fireworks and bottle rockets, sparklers, etc.. They didn't start them here until the 3rd and they were still going on when I went to bed at midnight last night. There will probably be a few more tonight and then they will be gone for the year.

My husband has PTSD (Vietnam) and spent the evening really twitchy and jumpy. It's always rough for him. We turned the tv up loud, but you could still feel them.

My dog, who is highly offended when the neighbors so much as roll their garbage cans down the driveway, has been scolding the neighbor kids from the dining room window for an hour. Unfortunately they can't hear him...but I can. Hopefully all of them will stop soon. At first, I read this as "dad" Makes more sense as dog

Thank you so much, shescrafty! He's keeping busy to distract himself. He was really quiet this morning, but seems more like himself this afternoon.
