Hi everyone! First, I will wish scrappert a very happy birthday! **GypsyGirl**, how is your dh feeling today? Today will be a bit busy for me ... I need to go to the grocery store for a few things, including red food colouring! We are celebrating Emma's 24th birthday tonight and she requested that I "bake" her a confetti cake with pink frosting ... I say "bake" because it is a mix out of a box with canned white frosting that I colour pink with red food colouring. . (No baked from scratch cakes are enjoyed by my kids!) I'll be baking the cake, doing some laundry and visiting with Emma this afternoon ... she's coming over early because she is working at Starbucks in my neighbourhood until 2pm and there is no point going home because she lives across the city ... Grandma will show up at about 4:30 pm and the three of us will play a game of Scrabble. . Molly works until 5 pm so she will come over after that ... We have a reservation for 7 pm at a nice Italian restaurant (Emma's choice) ... I'm not sure what I will have for dinner! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I park underground in my condo building ... it's awesome ... lot's of people back into their parking stalls but not me! I suck at it and it would take me all day! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

Happy birthday to scrappert! Happy birthday to Emma too. Sounds like you have a nice day planned leannec! I'm just getting ready to go to lunch with my mom. I asked her this morning so this way I could see her but I can have the afternoon into evening to craft. And then have all day tomorrow too. My friend Wendy posted a cheesecake recipe on my wall the other day and everyone wants it. Hahaha...I even had an offer to compensate me to make it for someone. Lol. I told everyone I'd make one when I get together with them the next time. So apparently I'll be eating that same cheesecake over and over in my future. Tonight for dinner I'm making that bruschetta chicken I didn't make the other day. We haven't had takeout at all, I just haven't been sticking to my menu. Mixing it all up, I guess. Although I've got to figure out something for dinner tomorrow as this is the last meal from my box this week. I have one more lunch for tomorrow. But no more dinners. I'm saying Jeremy is either going to suggest macaroni and cheese or potato soup. Who wants to place a bet?

After having a week of lovely weather, we woke up this morning to about 1cm of snow over everything. It all melted away before lunch time, but we are expecting more overnight tonight. We've had a pretty normal Saturday - grocery shopping this morning (I actually went along this week), then I went for a walk before lunch. Since then, we've had the football on TV, but aren't really watching, just waiting for the call of 'TOR', then we look up to see the replay! Dinner tonight is rack of lamb with a pasta bake on the side. Happy Birthday scrappert and Emma

Thank you for asking! I posted late last night that his tests yesterday went well and all he will need is a heart valve transplant, not open heart surgery. He called this morning and sounds so much better. He's up and walking some and chomping at the bit to go home, all good signs. DD is up there with him now. That gives me some time to get things done around the house before I head up. We are hopeful he'll be released later today. Monday morning he'll be talking to his heart doctor and trying to schedule the surgery asap. He's also planning to WFH in the meantime as he is already set up to do that from Covid days. For something fun, here is what DD and I got to see one block from our house yesterday afternoon. The annual Go Texan Trail Ride Day! In the second photo you will notice that many riders have their hats off and over their hearts. That's because on the other side of that wall is a cemetery. This was only one of eleven trail rides that came into town yesterday. They camped overnight at Memorial Park, then rode down Memorial to downtown for the annual Rodeo parade. It's one of our favorite parts of living here in the middle of Houston! . No clue what dinner will be here tonight, but wishing everyone a great weekend.

Well, we had a good run- 2 years, 11 months, 9 days Covid free. Dh has it- symtoms began Wednesday, tested positive Thursday. I have extremely mild symptoms- not enough for a positive test. Ds so far is good. DH got it from his officemate who tested too early, was negative, and neither tested again nor wore a mask to work. Once he tested positive, she tested again and was, of course, positive.
So, reminder, if you are sick at all, wear a mask or stay home. A negative test early on does not mean you dont have covid.
Dh is sleeping on an air mattress in the living room and we are all wearing masks all the time. Ds and I are eating meals in our bedrooms with the doors closed.
We have leftover broasted chicken, potatoes, and cole slaw from last night to have for dinner.
The timing of all of this is awful. I think that step-FIL's time with us is coming to an end and we arent able to go visit or help MIL.

I'm meeting some friends for lunch.
Then I'll pick up my groceries, put them away, and then go get a facial and drive for door dash later.
I may or may not end up eating dinner depending on if I am still full or not.

scrappert, Happy Birthday. May your year be filled w/lots of joyous moments. Happy Birthday to Emma, leannec. Have fun playing Scrabble. littlemama, I'm sorry to hear that covid has reared it's ugly head in your house. I'm especially sorry that you can't help your in-laws right now. Hopefully, dh and ds will feel much better, very fast and you will stay symptom and covid free. **GypsyGirl**, I hope that you your dh will get his surgery, quickly and be on the mend. What a scare! Are they going to implant a stent for the 70% blockage? My thoughts are w/you. Today ods is going back to his apartment. I'm going to be in my scrap room and dh will be doing his puttering thing. Though a game he's been waiting for was just released and I am trying to encourage him to download it. We might watch a movie tonight, but I'm not sure if I'm in the mood for that. Dinner is seasoned chicken sandwiches w/tater tots. Enjoy today, my lovelies.

Happy Birthday to scrappert and Emma! **GypsyGirl** , glad your DH is doing well and will be home soon. littlemama , sorry Covid got your DH. Same thing happened to me. Scratchy throat, negative test. Three days later, positive test. Thankfully no one else on our tour (we were in Slovenia/Italy) tested positive after me so I didn't pass it on. It is bitterly cold today, we just got back from our *bundled up* walk. Friends are moving from our area to Florida and they left yesterday. They are having a tough time getting out of CA because of so much snow everywhere. Dinner might be spaghetti and meatballs.

Hi I have dinner plans tonight but it looks like it will snow a lot and we may be SOL. We then thought about doing Zoom for dinner and eating that way. If I am cooking at home there is leftover stir fry or I could make lasagna or something else. It’s not even 11 am so it’s early.

I hope you feel better littlemama. That was a long time to go without Covid. I’ve been sick all week. Did a Covid test everyday because they’re going to expire. All negative. Yesterday symptoms started decreasing. Thank goodness because I’m headed to Phoenix for a few days on dh’s work trip. Dinner will be carry out I’m guessing. How do you like doordashing freecharlie? Happy Birthday scrappert and Emma

Happy Saturday! DH and I went to see his parents this morning. They are having some remodeling done to their house. My MIL is getting very frail and has dementia. They needed to make the house easier for her to get around in. We then went grocery shopping. I have laundry going and doing a little bit of work. I’m just happy to. It be in the office today. Some friends are coming over tonight to watch Purdue basketball. I am fixing some appetizers and they are bringing pizza. Happy Birthday scrappert. I hope your Covid symptoms remain mild littlemama.

He called this morning and sounds so much better. He's up and walking some and chomping at the bit to go home, all good signs. DD is up there with him now. Great news! I thought about you and him late last night, and hoped he had EXCELLENT nurses! I can't see your photos, but I'm sure they're very moving. (I have to go to my ipod or phone to see a lot of piks posted here). Happy Birthdays to scrappert and Emma We are celebrating Emma's 24th birthday tonight and she requested that I "bake" her a confetti cake with pink frosting ... Now I want confetti cake! (I've never had it). The timing of all of this is awful. I think that step-FIL's time with us is coming to an end and we arent able to go visit or help MIL. I'm so sad for you to not be able to be with them at such a crucial time, and sorry about the covid! taylortroop ...Your SWEET puppyyyyy !!!!!! Oh my goodnesshhh!!!

tonight, fried potatoes (baked them last night) and the rest of the crab casserole. and a salad. son is arriving home today with my car, so I will have that back.. dh still isn't driving.. so I have two cars to choose from...sunny with clouds today, but cold. child went downtown to play pokemon.
tomorrow, my son and his wife are having a going away party at the brewpub where my son had worked.. they wanted to throw it for them. so we will go for a few hours.
ps .I often back my car into parking places.. it is an old habit from girl scout rule.. when you are out or at camp, you back in, so you can pull out immediately if there is an emergency.

Hopefully they can get him in soon for his surgery. We have been so cautious, but I knew his officemate would be the one to take him down eventually. 🤷🏼♀️ Hopefully his symtpoms remain relatively mild and mine dont get any worse. He can go back to work on Tuesday, while wearing a mask for 5 more days. We can all return to normal once he tests negative (at least I think that is right- anyone know?)

We can all return to normal once he tests negative (at least I think that is right- anyone know?) The rules are always changing! The woman who owns the farm we stayed at in Italy tested positive for 45 days! I say once your symptoms are gone, return to normal maybe with a mask.

Ok I am doing well today. I folded one of my 4 big drawers and it is all neat and tidy now. I need to do 2 more. I have more leggings to put away. My favourite ones haven’t turned up so I ordered more. Maybe I am imagining that I had bought them at this point.
Tonight’s dinner plans have been cancelled because none of us want to drive in snow. Fair enough. There is leftover stir fry or I can make something else. Father doesn’t like the crunchy stuff I put in it. I will see if he can find something else for himself.
Father thinks he wants garlic shrimp from M&M so I get the stir fry yay!!!

Walker is doing great! He woke up DH this morning at 3:30 to go outside. I wear hearing aids and when I take them out at night, I can’t hear anything, so DH gets the night shift. I got up at 5:30 with him. He’s had a couple of accidents in the house but I keep telling myself that he’s a baby. And he’s sooo cute so he gets a pass.
My mom came over ti meet Walker today and she thinks he’s very cute but we are very crazy for taking on a puppy. She might be right!
Supper tonight was take out pizza.
