Happy start of the F1 season to all who celebrate! My DH has been watching for a few years now and this is the first year I decided to learn more and now I am slightly obsessed with gathering information and can't wait to start lol!

Dh watches F1 when it's on so over the years I've picked up a few things. What I like is the tv channels here have former drivers as commentators and also interviewing on the grid before and after the race which adds a lot to the programme. Every year F1 change and tweak the rules so it's worth reading up on them to be up to date. Here's a BBC article about the upcoming season www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/64789573 with a comment section below.

I'm just hoping Mercedes will be competitive this year. It's painful to watch when your favorite team is sucking!

I never in a million years thought I’d be interested in F1 but my daughter, an engineering student, is involved in her F1 club at university. They are building two cars this year (internal combustion engine and electric) and will compete with them this summer in Michigan. She’s the girliest of girls, so seeing her come home from school looking like a mechanic is so weird to me, but watching your child find their passion and pursue it is very cool. She’s 3D modeling parts, using a laser cutter and a water jet, all kinds of crazy stuff. So I watched Drive to Survive on Netflix and it’s actually pretty interesting, even to me! We may make a trip to Montreal next summer to watch the race there.

We are watching Drive to Survive on Netflix. DS got us hooked.
Love the drama, both on and off track.
Can I just say that George is just too too pretty? Wow. Those lips.

We’ve been fans for decades. DH watches everything, all the testing, practice etc. He’s even a marshall so he gets to be trackside for the Grand Prix here (not this year because it clashes with something) as well as all kinds of other motorsports. Nice to know there are other F1 fans in pea-land 😊

Yay! Can't wait. We've been following for a few years now, my brother has always been a (Ferrari) fan. Only a few episodes into the latest Drive.
Lando is my driver, I'm excited to see Piastri. I will miss Daniel. But yes, competition please!
Looking forward to the Las Vegas track, that is going to be something. I tried to attempt to go to it, but it's too darn expensive!
Baku's street race is my fav.

Netflix must be irritated that Daniel isn't a main driver this year. He really gives them all of the lines for their show lol! I think it is funny when Horner calls Giner Spice, Geraldine ( I realize that is her real name but Geri fits my mind better). belgravia that is so cool about your daughter! I will admit, I spend time trying to spot any females on Drive to Survive and during the races and make mental notes of teams. My DH and I have joked about the Vegas one, you know, getting the million dollar package I am intrigued on how they are going to set that up and still keep pedistrian traffic on the strip. I was observing in my schools music class yesterday and the music teacher is from England. She asked the class if anyone knew what a child prodigy was. They did not. So she asked next if anyone knew who Lewis Hamilton was(she was trying to use him as an example of his go-cart days). My hand popped up-I was the only one lol! I asked "you mean the F1 driver?" Some people asked if he was in Hamilton lol!! Plus he is a part owner of the Broncos so I thought for sure at least a couple people in the room would have known who he was as it was just news here this past season.

On Vegas - I think one side of strip will be the track and the other side would be where stands go, if I'm looking at it right? I have no idea how they are going to set that up, but would imagine the preparation will be some time before to ensure security, etc. I don't think pedestrians will have free reign if they don't have tickets? That's what kind of turned me off on it bcz I feel like it's going to be crazy packed. The paddock is under construction now. Ha, funny about LH. Only one of the highest paid athletes in the world....
