I am certain this kitchen cost a fortune to build, but I can't imagine many buyers are going to be like, "YES, I LOVE THIS KITCHEN." That's a big, expensive reno on a $2.4 million house.

Jeez, what a cold house.
Not an ounce of warmth.

Yikes. That is a LOT of very bossy marble. This house would be so much better without all that miserable grey!

That looks like the iPad room design mock-up that Property Brothers use when they want to show someone what it will look like after the renovations are done. There’s way too much gray and black in that house for me.

This is a great example of too much of a good thing ending up looking cheap and tacky. Looks to me like someone attacked their benchtops etc with contact from target to go from cheap to faux luxury on a budget… but going by the price point of the house I’d be sorely mistaken in thinking it was anything other than real marble. Did they get it for cheap as it’s such a bold, bossy stone and then think “since it’s so cheap we should cover every available surface in it???” But wait, it’s also used on the stairs too! I just want to add that putting in wooden floors to “soften” the look, and the leather like textured wall too for that matter, doesn’t work when everything is so harsh and minimal.

For as much as I love the outdoor space that is just awful. I'm actually kind of shocked, I generally love the houses posted here 😆

This is a great example of too much of a good thing ending up looking cheap and tacky. Exactly. Used well, it could probably be a striking focal point, not an interior design Rorschach test. I don't even mind it on the stairs (don't love it, and marble stairs seem like a death trap, but it didn't make me gasp in terror like the kitchen did). And Venetian plaster can be so lovely, but painting it that oppressive grey. wtf.

I like the house except for the marble or granite or whatever it is.. there should have been more windows though.. the style totally fits into portland.

What strikes me so odd about the kitchen is there are no upper cabinets. So much wall! I think they went overboard with the grey/marble, you will need a lot of pops of color to warm it up. But the garage! My SO would drool over that! It has been on the market for a long time - 160 days, almost 6 months! Portland people - Is the house overpriced for the area?

Gray in a house depresses me. This house would do me in. The outdoor space is amazing though.

The building looks more like an office building more than a house.

But the garage! My SO would drool over that! It has been on the market for a long time - 160 days, almost 6 months! Portland people - Is the house overpriced for the area? It's actually been on and off the market since 8/2021! Originally listed a bit over $3 million. I'm not an expert on that part of town by any means, but I think it's overpriced given it doesn't have a view. If it did, I think the price would be right. With no view and no dog- or kid-friendly yard, it's too much. $500/sf (~$2.175 million) seems more inline with reality for the area, but given this needs a lot of work for most people, $450/sf (~$1.97 million) is probably more realistic. But then... if you're looking to spend over $2 million on a house, I don't know why someone would choose this and go through an expensive renovation. There's nothing about the structure or location that makes this house special - you could find something similar within budget that doesn't need a bunch of improvements.

I quite like the exterior, but damn that is a lot of marble and not a pretty one at that. The driveway gives me pause as well.

I think that could be the worst kitchen I’ve ever seen. The house is lovely if you ripped out every inch of marble.

Way too grey! Dreary without enough windows. The excessive marble is gross.

I LOVE GREY
But I do not love that marble in such massive doses, and especially do not love the white and black marble together. It's a Cruella DeVille vibe.
The outside is fabulous and I could make the inside work somehow.

I love all the trees and green through the windows.

I think that is the most god awful ugly expensive house interior I've seen.
WHY?
The outside is not to my taste, but I can see the appeal. But the inside, oh hell no.

It always amazes me to see a home like this. I understand the appeal of a modern/minimalist style, but wow, this is really extreme. I wonder who will end up with this property and if they will change it.

The washer and dryer are two stories down from the bedrooms? No thanks.
It’s way too stark for me, despite the attempts to warm it up with brown tones in the floors — it just didn’t work.
One of the worst kitchen renos I’ve ever seen. Ugh, I’d run screaming out of there.

It would be easier to move and sell than to redecorate that place. Maybe that's why it's for sale.

Looks like some kind of faux lizard or snake skin pattern.
I presume it was selected to add something to yet another grey wall in this house.

Too much gray. That house has zero personality.
All the money spent on the house renovations, and as far as I can tell via the photographs >> the only laundry facilities are a small stackable washer and dryer in the garage.

The video shows a pretty decent utility room. I hate it when listings don’t include floor plans or virtual walkthroughs (not videos, the ones where you move yourself through). I want to understand the flow and how spaces relate to each other.

The whole house has an institutional feel to it - cold and hard. Especially that kitchen! Even the exterior gives that institutional feel. Not a bit of soul in that house. Some designer went a little nuts. What the heck is that on the walls? I love the exterior of the house but the inside is just awful. Looks like faux crocodile wallpaper. Again, too much of a good thing.

The doorbell chimes in the little niche on the stairway wall looks incredibly out of sync with virtually EVERY other surface in the home. So weird.
