Hi everyone! I'm feeling under the weather today ... blech! I'm dosing myself up with Dayquil and Nyquil in the hopes that it's not anything more than a cold! I have to go to work on Monday because I have to do a cooking demo ... stupid Foods 7 class! . BTW, how long does it take to fry an egg and at what temperature on the stove? I have seriously never done it and I'm making breakfast sandwiches Speaking of breakfast, here is a photo of my usual breakfast where I pick out all of the red and green peppers from the bowl ... it's a microwavable thing with egg, potato, cheese, onion and pepper and I don't like the peppers so I spend some time picking them out ... yes, I'm weird! Since I'm not feeling well, my day will be spent napping and watching TV. Dinner might be soup ... I don't have much of an appetite ... How are you feeling today lucyg? What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

Hope you're feeling better soon leannec ! We're getting ready to go for a walk/hike before it starts raining again. Dinner will be the wonderful ham/bean soup I made yesterday. This is for putting your clocks back but it is the same for putting them forward!

If it was just red peppers I could pick them out, but green ones...bleacccch. even the smell gets me. I hope you feel better soon! I am dealing with a tooth issue, probably related to the sinus issues, so I am doped up pretty good too! I'm having to be careful and avoid crunchy stuff, boo! We are headed to Naperville for some favorite bakeries, bookstores and music stores. We will probably find a late lunch/early dinner there. Maybe bbq, we'll see! Have a wonderful Saturday!

Well I'm sorry you girls are under the weather leannec and tmarschall hopefully you pepper haters feel better soon. 😘 Smooches from a pepper lover. Lol. It's a beautiful day here. The sun is shining so bright. It's 33 degrees but feels warmer but I still enjoy taking a big deep breath outside. My sister said her and my aunt wanted to go bowling today. I'm waiting to hear from her on what time. I went over there last night and visited but they were so drunk it wasn't fun. I told Chloe we would go for the bowling but then I was coming home. I just don't care for all the drinking. My sis can get pretty loud and obnoxious. I don't know what we will have for dinner. Something at the bowling alley maybe? It's got a pretty decent grill type restaurant attached to it. Until then I'm just listening to podcasts and crocheting. Hoping Jeremy gets home from work in time to go too. He was running pretty good last time I talked to him. Have a great day! And lucyg here's hoping you feel better every day. ❤️

I am wiped! My kids kept me up way way way too late last night! But I am ecstatic that they're here - they only overlapped one day as they have different spring breaks, but it was so so so nice to have them both home and I couldn't be the old lady who said it's past my bedtime! We're still on the favorite train so will be making my daughter enchiladas tonight - hope everyone has a good weekend!

Good morning. I'm joining leannec today. I'm sorry that you're sick and I hope it passes quickly. I've been sick for a few days and I am OVER it. I'm underneath my blankets and will also be napping a lot today. Dh will figure out dinner. There's stuff for tacos. tmarschall , I hope that you don't have a dental issue and that you feel better as the day goes on. jeremysgirl, make Fred Flinstone proud at the bowling alley!
Darcy Collins , don't just you just love it when everyone is home? Have a fun and relaxing day, my lovelies.

Hello! I am sorry so many of you are under the weather. I wish the sun was shining here jeremysgirl. It is a balmy 37 and cloudy. Chance of snow tomorrow. Oh well, I am at work. Not feeling very motivated today. DH and YDS are taking a road trip today to Northern IN to go gambling. Another evening at home by myself and I am not complaining. Have a fabulous day, everyone!

Greetings from a grey and rainy London. We arrived just before lunch and got to our hotel just after 12. We couldn’t check in, but we were able to drop our bags and head out for the afternoon. We decided to go to the British Museum, which is totally awesome! We ate lunch at the cafe there, then made our way through the galleries until almost closing time, then hit the gift shop to pick up a couple of things for the little girls, including my ‘extra’ granddaughter who has a birthday early next month. We are now back at the hotel - it started raining between the underground station and the hotel, and my feet hurt after over 10km walking and 23 flights of stairs - so as DH checked in and arranged for our bags to be brought up, I went to the hotel restaurant and reserved a table for 7pm.

Happy Saturday. Sorry you aren’t feeling well leannec. I love peppers- cooked and raw. I often cut up a raw pepper and toss the whole thing in with other random stuff for salads for my lunch. I almost always eat a salad for lunch so my definition of salad is pretty loose trying to mix it up. Dd1 (Molly) took off for brunch with some friends and then she had a bunch of errands to run so I am blissfully alone. Lol I love her and it’s great to spend so much time with her but I’m very much a “by my self person” so I welcome the quiet break until she’s back. I using my time scrapbooking and puttering around the house doing this and that. I’ll ride my peloton later and then I need to menu plan and probably run to the store - but not until she gets back! Lol Have a great day all! Oh- dinner is I stuffed shells with ricotta and sausage, garlic bread, and salad. And then this evening dh, Molly, and I will play more games. Dd3 just texted me that she got offered $2000 to not get on her flight to Utah just now and she’s so tempted - she’s heading to her friend from high school’s wedding reception (she can’t go to the actual wedding as it’s in the Mormon temple and we’re not Mormon).

Happy Saturday friends! I went to Tuesday Morning (a different location near me that's closing) before groceries this morning. Picked up 2 paper pads and a pack of Thickers. The craft section was very sad. I considered going to another location after dropping groceries off at home, but I'm exhausted from the work week and my ears have decided to hurt again. Since she already gave me 2 weeks of antibiotics, the NP I see as my primary care physician told me to get myself to the ENT, so I've scheduled an appointment for Tuesday. Dinner tonight will be steak and haluski. tmarschall - My late cousin (technically my dad's cousin, so my second cousin [?]; I just called her my aunt) taught in Naperville, but lived in Skokie. I miss her.

cadoodlebug, time for some hot tea and cuddling, after a hot shower. No shower needed, it was just outerwear that was soaked. DH is reading a great trilogy by Michael Robotham and he's just about finished with the 2nd book. The 3rd book popped up on my hold list at the library in the town west of us so I drove there to pick it up since they are closed Sun and Mon. It's nasty driving out there but at least our roads aren't washing away like some in other towns in CA.

scrapmaven & tmarschall, I'm sorry you're both under-the-weather as well. DH and I got caught in the weather and arrived home soaking wet. But we did manage to get about 2500 steps in. Thank you! I'm doing well, thanks to meds. This is the tooth I'm trying to baby along. I will eventually have to have it pulled. It's a molar that I had a root canal and crown put on 3yrs ago though and it chaps my hide to think of the $ and effort put into it. There is bone loss that allows me to occasionally get a pocket under the gum line, and that nerve that splits up and down...whew, doesn't feel nice! The waterpick is helping, but I am grateful to the meds today that except for making me sleepy, I'm not in pain now. stormsts You should have come along and hung out with me! Are they going to Hammond? Mich City? I totally get having a nice quiet time to yourself though! rymeswithpurple I'm sorry about your aunt. Naperville is so nice...we love driving thru and looking at the beautiful homes! That college is so pretty...i looked it up and they don't have a social work program...very tempting to think of creating one! Cinnaholics was our first stop. They are a little place that was on Shark Tank...specialty and custom cinnamon rolls. You can choose one of their creations or make your own with different frosting and toppings. They have a caramel apple pie one, omg! I had a berry cheesecake with fresh rasp and blueberries, raspberry drizzle, cream cheese frosting and Graham cracker crumbs. Nick had a tiramisu one. We are taking 2 "plain" ones home for breakfast. Thinking ofbdoing something similarnthe next tine I host brunch...a cinnamon roll bar with toppings and ideas for folks to create their own combinations. We also visited a gourmet donut shop and picked out a key lime one to share later. And Area 51, a favorite cupcake shop. I love to sample and try to reverse engineer recipes. We then went to Half Price Books where I found a ton of miniatures/dollhouse and food network magazines, a couple of clearance novels and a couple cookbooks. Nick wants to learn how to cook more things so I'm going to propose we try to make something together once a week...a meal, or a dessert, something new, so we are both learning together. We are now at the first of 2 music stores. I found us a nice looking restaurant but I keep forgetting I need to stick to something easy/softer bc of this darn tooth. I did okay with pasta last night. We may just head home and go to our neighborhood joint for Mexican food. Rice, beans and a big bowl of fideo would hit the spot, and he is always up for going there. Sending everyone good thoughts. ❤️

DH and I took a drive to see our YDS and his girlfriend. They have 2 English Mastiffs and we wanted to introduce Walker to them. The meeting went well. Funny enough, the oldest Mastiff was afraid of Walker and ran away from him. The other one was interested and did a lot of sniffing but was very calm around him.
My mom adopted my houseplants today. I believe there was some greenery in them that is hazardous to dogs and I didn’t want to take any chances.
I’m feeling a bit off today. My throat is sore and my glands are swollen. I really hope it doesn’t turn into anything as that will be the third time I’ve been sick in three months. Enough already. I have a follow up with my dr next week so hopefully will get this figured out.
DH is making himself Hamburger Helper for supper. Not sure what I will have.

Hello, everyone. I can’t remember if I posted yesterday (because apparently I am still under the influence) but I am home now and feeling pretty well. Dinner will be some beef pot pie my sister brought me from a local produce market/bakery ( cadoodlebug — Ikeda’s). Good stuff and I need to eat some veggies. I hope everyone who’s feeling ick starts getting better fast. I’ve been reading, even when I didn’t post, and I feel for you all. jeremysgirl, I’m so glad you were inspired to book your colonoscopy. Don’t be like me and put it off till you’re, like, half-dead. Seriously, my kids are so mad at me. Not so much about the colonoscopy, which was a few months past due, but for putting off going in when I was getting sicker and sicker.

I finally decided on chicken stroganoff, with asparagus, and salad. about to take dog out for a walk. dh is in lots of pain today, so doing nothing,
in other news, the 130 yr old victorian road house, about 1 mile away, was destroyed in the storm overnight.. big trees fell on the roof, flooded the whole thing.. trocadero house in stern grove. you could still see the bullet holes by the door from the bad old days. my daughter and daughter in law had their SF wedding there--ceremony in the redwood grove and party in the house. it is owned by Parks and Rec, so we will see wha happens with it. It is part of Stern Grove--location of a famous free summer music performances.. for over 70 yrs.

That’s so sad ntsflucyg I’m glad you’re eating. I hope your recovery is speedy and uneventful. I hate so many are feeling bad this weekend. Enjoy more favorites with your kids Darcy CollinsHave fun bowling jeremysgirlWe emptied our 2nd storage unit with the help of dd2 (who is also a Molly) and her SO. Thank goodness she brought him. But I’m still super tired. I got rid of a ton of stuff with all our moves but I need to get rid of some holiday stuff. Dd1 who is a Lindsay brought Luke and he got to enjoy his mom’s & aunts’ vintage American Girl toys. Apparently 90’s are vintage now. 😂I also bought a kitchen after Christmas to have in my basement. I saw a really fun ball pit set up that I need to convince dh to help me build. Dh made egg bagel sandwiches and Luke ate most of mine while they waited for sil to finish a report So I had popcorn & wine. I hope the ent can figure out your issue @rhymeswithpurple tmarschall that sounds like a perfect day. I love half priced books. I’ve never heard of that cinnamon roll place.

Ahahaha I love that meme cadoodlebug ! It is so accurate. I am going to keep it to share when we have to turn our clocks back in three weeks. (Nooooooo! 😭 ) I made butter chicken for dinner. One of DSO's friends popped over for a few bevvies, so he got fed too. DS and his mates were going to the pub, so DSO and his friend tagged along. I got a text from DSO at 11pm, saying "I'm walking home from the pub, see you soon." Twit. It's not really walking distance, so I said I'd come and pick him up. It took me 15 minutes to drive there, how long did he think it was going to take him to walk home?!

lucyg glad to have you here. We've just got to stop believing we are invincible. ❤️ teddyw leannec if Esther had been born a girl, I would have named her Molly. That was the name I had chosen for her. And when she told me her chosen name was Esther, she told me that she would have liked her middle name to be Molly.
